backwards from infinity

Book cover I recently finished for a client. The book itself is a lovely read, so it was good inspiration for a great cover. I also made a gif (my first gif, woo!) because this went through quite a few stages of work, so I thought it’d be cool to see the illustration build up stage by stage (this is actually about half of the actual files I have hahaha, there were lots of tweaks here and there to make it better each time). Something I’ve started doing lately is rough test colours before I start an illustration, to get an idea of how it will look before I launch into anything heavy like inking or flats. I think it helps in the long run!

I’m most chuffed with the space/night sky and the lettering design. Although the leaves came out really pretty too! What do you guys think?

can’t decide whether listening to fall out boy’s discography forwards or backwards is the “better” experience

forwards = hearing the progression of their sound and the increasing intensity with which patrick’s voice aggressively and sensually caresses your ears

backwards = entering a time machine and feeling the nostalgia slowly and sensually caress your ears and the emo slowly reenter your body
