Last night, I got to see the Manhattan Concert Productions concert performance of Parade. I honestly have no words for how incredible this concert was. To start, Jason Robert Brown himself conducted the New York City Chamber Orchestra along with a large chorus made of high school and college students from around the world (US,UK and AUS). Then to top that off - the cast was phenomenal and included a bunch of broadway favourites such as Laura Benanti, Katie Rose Clarke, Jeremy Jordan, Ramin Karimloo, Andy Mientus and more. I didn’t know too much about Parade before last nights performance. I was familiar with the creative team and 1-2 songs but other than that, I went in there blind and I’m so glad I did. The music was so powerful and the wall of sound produced by the main cast and the chorus during “The Old Red Hills of Home” was incomparable. I have to give a special shout out to the performances of both Jeremy Jordan and Laura Benanti - whom I have been fans of for a long time and truly brought this show to life in its concert setting. If you are able to see a recording or stream of this show - I would highly recommend doing so and Cailin - I wish I was able to share this phenomenal concert with you!
