The Riley Jenson Series By Keri Arthur

This is a series of 9 books, each one is as good as the last, a must read. 4/5

Based in Australia, Riley Jenson and her twin brother are half vampire, half werewolf. They live in a world where the supernatural beings are known about and they are part of a day team of a sort of police service for supes. Their aim is to bring down the supes which are wrong doing.

Warning!! Very sexual and quite graphic in parts.

Switched by Amanda Hocking

This is the first book in the Trylle triology, a very enjoyable read 7/10

Admittedly the beginning of this book was rather slow and I found it hard to get into and the ending was a bit rushed. However, on the whole an enjoyable read

When Wendy was 6 years old her mother try to kill her claiming that she wasn’t her daughter. Wendy was brought up by her brother and aunt, but she has always felt that she doesn’t fit in anywhere.

She meets the mysterious Finn and he introduces her to a place she belongs and to her true family, this all happens with consequence and many problems along the way.

Perfect People By Peter James

Dr and Mrs Klaesson are grieving the death of their baby boy due to a rare genetic gene, they think they can never have children again… 5/5

If you are a science buff, then you have to read this book. Dr Dettore offers the family a new hope of having a child free of this rogue gene, you may know it as designer babies. When they get on board his ship, they realise not all is as it seems. There are pages and pages of genes they can choose from, from sex through to intelligence.

Things start to seem to be going wrong but it is to late as Naomi is already pregnant. A religious group is against all designer babies and are trying to kill everyone who has been to Dr Dettore. Along with this, when the babies are born, they are hostile, unloving and have behavioural issues.

The ending is a bit of a disappointment but a must read for sure.

Beautiful By Katie Piper

This book is based on Katie Piper life, in which she was subjected to rape and an acid attack 10/10

This woman is an absolute inspiration to us all. Her outstanding courage and bravery she be admired by all of us. Katie was an aspiring model and was building an career from this, she met a guy on the internet called Danny Lynch. At first she liked him and enjoyed his company but over time he became more and more controlling and possesive.

He took Katie to a hotel room where he raped her. She was too petrified to go to the police. If that wasn’t bad enough, he paid someone to throw concentrated acid over her. This has lead to many operations and has changed her life forever.

She is an inspiration, not only has she managed to rebuild her life and recover from the acid attack, she has started up a charity called Foundation to help others who have bad burns, everyone should check this out.

Ascend By Amanda Hocking

This is the final book in the Trylle trilogy and in my opinion the best out of all of them 9/10

There is only one word that I can use to describe this book, is cute. It’s so adorable and aww you have to read it.

The Trylle lead by Wendy, initiate war against the Vittra and this obviously leads to many consequences and death.

However, it is overcome and the ending is unbelievably adorable, if you are going to read this book, get the extended version.

Read my other reviews on more details about the story line of the trilogy :)

Delirium By Lauren Oliver

This book has received a fair bit of hate about being to slow, personally I thought it was very good, one of the best books that I have read in along time. The plot is somewhat different and there are many twists and turns along the way. 5/5

Plot- Love is considered as a disease. It is believe that love can drive you crazy and lead you to suicide, hate and so they have found a cure for love, you receive this cure in your late teens. However, as you can guess the main character Lena falls in love before she can receive the cure. You may think that it is some what predictable and in ways it is but I don’t reckon anyone could guess the outcome. You are drawn into a world, not so different from our own, which in my opinion is quite scary and I could easily see it happening.

Don't Tell Mummy By Toni Maguire

This is a true story about the childhood of the author and the abuse she suffered with 4/5

Another heart-wrenching book and absolutely horrific. The author of the book was sexually abused by her father from the age of 6 up to 14, not only that her mother was aware the whole time. The little girls unconditional love for her mother only made the betrayal must worse. For years she kept her mouth shut, until she was 14 and found out she was pregnant, expecting help to be given to her, none was. Her family, friends, parents, neighbours wanted nothing to do with her, which lead her to attempted suicide,

This story makes you value your life and shows that no matter what happens you can become successful and happy, a must read.

You Against Me By Jenny Downham

An amazing book, thoroughly enjoyable and some what realistic, a light read but one you should all definitely consider. 4/5

Plot- The book is focused around two characters Ellie and Mikey, however this is not your typical love story, not by far. Mikey’s sister claims that a boy raped her and Ellie’s brother is the blamed. The night it happened Ellie was the only other person in the house, she believes he is innocent beyond a doubt and defends him, but when Ellie meets Mikey, she begins to remember things, that will change everyone involved.

Torn By Cat Clarke

A some what predictable book, however thoroughly enjoyable and one that I did not want to put down. 4/5

It is about 4 girls, who accidentally kill one of the most popular girls in school on a trip to Scotland. The girls dispose of the body but the guilt is to much for some of them to deal with. The story is about how different people deal with guilt and the negative impact it can have on people, what with suicides and hauntings, this is a highly recommended book to read.

Crossed By Ally Condle

This is the follow up to Matched and the final part Reached comes out in november this year. This book was a bit of a let down compared to the first book. 3/5

Plot- Cassia is determined to find Ky and she will do almost anything to be with him again. Ky escapes to the frontiers beyond the society and if Cassia wishes to find him she must get there to, however under the societies watchful eye, it seems like an impossible task.

The book is alright but very frustrating in parts.

Matched By Ally Condle

A society that controls everything, who you marry, how many kids you have, when you die. 5/5

Plot- On Cassias 17th birthday she is matched with a partner, whom she will have to spend the rest of her life with. However, Cassia finds herself falling in love with another boy, an outcast of society, this changes her life for ever.

The plot may seem a bit obvious but there are many twists and turns along the way, you find yourself falling in love with the characters and its a book you cannot put down. It is part of a trilogy, with the last part coming out later this year.
