The school year has begun for Ballet SJ School! As our studios are once again filled with inspired and hard-working students, let’s take a look back at the summer with these gorgeous photos of the three casts of Principals who performed Swan Lake Act II at our Summer Intensive Showcase. We’ll see more of Brittany, Elise, Casey, Ryan and Zachary this season; they have accepted placement in the Ballet San Jose Trainee program! We wish the very best to Hannah, who is joining Boston Ballet as a Trainee, and Mark, who is continuing training at his home studio in Montana. Photos by Bari Lee.

Watch this beautiful footage of students from the BSJS professional division in a Master Class with Kate Lydon from American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York City. Ms. Lydon introduced BSJS students and families to the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. This Master Class marks the first of many exciting opportunities that will become available to students through our partnership with ABT. We look forward to whatever comes next! –Ms. Rawson

At the beginning of December, the Fairmont San Jose had its Opening Holiday Celebration, which featured giant chocolate Nutcrackers and…the Ballet San Jose School! We thought you’d get a kick out of this video slideshow, which popped up in our Google Alerts this morning.

The entire video is worth a watch, but photos of the BSJ School performance start around 2:48. This photographer got some GREAT shots of Maria (danced by BSJS student Angela) and our Mice (BSJS students Katherine, Johanna, Ashley and Grace). Keep an eye out for a few photos of our “Nutty” characters as well!

Check it out! :)

“Nutty” and Maria put in a great appearance at another holiday event – Fairmont San Jose’s Opening Holiday Celebration last Friday, Dec. 2! Students from the Ballet San Jose School also attended the event and danced their own ‘Nutcracker’ for the Fairmont’s guests. The performance was a huge hit! :)

See other photos from the event at our Facebook page.

Stay tuned for video footage of the performance later this week!
