You heard it here first yall! FFXII First Look at PAX East!

Got my hands on the demo (Tchita Uplands riddled with Coeurls, serpents and Marlboros before fighting the Mandragoras in Sochen). Beautiful smooth game play and vivid colors. Stunning textures abound.

I was center and 4 rows back for the panel with the directors. Oh guys. it’s beautiful.

The character model faces are stunning. Vaan has an adorable little smile on his face AAAH It’s the cutest. Thry talked about trying their best to showcase costume textures and weapons. Vaan had a crystal shield in the demo and boy was that thing shiny.

There is a whole new live re-recording of the OST that is AMAZING so invest in a nice pair of headphones or speakers. You can switch between that or the original studio recording. The optional high speed mode is dumb looking but I will probably use it a bit.

I’m stoked for the job system and the fun challenge presented once again of making/customizing the ultimate party. It appears you can also double assign jobs? Ie, make Vaan a white mage and a warrior.

There is also a weird …combat marathon melee mode …that they explained poorly and the video they showed didn’t help much either…?? but it seems like a fun way to test out your gambits, party classes, etc.

There is a cool map overlay feature where you can have the map take up a portion of the screen and be slightly transparent so you don’t have to keep checking the map.

Gambits are different according to your class you choose. There are new items as well! Overall I am so excited and in awe that this game got remade.

Cannot wait! There will be limited edition character cards, mini-bust molds of the Judge Magisters, and a metal/steel box with the OST in it.
