The Descent
The Descent

Decided to “clean up” the audio for The Descent a bit, to tide us over until Bastille releases it on a re-release or a b-sides collection in the future (if ever). Original audio came from: http://rhythmofdanshair.tumblr.com/post/154250172792/the-descent-converted-by-me-all-rights-go-to

I don’t own anything.

Carly Rae Jepsen – “Cut To The Feeling”

By Peter Helman

Carly Rae Jepsen voices a character in the animated French Canadian film Ballerina, which was released overseas late last year and which will finally make its way stateside in September under the new name Leap! Queen Carly also lent “Cut To The Feeling,” a track that was initially intended to be on the E•MO•TION: Side B collection, to the movie’s soundtrack, and now a high-quality version of the song from the Blu-Ray release has hit the internet. Hear it below.

Leap! is out 8/30. The film also contains another CRJ track called “Runaways.”

This post Carly Rae Jepsen – “Cut To The Feeling” first appeared on Stereogum.

Miss Fisher’s Bookshelf, part 1: Collections and Series

Hello, Miss Fisher fandom! A group of us fic writers and readers were talking about how much we love the MFMM fanfic in all its guises. We worried, though, that the newer fans (and some of ones who’ve been here a while) might not know where to start, now that there is so much to choose from. So we decided (there may have been alcohol involved) that we could put together some recommendations for people who might be looking for fic but don’t know where to start. This is the first of an eight-part series, and each piece will be posted by a different contributor; we’ll tag each entry so (we hope) you can find them all! (Coincidentally, there are about eight weeks between now and when the ficathon entries will begin to be posted. No idea how that happened.) Oh. And this one? Is the shortest of them all, which is why it’s going up first.

I’ve also created a story by this name on AO3 that lists all the crazies who were involved in this discussion; I’ll add each section of recommendations there as they go up on tumblr.

These lists are all things that at least one of us has read and enjoyed - if you don’t see your favorite on here, please feel free to reblog with it! (There is no way we could list them all, though it sure seemed like we were trying.) We did our best to keep ourselves to seven or fewer entries per category, by as many authors as possible (some authors are more prolific than others, so they do show up more often, and we did try to keep from repeating authors within a given category). We also tried to make sure we had varying takes on each subject.

Happy reading! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some fic to catch up on…
