avatar fan panel

anonymous asked:

Aaron Ehasz had some really interesting ideas. I really liked his writing and how it shaped the Avatar world. I talked to him at an Avatar fan panel and he told me he wanted to make more Avatar episodes and even have Zutara happen o_O

It’s really interesting seeing glimpses of what happened behind the scenes in A:TLA, and who was responsible for what  as far as characterization is concerned. Not only did he contribute some of the best ideas; he seems to have been the idea proofreader of the group. If he says, “Let’s do this!” (Toph and Azula being girls, Iroh as mentor figure, Tales of Ba Sing Se) or “Let’s not do this!” (Katara being the love interest in a triangle with Aang and boy!Toph), odds are you should listen. Yes, Bryke, lookin’ at you. I’m also not surprised that Zutara would be at least an idea he and Elizabeth entertained, just looking at Zuko and Katara’s interactions in their episodes.

One of my missing art books has been found! Panel contestant 8 who cosplayed as Kuvira contacted me! She is taking very good care of my art book, and will return the book soon. Now my art book has seen even more smiling wonderful faces <3

The second missing book will probably not return. It was given to a young cosplayer who is not on social media. She was cosplayer number 7, and was feeling shy, so we opted to give her a prize nonetheless. I am happy a signed book lives with her now. I have two years of signatures in that book she can enjoy (both from SDCC and NYCC).

I stopped lining up to have my own books signed a while ago. I now line up to get signatures for fans who could not make it. This year I did not line up at all to make sure I could help get fans into the signings. So I am at peace that one of the missing books will bring a young cosplayer a bit closer to the creators she admires.

Thank you everyone!! Thank you SFT404 <3

SDCC Avatar Legacy Fan Panel 2015 Details!!

Hello Hello Hello!

SO MUCH LOVE TODAY!! Congratulations America. You are basking in a spectrum of love and pride! Finally!

But, I will stay on topic now…

I am posting the fan panel details now because I do not want there to be any confusion. It seems there is a Dark Horse Avatar the Last Airbender panel with the awesome Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko on Friday, July 10th.

The fan panel is not associated with this panel, though our panel is the very next day, at the very same time, in the very same room…

SO, without waiting another moment, here are the details for the Avatar Legacy Fan Panel: Legend and Legacy SDCC 2015:

10:00am – 11:00am Avatar the Last Airbender – Legend and Legacy: The story of Aang and Korra has ended in one form, but continues in graphic novels and through the fans. For over 6 years, Avatar Legacy has been hosting panels celebrating the fan’s love and loyalty. Moderated by Avatar_Mom, this year we welcome the talented Magda  Escobedo Bazaldúa  (Fan Artist), Kevin Coppa (Puppetbenders), Giancarlo Volpe (Director ATLA - Producer Green Lantern the Animated Series), Aaron Ehasz (Head Writer-Avatar the Last Airbender), Dante Basco (Voice Actor-Zuko), Jack DeSena (Voice Actor-Sokka), and Darcy Rose Byrnes (Voice Actor – Ikki). We may even have surprise guests! The panel also hosts a cosplay contest open to all levels of skill. Hopefuls must be in the panel room to be considered by our scouts. Room 25ABC

We will have a live reading with the voice actors during the panel and a Q&A if time permits (so lets make sure that happens! woo!). Also, there will not be a live martial arts demonstration this year. SDCC seemed a bit nervous about any interactions on the floor. This year, fans who have been inspired by the series to study martial arts, shared their photos and videos with our panel! Thanks loves!

To help fans who cannot attend the fan panel, we are having a few online contests. Winners will be announced at the fan panel!

One is a haiku contest that was recently announced. So far there have been a few entries, but we need more in order to have enough to choose from. Jack De Sena will read the winning haiku at the panel!

The second contest is still being hammered out. It will be an Avatar crafts contest. This is great for all the jewelry makers, knitters, paper artists, doll makers, etc. We are deciding on a few factors before we announce the contest. So stay tuned!

This is my favorite time of year. I can’t wait to see so many of you again. So exciting!

So I entered one of the online contests for the Avatar Fan Panel at SDCC 2k15. It was a haiku contest, and I’m not sure when they’ll announce winners, but mine is super korrasami, and I hope that it comes through. It was simple, and while poetry isn’t my forte, I tried.

(It would be crazy if somehow, I won as one of the favorites. I’d get the option to win merch, but I’d literally be like, “Raava take the wheel.”)

I’VE NEVER BEEN TO AN AVATAR FAN PANEL BEFORE BUT IF I EVER DO GO TO ONE I’LL BE THE ANGRY CHICK IN THE BACK OF THE ROOM WEARING A RED SCARF AND MAKO T-SHIRT SO PEOPLE KNOW WHO TO F UKC I NG F I G H T

im praying that janet or some other korra va’s gonna be like dante basco where they’re always hangin around at comic-con every year for the avatar fan panel or w/e and possibly being a guest at a convention i can actually go to because i swear to god korra might be almost over but conventions with korra guests don’t have to be i wiLL MEET ONE OF THEM I SWEAR TO FUCKING G OD

SDCC 2014 - Avatar Legacy Fan-Panel

This footage was taken by Ryan Harvey and Matthew Downen. The panel had a few glitches, but it was amazing nonetheless.

Avatar/Korra fans from SDCC - THANK YOU!! You showed up in the hundreds, and some were in line before daylight
