baking soda is good for pancakes and also my hair

So for about a month now, I’ve been trying this no-shampoo thing.

I wash my hair with baking soda instead– about two tablespoons of it dissolved in two cups of water. I use this every two or three days. At first, my hair was a bit frizzier than normal, but after about ten days, I guess my hair got used to the new treatment and ended up being even less frizzy than it was when I was using anti-frizz shampoo. 

About every ten, I also use a sort of conditioner made up of one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with two cups of water. The first time I did it, I used two tablespoons, but that was just way too strong. It smells really icky, but it leaves my hair really soft and wavy, and the smell doesn’t stick around once it’s rinsed out. I’m thinking I’ll get some essential oils or something to mix in with it so it’s less harsh when I’m rinsing my hair with it. I really only need to use it every ten days or so, because that’s when I’ll notice my hair start getting a little… crunchy? I suppose that’s the best way to say it. Also, the guides I found online that said how to do this advised to not use it very often. 

So yeah, I’m really happy with the results I’m getting with this new routine. And I’m pretty happy with not having to shell out money for shampoo.
