Kiss Prompt - Pierre Luc Dubois
He took my hand in his and settled back against the couch, a bowl of melting ice cream in front of him on the coffee table.
“Baby,” I croaked, looking up at him. He glanced over and raised an eyebrow. “Do you mind if I shower?”
“Not at all! Do you need… help?”
I laughed and shook my head, moving to stand up and turning back to him. “I’m okay. I just feel bad cause you just got here.”
“We have four days love, do whay you gotta do.”
“Okay, I shouldn’t be long but these meds are strong. If you don’t hear from me in ten minutes, come check on me.”
He laughed and I took off for the bathroom, stripping down and stepping under the warm water. It felt so good to be clean and I must have lost track of time because I looked up and Pierre was standing in the doorway.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. I just wanted to make sure you weren’t sleeping on the floor or anything.”
I turned off the water and grabbed my robe, slipping it over my shoulders before I stepped out. “Thanks baby.”
“It’s weird not to hear you singing, around the house, I mean. It seems like you’re always humming at something. How is your throat feeling?”
I shrugged and let out a raspy ‘I don’t know’, setting my hips against the bathroom counter. Pierre stepped forward and kissed my forehead, brushing my damp hair from my face.
“I missed you. I’m sorry I missed your surgery.”
“Baby, I just had my tonsils out. It’s not like I had a transplant.”
“I know but I feel bad.”
“Well don’t. You’re here now and that’s… just kiss me?” my thought hung in the air as he leaned down, pressing his lips to mine in a chaste kiss. I wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled him closer, parting my legs so he could step between them. He bit down on my bottom lip and I groaned, causing him to recoil.
“Oh, I’m so sorry! Are you-”
I took his cheeks in my hand and pulled him down, fevered and wanton when his mouth met mine. He pulled my hips to the edge of the counter and smiled against me, happy to be back to normal.
