balances it out

infamous: Second Son’s morality system is so hillariously flawed

you can kill innocent civilians but as long as you spare members of the tolitarian government it balances itself out

there’s the option between graffiti that gives you good karma and graffiti that gives you negative karma for some reason

how the fuck is this graffiti so apparently evil it earns you negative karma

Pinkie Pie: Oh goodness, I think I’m biased because Twi’s going for my weakness for tasty pastry!

Spike: And that’s why I volunteer myself to here to balance the food competition out!

Sunset: Don’t dogs have a limited flavor palate compared to humans?

Spike: I’ll have you know I have the most refined tastes of any dog I know.

Sunset: So how was last night’s Burger Princess from the trash can?

Spike: Exquisite!

This is super random, but I'm trying to find a way to word the compliment buzzing around in my head. You're like.. a cool mom? Or an aunt?? I dunno, you give off really good supportive vibes and seem super understanding and sweet. But with enough oddball to balance it out? You seem quirky and fun, like kids would enjoy your company. Like "HECK YEA, AUNT HAILEY'S COMING OVER!" It's odd to put it that way, but. I wanna hug your personality?? You're really neat and inspiring, thank you for existing

That’s??  Really sweet of you to say omg, especially since I actually consider myself to be much more of a grump!  Yay, you’ve just made my week! :’D

a couple of my friends are, well, disgusted(?) by jonsa because they grew up believing - and still do believe - that they are siblings. I told them I definitley prefer jonsa over j0nerys (which they also find wrong due to being related) and I got judged haha I don't know how to convince them that jon and sansa share many similiarites and despite being cousins, they compliment eachother in ways that j0nerys simply don't/can't then again, they're nowhere near as obssesed with thrones like us 😜

oh caitlin. sweet summer child. recent jonsa convert. ultimately people like stuff or they don’t and it’s not your job to convince them of ships. shipping is more accidental than anything. you don’t choose what you like/what repulses you.

as for incest, consanguinity =/= incest.  @goodqueenalys has a post about it here. and we also need to remember that in no way were they raised as ‘siblings’. at least not in the way that we would describe ‘siblings’. winterfell was not a house, it was a small town. they were not raised in a nuclear family unit. jon was also seperated because he was a bastard and cat didn’t like him. sansa was a momma’s girl who avoided him because he made her mother uncomfortable. also boys and girls had different activities. if anything, they’re like neighbours. except there’s something more interesting and taboo about it – they think they’re siblings.

but being raised by the same man means that they share a set of values. that’s why i like jonsa, i like it thematically. though sansa was once the one who wanted to leave the north behind, now she wants to protect it, as does jon. in the books, they share a dream – rebuilding winterfell and filling it with a new generation of children who look like the siblings they lost. in a story about duty and family, i think this is beautiful. this is the sort of compatibility that doesn’t wear off even when lust does. your significant other is your partner for life. downton abbey summed it up well:

“Marriage is a long business. There’s no getting out of it for our kind of people. You will live 40, 50 years with one of these women. Just make sure it’s the right one.”

i also think they would be effective together. i wrote about this in my contribution to the jonsameta roundtable. jon is very focused on the big picture and doing what is right, to his own detriment. sansa is a little more ruthless and realistic. they balance each other out and i think they could help usher in great reforms as king and queen in the north. and all of this would lead to our boy jon snow being happy in the long run. despite everything, they trust each other.

and also let’s not forget that right before sansa showed up jon was basically giving up on saving the world, instead heading south to get warm. then a girl comes around, smiles at him, he wraps his cloak around her (he did!!), works to get him made king, etc. and now our boy cares about the white walkers again. and remember 6.09 when sansa told jon if he lost the botb she would kill herself rather than go back with ramsay, and then jon immediately told melisandre if he died not to bring him back? she gives him a reason to go on and idk as a jon stan first and foremost that’s why i ship it.

Hey Hajimama. My sister and I finished a competition recently. It was a close one, and everybody from my studios expected my sister to win. In the end, she didn't and another studio won instead. My teacher says this has been the second time the studios didn't win a trophy. She feels like she disappointed us and has been hard on herself. Really, she's the hardest worker out of us all. She's been trying to balance out practice and her hobbies all summer. Can Hanji give her some motivational words?

What? Don’t be so hard on yourself! Second place is amazing, even though it feels like losing! Instead of punishing yourself work hard next time and learn! Joining a competition and experiencing it is what makes the amazing thing about it! You can only get better by keeping on trying!

if you can now or after you see the movie can you make any harlos headcanons ? only if you want to tho your choice your blog

Harry X Carlos Headcanons

- Harry having z e r o boundaries

- Watching stupid (but cute) movies at 3 am because, like, why not

- Not a lot of people would have thought that the two would be an actually good couple, but it makes sense when they see how they balance each other out nicely

- Uma and Carlos becoming really close friends, which low key annoys Harry because now that his best friend and boyfriend are hanging out together, whose gonna give him the attention that he literally needs to breathe ??

- Harry being super freaking extra over everything while Carlos just pretends like he doesn’t know him

- People constantly (jokingly) say that Dude is like their child

- They are always attached at the hip - Mal and Jay are really protective of their freckled friend, so it’s only natural that they wouldn’t completely trust Hook’s son at the start. But, as time went on, they soon realized that the teen doesn’t actually have any bad intentions

- Suprise pecks on the lips at the most random times (Going to class, swimming, reading a book, etc.)

- Practically married

muffled screams

i can’t even begin to understand

the spontaneity
of the waves
oceans cascading into themselves

the recklessness
of the heart
souls stumbling to & fro

the lust
of the blazing inferno
flames licking the forest into oblivion

or the hope
of our heartache-ing souls
always searching for something

to fill the echoing void inside us all

Review : What I really like here is your use of both water and fire elements to balance things out, I think that was wonderful. Keep writing. ❤

Fullmetal Alchemist: Edward Elric [ESFP]

(Written from the perspective of the 2003 anime. Brotherhood has a different interpretation of Edward overall, but he still has the same functions if I recall correctly. Rewritten from my ESTP post.)

Extraverted Sensing (Se): Everything Ed does is rooted in wanting to influence external change. From his alchemy to his emotional reactions, Edward takes in sensory data and immediately acts on it. He’s good at improvising, and has a stylistic flair in everything he does. Theory itself bores him, unless it has concrete basis in reality. If he can’t confirm it with his senses, it’s not worth considering. He rarely thinks things through, as opposed to a Ne-dom who perceives potential outcomes and opportunities for growth. He’s overall blind to future consequences, needing Al to balance him out. Big picture thinking isn’t his strong suit, leading to his development of his inferior Ni.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Working hand-in-hand with his Se, his Fi fuels his intense emotional reactions. He has an opinion on everything, and is usually unyielding in his likes and dislikes. He makes harsh judgements on his observations based on his preferences and morals. He’s socially awkward with emotions and doesn’t care what others think of him, but underneath his cold exterior is someone who is very sensitive to things that upset who he is and what he believes. His observations, after reacting with Se, are filtered through his personal experiences which he sees and asserts as fact (Te). Like many Fi-aux characters, a lot of his character development resides in him reevaluating his moral code and learning to use it more maturely. All of his internal conflict is just that: internal conflict. Weighing moral choices, analyzing and stewing in his feelings, and making judgements about a moral “truth” to humanity are all elements to his personality. Alchemy is extremely important to him, meaning he’s sensitive to anyone who disregards its laws or uses it for reasons he doesn’t agree with.

Extraverted Thinking (Te): He’s goal-oriented, a creative problem-solver, and ambitious. Any time Ed acts warm towards another person or puts on a facade for others, it’s to achieve something, or used to keep himself at peace. He’s not a words person; he’s an actions person. He doesn’t talk about his feelings; he acts on them or acts out of character (though he will talk after he’s retreated for a while, typical of a Fi-user). He asserts his Fi judgements as factual, is arrogant and argumentative, and is defensive toward outer influences and control. He sees the Te perspective as cold and cruel, and though he tries to act like a T-user who is led by his brain over his heart, he actually thinks purely with what he’s feeling and defends it with immature Te. He wants to be taken seriously, but when his moral code is on the line, he dismisses the harsh reality. “If that’s what being an adult is, then I’m never growing up!”

Introverted Intuition (Ni): As mentioned, big picture thinking isn’t Ed’s strong suit. He’d rather deal with the here-and-now with Ni working in the background to keep his actions focused. He has all the conviction of a Ni user. However, the function is overall immature and leads to Se overcompensating. Him butting heads with Mustang has to do with Ed’s aux-Fi and inf-Ni disagreeing with the former’s Ni-Te approach (“lazy, immoral bastard” in terms of Mustang being an inferior Se, and a realistic and goal-oriented aux-Te). In Conqueror of Shamballa, he’s in the grip of inferior Ni and becomes pessimistic, loses his passion, and is out of touch with reality. At his worst in general, he becomes gloomy and full of self-doubt. He can make connections between events to figure out what’s going on, but is often wrong or missing something crucial due to not being able to read between the lines. By the end of the series, he’s able to think deeply about what he’s learned.

You've been taking antidepressants for a long time, havent you? I've followed you for years but I see you're still depressed and constantly talking about it. Havent they worked for you? I ask you because I'm going to start taking them this week. Sorry if I did not say it the best way. Stay strong.

lol it’s okay, and I’ve been taking antidepressants for about 3 years now or so. They did work for me when it comes to regulating my mood swings/anxiety for sure. I started self-medicating on my own recently though and while the emotions aspect is in check, I just slept for 16 hours so uh. be careful about side effects and finding the right dose/combination for you. there’s no cure for depression when it’s about chemical imbalances, so yes i still have it and will have it, but i can balance it out with medication. best of luck!

My law school ranking is…. so incredibly low and yet here I am editing a journal and running three organizations while working in pro sports. Sometimes things balance themselves out.

Fitness is like gardening. If you sow a seed, you don’t come back the next day and don’t start digging in the soil to see if the plant has already begun to grow. The same applies to working out. You can’t do a work out and stand in front of the mirror the next day expecting to see your muscles already growing and fat melting. Trust the process. It is a slow one but it is happening. The change is already happening deep within but you have to wait a few weeks or months to finally see it. But once you do, you will feel proud and accomplished.
