axe sheath

So here’s that hawk mask that I recently finished off , its a basic friction fit sheath .

Made from 4.5 mm wet formed veg tan leather which was then distressed on the workshop floor .

Old copper was then shaped and hammered into place , then drilled and  riveted with copper saddlery rivets before being aged with brass black .

The leather was then double dyed dark brown and then light for an aged effect before being rubbed back with wire wool for a scuffed effect.

Hey sweetie ☺️ First I wanted to say you're an amazing writer ❤️❤️ Second i was thinking maybe you could do a ubbe x reader where they make a bet over something and then ubbe wins(maybe he tricks her or something…whatever you like)and then that night there is a feast and they're both are drunk and maybe some smut and fluff?☺️ It would be so great if you do this Did I mention you're so cool😎

I could definitely do this, and I’m sorry this has been sitting in my inbox for so long! Thank you for all your kind words, and again, I’m so, so sorry this has been in my inbox for like weeks now :(

“I bet I can disarm you before you disarm me,” Ubbe challenges. “What do I get when I win?” You ask, tightening your grip on your sheathed ax as you eye him. “Whatever you want,” Ubbe assures you, a lazy, confident smile lifting the corners of his lips. He’s assured of his victory, and that drives you to accept his challenge. You start toward him with a scream and he just laughs, spreading his arms wide to welcome your onslaught. You slam into him with enough force to expel your breath in a forceful whoosh, but the prince seems unaffected. Ubbe’s arms lock around your waist like bands of iron, but your own arm is reaching for the sheathed ax in his hand, and your fingers close around the smooth wood of the handle. You tug with all the strength you can muster. Crushed against Ubbe’s chest, your cheek scraping his leather armor, it isn’t much. He laughs at the feeble attempt and you bend your knees, springing into a lunge that will free you from his steel arms and carry the ax away with you.

Except you crash to the ground, Ubbe’s warm, heavy body covering you like a blanket, and you’re howling, fingers scrabbling against the ax handle once more. You try your best to ignore the warmth radiating from him, the hardness of his muscles against your body. Ubbe’s lips are on you like a sudden storm, battering, flattening your resistance like a sapling under snow. There is nothing soft or gentle about that kiss, he’s a conqueror and you are the defeated. He plucks your ax from your limp fingers and immediately pushes himself off you, wild-eyed and grinning like a beast. “I win,” he calls back over his shoulder, ignoring your indignant screeching as he lopes quickly away. The sound of his laughter carries back on the wind, and you fall back against the ground with an angry groan. You hated losing.

Your lips were still swollen from Ubbe’s bruising kiss hours later, washed and dressed in a pale gown, long hair braided and no weapons save your wit. There was a feast going on in the great hall tonight, to celebrate the beginning of the raiding season. Tomorrow you would all leave for the shores across the sea, chasing vengeance and silver. You searched the jostling crowd for Ubbe, his easy laugh and long braid. You had a score to settle, convinced Ubbe had only defeated you earlier through trickery. You would prove to him who was the better fighter. But every time you caught a glimpse of him, he vanished just as quickly. If you didn’t know any better, you would think Ubbe Ragnarsson was avoiding you.

As the feast was dying down, you finally managed to corner him. He was talking with his brother Bjorn, his back to you, and you flitted up behind him on light feet.A finger at your lips shushed Bjorn, and he obliged you. Quick as a striking snake, your left arm locked around Ubbe’s stomach and you drew a finger across Ubbe’s throat. “Did you think you could run from me all night?” you ask, your breath fluttering a loose strand of his hair. His laugh rumbles against your chest, and you release him quickly. You can usually hide the warmth he raises in you beneath a mask of joking, but it’s hard when he’s pressed against you, when his laugh moves through you like distant thunder. He turns to face you, smiling, and his blue eyes are glinting with amusement and tenderness as he looks at you.

“I’ve decided on my prize for defeating you earlier,” he informs you.

You snort, “you tricked me! There is not prize for deception!”

“The only unfair fight is the one you lose, Y/n. Haven’t you learned yet?” He held out a pleading hand to you. “Come with me, Y/n.” You took his hand with a reluctant sigh and allowed the prince to lead you through the hall. He led you from the feast and into the back, stopping outside a closed door. He pushed it open and motioned you inside, and his face was serious in the flickering firelight as he turned to you.“I want you to spend one night with me. Just one, and we don’t have to do any of the things lovers do. I just… I want to feel your warmth,” he finished quickly, averting his eyes shyly. His admission sent the breath from you faster than crashing into him earlier had.

Acting bolder than you felt, you sat on his bed. The furs were warm beneath your hand as you stroked them, the smell of Ubbe–leather and woodsmoke–wafting up to wrap you in its heady warmth. “What if I want to do the things lovers do?” you breathed, finally managing to look up at him.

“Then that is your prize for putting up with me cheating you out of a victory.” He moved slowly toward you, one gentle finger tracing the line of your jaw. You tugged his hand and he sat beside you, his face earnest. “I’ve dreamed of kissing you for so long now. I couldn’t resist earlier, I had to know if you’ve been dreaming of kissing me, too.”

You raised an eyebrow. “You could have just asked.”

He chuckled. “Where’s the fun in that?” He leaned in, pausing a mere breath from your parted lips. “What do you want to do tonight, then?”You closed the space between your mouths, melding them together gently. “We have all night to figure that out,” you murmured against his lips. And then his arms were around your waist, gentle as a silk ribbon, and he pulled you onto his lap as he leaned against the headboard.

Series: Fairy Tail.
Rating: High T - M.
Genre(s): mystery, romance, drama, action, fantasy.
Pairings: NaLu, Gruvia, Gajevy, Jerza.
Triggers: blood, violence, character death.
CH3 POV: Gajeel Redfox.
All Chapters: here.

A/N: I just wanted to say before we begin that all chapters are pre-written. Meaning, all the chapters and their respective ship/character pov is set in stone. I am in the process of rewriting them all, but the perspectives will not change. I wanted all nine characters to have equal and important parts in this story, just as each House has an importance in Game Of Thrones. I’d really appreciate if people didn’t beg me to write more of a certain ship in reviews, especially when those reviews don’t address the effort I have made in regards to actually writing this fic. I will be focusing on ship-specific stories in the future, such as when I rewrite my Gruvia fic Begin Again, so until then you’ll have to deal with the spotlight being shared a little, haha. I’m not going to sacrifice my plot for your shipping preferences by adding unnecessary filler.

This story is my way of branching out and developing as a writer. Yes, the big four are part of that, but this story is individually character driven first and foremost. The ships just happen to be there working together (maybe making out a lil bit, lol). By all means enjoy the story more when your fave pairing shows up, but please don’t reduce my efforts to how long your ship is on the scene. I want you guys to enjoy the story as it unfolds through each character’s eyes. Your ships will get their fluffy, romantic moments. So please be patient until then. <3

Summary: They say that dead men tell no tales, but the body from the canal just won’t stop talking. Magnolia is on lock-down. Natsu’s wife is missing. And the things they were keeping out just got in. In this little town tainted with blood, knowledge is death. And Lucy Heartfilia knew too much.

;When the day has come but I’ve lost my way around, and the seasons stop and hide beneath the ground. When the sky turns gray and everything is screaming, I will reach inside just to find my heart is beating. You tell me to hold on. Oh, you tell me to hold on. But innocence is gone and what was right is wrong.

‘Hey, Levy, you’re under arrest!’

Levy slapped him. ‘Be quiet! Someone will hear us!’

‘You’re the one yelling,’ Gajeel said, tugging the belt of his pants. ‘What luck, huh? They fit perfectly.’

Levy grimaced. ‘Shouldn’t you find something to cover him with?’

Both turned to face the body. Levy avoided glancing below the man’s waist. The soldier’s uniform had been there for the taking, but, having liberated a jacket from the storage room, Gajeel didn’t see the point in stealing anything else. Besides, that would mean having to cut him down, which was more effort than the outfit was worth. He wasn’t even sure how he’d go about it. Now, the body dangled lifelessly from the ceiling, stripped half-way of his dignity.

‘Are you sure there’s no blood on those?’ Levy asked, fists on hips. ‘What if he was infected?’

‘Then I’ll eat you,’ Gajeel teased.

Levy inflated her cheeks.

‘Don’t gimme that look. You didn’t complain yesterday when my mouth was–’

Gaston (Luke Evans) X OC // Gaston X Anne

Sequel to One Year | A Gaston Story

Summary: The Legend of Gaston the Victory spreads across Europe until it reaches the cursed island of Lorgaire, labeled by storytellers as No Man’s Land. Guarded by pirates and concealed underneath twisting layers of fog, the island holds an abundance of mysteries, secrets, and dark magic, as it’s rumored that once anyone steps foot onto No Man’s Land, they never return. The King of Lorgaire, known as The Reaper, desperately craves Anne’s powers and orders his pirates to steal her. When she is taken from her village, Gaston’s Army form once more and travel to No Man’s Land, but when Gaston reaches the island, he soon discovers his troubles have only just begun.

“Run! Pirates! They’re headed straight for us!”

The lone guard continued racing towards them, and yet the village fell to a bone-chilling silence. Some villagers stepped back with a desire to seek shelter in the nearest building, but most were ready to protect their home without a single trace of fear coursing through their fiery blood. Jagtby was a town of hunters, and although it wasn’t often they had to defend their village, they couldn’t have asked for a better leader to take charge. When Gaston was only a teenager, he defended Villeneuve from a pack of marauders that intruded the provincial town overnight. This was a familiar scenario for him and, to be honest, Gaston preferred a band of pirates as opposed to the monstrous trees and werewolves he fought last year.

“Do not stir,” Gaston urged the villagers when he turned to face them. “Hold your ground.”

Desert fox kydex mask with shock cord and cord -lock retention for a Gransfor’s Bruks Wildlife hatchet .

if you require a kydex mask for a GB sfa , wildlife or belt hatchet please email me at the address below .

So to finish off the Plumb Jersey project I put together a real quick mask for it. Larger patterns like Jerseys and Connecticuts don’t fit in my other one size fits all mask, so I needed a big version of it. I have already altered the lace setup but the idea was that I could use the same mask on multiple axes and it needed to be adjustable. I am always looking for the simplest approach and the slip knot works pretty well. The mask is snug anyway, and the slip knot is actually very secure. I’m not going to attach the mask to a pack and expect the axe to stay in place, but I would only trust the absolute most well built sheath for that task anyway. A mask like this is moderately attractive, you could do a nicer job and dress it up, but more importantly, it can be assembled in minutes. Welting is not necessary when using “rapid rivets” like these. Relatively thick, hard leather like this will be so tight around the heads of the rivets when they are properly set that there is no chance of the axe’s edge hitting them. I also glued the edges in slightly past the rivets, just to keep the seam shut and further protect the edge, but even that can be skipped. Rapid rivets are very strong and very simple to set, and inexpensive. Makes for a quick and functional axe mask.

Summary/Imagine: Imagine Dwalin carrying you on his back, a human, and saying that you are lighter than his axes + Imagine refusing to hit Dwalin while sparring.

Gender: neutral

Sweat dripped down your back, soaking your tunic as you maneuvered around Dwalin. His shoulders were tense, muscled arms rippling in the morning light as his fists tightened around his axes. Though you were looking to improve on sword fighting, he insisted that he fought with his axes. You had rolled your eyes when he said that your enemy wouldn’t put down his weapon to pick up a sword when fighting you, so you needed to get ready to face anything. He was right, of course, but those axes were far too intimidating…

GB SFA Kydex mask .

Its been awhile since I made up kydex masks for some smaller Gransfors Brucks belt hatchets  but wanted to make up a prototype version for my own small forest axe as well .

This Proto version has x3 points of retention , the first  the kydex mold itself , secondry retention comes in the form of a self tightening screw allowing the user to set the required retention and 3rd in the form of a Mil-spec shock cord loop with ITW Nexus hardware.

I plan to make a few more versions of these including a full survivor model and will probavbly make a leather version in the same style for those anti -plastic kydex haters out there .

Survival Hatchet.

Whilst I had the Technora 950 out to wrap up my AK knife I thought it may be cool to wrap up the haft of my Gransfors Bruks belt hatchet too .

The small axe lives in my Kifaru E&E pack and just wanted to see what add-ons I could add to the existing set up to make it better .

I wrapped the haft in over 200 inchs of the technora 950 cord from (many thanks Sync_below) giving a great grip but also a load of 950 lb breaking strain cord .

To the existing kydex mask I added a fire- steel toogle to the shock cord retention system , a Photon freedom Micro with 360 degree rotation and one of my Mini MK3 double sided Glint &Glow markers in 3M orange reflective and cyflect reverse .

To the technora lanyard I added a mini Go-tube from snakeDr/ oscar delta which is perfect for stashing small SERE / E&E kit in this case a micro fire-steel/ needle  wrapped in several feet of micro cord ,  x2 swan Norton scalpels blades wrapped in waxed brown tinder paper , x2 Hammero tinder card circles, a baddest bee fire fuze sealed in heat shrink and a 10 hour red mini chem light .

Apart from the obvious benefits of the axe with increased range, cutting/ chopping  power, use as a hammer  etc , there’s the added benefit of using the technora as a friction saw that will cut through wood , there are now also 2 ways to make fire , x5 forms of tinder and x5 lighting / signaling options .

Custom Axe mask .

So here’s that carbon fiber pattern Holstex a thermoplastic similar to kydex axe mask that I recently made for a customer .

There are 3 levels to the sheaths retention, first the close molding of the Holstex , second is the Mil-spec shock cord and cord-lock and 3rd a simple kydex hardware screw & post which allows the user to set the amount of retention / ease of draw .
