Hi Quotakus!!! Today’s feature is
Mad World by 浜崎あゆみ (Hamasaki Ayumi)!!!
She is one of the *cough*Legendary*cough* famous female solo artist in Japan & Asia!!!! And also, through her entire career, she has written all her lyrical content & produced her own music. Her song “Dearest” was the 3rd ending theme for the famous anime series, InuYasha!!!
She collaborated with Sanrio to create a line of merchandise, “Hamasaki Ayumi
x Hello Kitty”. It features a cartoon version of herself called, “Ayupan” and Hello Kitty together. The merchandise included cell phone straps and Lumix cameras decorated with a picture of Hello Kitty behind her “A” logo.
Some of her famous songs are, Boys & Girls, I Am…, M, H, SEASONS,
Heartplace & ALOT MORE!!!
Real me is an extravagant, high budget music video effort from the Empress of J-Pop Ayumi Hamasaki.
Hamasaki was no stranger to the Y2K aesthetic in her early career, delivering a feminist bop with overt futuristic visuals despite the shifting political climate that ultimately caused Y2K’s demise in pop culture, complete with holographic fabric, frosty makeup and cheesy CG.
Curator’s Note: This was her first song to feature English lyrics.
