Paint your nails black to banish negativity. Bonus points if you also paint sigils onto your nails.
An idea: If someone negative comes your way, secretly point your finger at them and flick them away! (Best way to do it secretly is to have long sleeves or jacket/hoodie pockets.) Bonus points if you throw an evil eye their way too. (If you’re into a little cursing.)
Uses: This spell is to banish the evil thoughts that begin to linger in your mind. Whether because it’s affecting your day, your activities, or perhaps it’s clouding your mind and you just need it to go away for a while so you can finally breathe.
Time: Any time you choose. The sooner the better though, so you can rid of the evil thoughts before they worsen.
Paper (more than 1 sheet is optional)
Pen/Pencil/something to write (this can also work as a wand)
Wand (a pencil/pen/key can work as fine too)
A cup filled with water
A plate (any plate shall do)
Let’s Get Started: First you gather your supplies. When you’ve done so, take your cup full of water and place it in front of you onto the plate. Your plate symbolizes a small barrier or ‘bubble’ if you will, keep this in mind for later.
Now take the paper you have and use your pencil/pen/writing utensil to write what has been plaguing your mind. If you can’t write it out with readable words then you can also scribble all over the paper. If you have more than one piece of paper, you can continue this step over and over until you’ve become calm enough to continue onto the next step.
Now take the paper you have scribbled on and rip it apart. Tear it to shreds. Rip it apart until you have them in little tiny pieces and can’t do so any more. The paper represents the evil thoughts in your mind, and you ripping it apart represents yourself overcoming these thoughts. You are showing it who’s boss, but it’s not over just yet.
Take the papers and throw them into the cup of water. Let it soak in the cup while you chant these words as many times as you please:
“Get rid of this evil, which taunts my mind. Rid this negativity, which leaves me blind. Banished you be, away from my sight. For I am the one with the most powerful might!”
During your chant, or even afterwards, use your ‘wand’ to swirl the ‘evil thoughts’ starting from the outer rim of the plate towards the middle, until you start to into the cup. Be sure to stir the paper into the cup until every piece of paper is soggy and until you have believe that the evil has finally be ridden.
When you believe it is finally over, you can get rid of the cup and papers by throwing out the water and paper in the trash (if the plate is paper then you can throw it away as well). Now the last thing you can do… Is treat yourself.
You just banished the evil thoughts of your mind, do something that you enjoy! Read your favorite book, watch some tv, eat something, listen to your favorite song on repeat, draw, write, take a nap, talk to some friends online or play some video games, go outside- Whatever you like to do.

As we all know, there are many different ways to cleanse. You just have to find what you like, and are comfortable with. So here’s just a few ideas on how you can find your style of cleansing, but don’t forget to try your very own ideas!
Himalayan Salt Lamps
My family absolutely loves these, and I do too. These lamps are normally made from big hunks of Himalayan salt, and the natural colors are usually a mix of pink, peach and orange. But you can find special colored ones such as white and green online and even in some stores. Depending on the size, weight, and even color, the price range is usually anywhere from $15-$30 for a decent sized one. Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Staples, Micheal’s Craft Store and even Walmart have them.
These lamps cleanse the air of dust, pollen, and electrons and replace with protons, some say. They can even increase energy levels. They’re also environment friendly. With all the good stuff is can do, no wonder it can be used for cleansing…
I have a small/medium sized one in my room, and I charge and cleanse crystals with it, and other things such as charms. I just say whatever needs cleansing/charging near it and go about my day.
Note; some things should not be put into water, such as certain stones, etc.
As we all know, the Elements are known to be able to cleanse and charge objects. Water can be one of the easiest elements to cleanse with, since you can literally just put things in a bowl of water.
If you have certain stones that are safe to put into water, then try this;
1.Take a bowl
2.Put some warm water in it
3.Put some salt in the water and stir.
4.Put stone in water and let it sit.
5.Once done cleansing it, run it under water to make sure the salt doesn’t dry on the stone.
You can also cleanse things by just running it under some water (on high…if that makes any sense? Like, the water pressure is high, if you get what I’m saying.) You can even cleanse yourself with water while taking a shower. While showing, imagine all the negativity is washing away from your body, and into the drain.
I think Air is one of my favorite Element to use in witchcraft. It’s powerful, but also gentle. You can cleanse objects, and yourself, by going out on a windy day and just standing/laying there. Let the wind go through you, getting all the bad energies out of you. This is also the same with charging.
Moon & Sun
People seem to normally cleanse with the sun, and charge with the moon. I personally like the Sun better, but that’s just my opinion. Charge/cleanse things by putting them under the sun/moon as let it sit there. Some people say let it charge for 24 hours, but I think letting it soak up as much of the energy it can is enough.
The Element of Earth, you can cleanse with easily. Simply take your object, and bury it a couple inches and put dirt over it (don’t do this extremely close to your home.)
Note; you should not do this with certain objects.
There’s a lot of debate about using sage, but I’m not getting into it on this post. Certain incenses can be good for cleansing. Either using your sage/incense, cleanse your object by putting it into the smoke. You can cleanse your way like this too.
This is especially good for cleansing large areas such as rooms/buildings and spaces outside. I personally do use this way of cleansing, by using a tambourine and/or a bell. You can also use your beautiful voice as well. Say a chant like “All negativity and evil is banished now leave” or something like that.
I was actually gonna make this post longer but im lazy af so yeah
The Spanish word for bad/villain/not good, Malo, and the verb Cerrar, which means to close. It literally translate to “bad I close,” which *roughly* translates in English to, “I close what is harmful.”
Use as a banishment chant for negative energy, spirits, negative influences and envision and iron door slamming shut.
So lately I’ve been trying to come up with a spell & sigil combo to get rid of some evil spirits that were roaming around my house and causing some trouble. After some browsing on Tumblr, I wasn’t quite satisfied with that I had found and took my search to Pinterest. I tried to find the initial post to link it here but it’s no use.
If you find yourself having an evil spirit roaming around your house, or over at someone else’s house and you can clearly see that their presence is a nuisance, draw this sigil on your hand, the floor or wall (with a chalk preferably) or wherever you please. Draw this sigil:
Once it has been done, chant this spell:
Evil spirit standing tall,
It’s time you made your greatest fall,
Return to Hell where evil plight,
I banish you with this holy light.
Now go away and leave my sight,
And take with you this endless night.
Cleanse the space as you like to get rid of the bad energies that could still be lingering. Now you should be free of this spirit’s presence. Feel free to let me know if it worked for you.

“Gesture of Banishing”
The hand gesture that many call demonic and the sign of the devil is ironically used in many ancient traditions to expel demons or delete thoughts and actions which are against life, peace and harmony. It was called Karana Mudra in yogic and Buddhist circles.
Also called the “The Gesture Warding off Evil”
It is made by raising the index and the little finger, and folding the other fingers. It is nearly the same as the gesture known as corna in many western countries, the difference is that in the Karana mudra the thumb does not hold down the middle and ring finger.
You can find abhayamudrâ sometimes also as a left-hand gesture. Ekajata and Yama, as well as Vajrapani and Bhutadamaravajrapani are frequently shown in this mudra.
Why You Shouldn’t Use imprecise Language When Talking To Entities
[updated] This is extremely important, and I don’t see this point expanded upon enough. So here it goes;
imprecise language is an all around bad idea. You should always speak as plainly as possible when talking to entities. People often bring the symbolism of our society and use it to sound cooler, smarter, and all around better when doing witchery. The people who hear your statements are usually not from our society, and have no grasp on the meaning you’re trying to get across. It causes misunderstandings that can have disastrous results.
Heres an example of what i’m talking about: Lets say im a new witch looking for a deity to worship. Having a deity is something I really want and I’m extremely passionate about it. I send out a calling for a good deity to come and give me a sign that they want me to worship them. “good” is just a too plain word for me to use, I mean, i’m calling upon a god(or goddess) afterall! “I wish for a god of the light to come and give me a sign!” I say. WAIT, queue record scratch and freeze frame! I used phrasing that me and my peers would understand(”a god of the light”), but “the light” does not nessecarily mean “benevolence”. Guess who would qualify as a god of the light? Lucifer is who. Having lucifer try to contact you could be extremely upsetting for someone who doesn’t want to associate with lucifer.
Another example would be if I was banishing evil spirits from my home. If I used the phrasing “Spirits of the shadows, leave this household!” instead of “Spirits who wish me harm, leave this household!” I would have, you guessed it, my house almost just as it was before. Spirits of the shadows could mean any nocturnal creature, and wouldn’t necessarily cover malicious spirits at all. See where i’m going with this?
TL;DR: Speak plainly when talking to deities, spirits, and other non-human entities
So, if you’re like me, maybe you have trouble sleeping at night because right when you lay down your mind just starts rolling with conversations that aren’t important. I know that this is quite normal, but on my worse nights this becomes intrusive thoughts - those that are unpleasant, harmful or frightening. I have a specific phobia, and when I can’t sleep my mind directs all of its attention to this, which causes anxiety attacks and insomnia.
To help deal with this I’ve used a pretty simple visualization routine.
✨ Pick your fav fictional character
✨Imagine them in your mind’s eye fighting off/yelling at/etc. your intrusive thoughts
✨Choose or create a specific “powerful” attack to seal the thoughts away and imagine your character using it
✨When you start to feel thoughts creeping back in remind yourself they are gone and visualize your character fending them off.
For example, my personal choice is Arturia Pendragon from the Fate series.
Her signature move is to raise Excalibur to the heavens and rain down a white light of power that banishes all evil. When I start to feel my mind wandering I repeat to myself “it is gone” and keep the image of Arturia in my mind a little longer until I fall asleep.
You can think of this as a very minor summoning of a guardian as well, and I find that after a few times of doing this your thought form can act on its own as it knows the routine.
Black Willow Coffee Angelica Wormwood Essential Oil of Myrrh Essential Oil of Benzoin Basil Sea Salt
You will need to grind all of the herbs together. Then very slowly add the oil, you want it to remain a powder so be careful as to not make it too wet. After you have done this you will then ass the sea salt.
To banish a negative spirit you will also need five black candles and more seal salt.
Remember to open a door or a window so the evil spirit has a designated route to leave.
Mix half of the powder with more salt and draw a circle with sea salt. Place the candle at each direction and one in the center.
As you light each candle (in order of North, East, South, and West), imagine that the flame is creating a wall of protection on that side of you. Take some of the powder that you have remaining and put some in your hand. Now blow a bit of the powder over each candle until all of the powder is gone. Now sit in the center with the center candle in front of you and concentrate on the malicious spirit being banished.
First say a prayer: “I seek protection and I sound thy alarm, May my body, mind, and spirit be safe from harm. My aura a shield to help me stay strong, I block negativity and all that is wrong.”
Now repeat this chant as many times as you feel necessary.
“Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust, I banish your negativity, Leave at once you must. Ashes to ashes, Spirit to spirit, Leave now evil one, Leave at once you must!”
Snuff out the candles (DO NOT blow them out), starting with the candle in the north, then east, then south, and then west. The last should be in the middle of the circle that represents the spirit. I recommend taking the candles and burying them far away from you house as well.
