awesome heroines

Poe junkie

The cold of London is forgotten in the glow of a lighter,
It is all you do to kill the grey,
Numb at the tips and you flick it right up,
And a dead man they say,
as you get High another day,
Just a drag to a smile, its chocolate.

Just a dab you use it,
Get high to get calm,
Paranoia but you do it,
Sweet lies its all like chocolate

You and your friends call it chocolate,
The lyrics of the song called it fate,
Roll up and strum the strings, chocolate to forget,
Dead inside and sad soaked futile hate,
You bite her lips, taste like wine and chocolate,
You call it chocolate, just a lie; you dead?

Your lungs they take it in like a friend,
Your heart breaks again, remember why you like it?
She broke your heart so you broke your head,
Bent with drags of chocolate, loved her but she didn’t know,
Bite your lips, light it up and inhale your fate

Inspired by the 1975 chocolate and my own addiction and self destruction

Towards Polaris

Last time when I drew something for Polaris, It was all about what I thought it was going to be, now that I have listened to it a few times, I drew what I thought would happen in the world of Polaris. I didn’t get to hear the pilots in action, but I did get an awesome genius pilot heroine (whose role is automatically filled by Haruka in my book).

So have a picture of the four main characters of Polaris, after successfully completing one of their missions, and some Tokiya and Haruka interaction.

I also really wanted to draw elaborate space-pilot jackets, individualized for each pilot (with number or name) but it demanded too much attention.

Hope you like!  I love working like this, integrating my lines in my colours.

… coming home and hearing Jim singing a parody of “Let It Go”

Y/N: “Hey, I’m back! *hears the singing* Jim?”

Jim: “Don’t let them in, don’t let them see/Be the good girl you always have to be/Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them learn/Well now they’ve learned!”

Y/N: *goes closer to the living room and sees Jim singing*

Jim: “Let them burn! Let them burn!/They’re no longer my concern!/Let them burn! Let them burn!/Time to show the world it’s my turn/I won’t care how they’re going to scream!/Let the fire rage on.”

Y/N: “Wtf?”

Happy Birthday to this awesome heroine!

Sasuke will never hurt Sakura even it’s just a regular sparring. So Sakura hated how he go easy on her that’s why her husband always end up beaten. But he’s still winner at the end. (wink;))

Just used some other manga reference to practice complicated body movements.

metalporsiempre  asked:

omg, Manuela Saenz, another woman who was in exactly in zero of my history texts books through school... Also, I'm forever mad at Bolivar for the dick move about the escape from the second assassination. I would bring him out of the grave just to slap him for it.

Hah, well - there’s a ton of awesome Latin America heroines like her whom you might enjoy reading up on. Some are book entries, some are future RPs, but off the top of my head:

  • Anita Garibaldi (fought, while pregnant, in civil wars in Brazil, Uruguay, and Italy. No really, Italy - she was Giuseppe “red shirt” Garibaldi’s wife. Made the red shirt, even!)
  • Micaela Bastidas (head of logistics for the Tupac Amaru Rebellion (also married to the rebellion’s leader - the Biggie to his Tupac)
  • Tomasa Tito Condemayta, Gregoria Apaza, and Kurusa Llawi (also leaders in the Tupac Amaru Rebellions)
  • Maria Quiteria (Brazilian lieutenant in wars for independence)
  • Juana Azurduy de Padilla (worked to free Argentina and Bolivia, fought while pregnant, lost four sons and husband to the conflict)

And yeah - while I am certainly no expert on Bolivar, the bits and pieces I learned about him from reading up on Manuela didn’t really paint him in a good light. That said, he achieved some truly mind-boggling, Napoleon-level military victories, so… there’s that?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Korra Appreciation Week is now finalized! Thank you to everyone who sent us in suggestions for each day. We received so many and it took forever for us to decide prompts that would be open-ended for artists and writers alike. We wanted to have two for each day so that people weren’t stuck with something they couldn’t work with - so to clarify, you only have to do one for each day, but by all means, you can do both if you’d like!

We are really excited to see what everyone has to bring out. Remember, this week is about celebrating our amazing and fabulous Korra. Not Avatar Korra or Korra being romantically involved with anyone, but about the wicked awesomeness of the heroine herself.

For the final details of Korra Appreciation Week, please see below:

Sunday, 2/8/15 - Family/Crossover
Monday, 2/9/15 - Flawless Hair/Competition
Tuesday, 2/10/15 - Compassion/Animal Companion
Wednesday, 2/11/15 - Colors/Friendship
Thursday, 2/12/15 - Water/Queen
Friday, 2/13/15 - Character Traits/Gender
Saturday, 2/14/15 - Badass/Tropes

Please help spread the word by reblogging so that we can get the ball rolling and spread some positivity in the tags!

We will be posting everything found in the following tags: #korra appreciation week and #korraappreciationweek

AvenJuly2015: How it Works

This is my first time posting from a computer, not mobile, so please bear with me in the potential technical difficulties.

First of all, I am SO excited about all of you wanting to join me for AvenJuly2015. It’s going to be great, and I can’t wait to meet all you awesome heroes/heroines!

The month is going to go something like this: I will post 3 things daily

1. A character bio
This will provide you with background info on a past or present member of the Avengers. Gets you in the mood for what’s to come, and gives you a tidbit about Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

2. A ‘Quest’ (workout prompt)
I’ll post two different workout prompts, one for if you have gym access, one for if you’re doing bodyweight exercises at home. You know your own fitness level better than I, so if you need to tone it down a bit, please, please, please do that. If you need to ramp it up, by all means, do! I am not a personal trainer, nor do I claim to be one. I’m just throwing together (with the help of my gym rat husband) some exercises that fit the character of the day.

3. A ‘Briefing’ (journaling/self-care prompt)
I’ll post a question, generally character-driven, to get you thinking. If you want to journal, journal! Often times it will be self-care related, but other times it’s a get-to-know-you prompt.

Sound good?

If you look to the left you’ll see I have an AvenJuly2015 tab, where I’ll be keeping resources, masterposts, etc. Feel free to browse through that if you’re feeling lost.

I’ll be tracking the tag #AVENJULY2015 to see what you amazing people are doing, but please tag me, @therightmotivation, so I don’t miss it!

Heroines with Sass

Since this is where I’m allowed to be as nerdy/dorky/geeky as I so choose here:

“I was good enough for you once.”

“Never quite good enough.”

I love Marguerite Blakeney. Seriously. Even brokenhearted, being harassed by a former friend, blackmailed into betraying someone she considers a hero, she’s still quick-witted and clever enough to give nearly (yes, nearly—she still was tricked into inadvertently handing her husband over to his greatest enemy) as good as she got.
