badass buds

a thought: Ford finds himself in Jack’s dimension during his travels in the portal. Jack and Ford end up meeting and helping each other out while Jack tries to help Ford get to a rift/portal to travel to another dimension (and help him in his mission to destroy Bill). And during that time they become a big fighting duo and beat up Aku’s bots and bounty hunters.

I feel like they would bond over being wanted men and trying to defeat an evil being that keeps trying to track them down and torment/kill them. Also, they’re both away from home (Jack being in another time and Ford being in another dimension far from his home one).

Monday, December 1st

I hope y'all kick ass this month. finish 2014 strong. hit those end of year PR goals, show those final exams whose boss, be a fucking badass.

This Alumni Monday we’ve got two guys celebrating their one year adoptiversary, and since they were such great buds in the rescue, it’s an honor to feature them together again.

Congratulations Yoda and Quincy!

Yoda’s mom reports, “One year ago today, we adopted Yoda, a timid dog that hid in the couch and under the bed. The only thing that brought him out of his hiding place was food. Some things haven’t changed; he still loves food. But today, we celebrate the happy, well adjusted dog Yoda has become (sometimes, a bit too adjusted). He’s a funny guy that sprints circles around the other dogs at the dog park, cuddles in the crook of his humans’ legs, and meets you at the door with a wagging tail and hugs o’ plenty. Thank you, Badass for our blonde family member, Yoda! He wanted me to tell you all, “bark, bark,” which is his way of thanking you too.”

Badass Kristin remembers Quincy (then Jo’s) sad shelter photo, “When I first saw his shelter picture I was so horrified - and the rescue/foster down south did such an amazing job in getting him healthy before he came north. He’s so beautiful now!”

Amanda, Yoda’s Brooklyn foster mom remembers, “In Brooklyn, Quincy was fostered by Jess Reed who lives a block away from me. The only time Yoda wasn’t scared out of his mind was when Jess brought Quincy over to my apartment. They were best buds!!! Quincy would put Yoda’s entire head in his mouth and Yoda couldn’t have been happier about it. Haha! It was the only time I saw Yoda come close to playing. At the adoption event, we couldn’t separate them.”

To celebrate the adoptiversary a reunion between Quincy and Yoda is in the works!

Bonus Soleil post!

Badass Volunteer Candance (one of our most badass Badasses) insists that Soleil “picked this toy out for herself,” and who was Candace to refuse? Candace happily purchased the dragon and now Soleil’s foster mom reports, “She will not put it down."  Here are the two new friends taking a snooze together (do not be fooled by the look on the dragon’s face.)

It’s time for a Tuesday edition of Badass Buds! Archie (formerly Hardwick) was a great foster brother to Zippy. In fact, he missed playing with her and kissing her after she left for her forever  home. The  foster siblings were reunited recently when Mom brought Zippy, now Bailey, out for a playdate. They look pretty freakin’ happy to be reunited.

Badass is truly a community. Our adopters are invited to join a closed Facebook group to keep in touch with the volunteers who made their dogs’ happy beginnings possible. And there’s always a large about of swapping tips, advice, and setting up playdates going on in the group.

About Bailey, Mom says, “Impossible not to smile coming home to this adorable wiggling little ball after a rough day. The more time I spend with Bailey the more I wonder how I ever lived without her."

Welcome to the family.
