F.A. “Butzi” Porsche (1935-2012)

We are almost as sorry to hear of his passing as we are sorry that a certain type of “male” has latched onto his auto design as their penile replacement. The quintessential, “macho” designer also designed salon pieces for hairdressers and home furnishings. Just a reminder that he designed for more than just the “napoleon complex” and will be missed.

Made it!

We decide to not walk back, and we take the bus instead! we have a big day of getting back to Cusco coming up.

The train we had booked only goes half way back, with limited time and resources we need to figure out how we will proceed. It’s not like toronto with ttc, via rail, and go transit.

Apparently there are buses, but they can take hours stopping here and there, we have to be at the airport by 3. I keep being as positive as possible, it was the first wrench in the trip really.

The lady working the front desk of our hotel tells us about cabs that will do the drive. It’s faster and better than taking the buses or riding the train.

The train ride was slow, and kept stopping to let other trains pass, this gives me a bit of tension but I figure so far everything has gone just fine.

Herb and I arrive at the Sacred Valley and find a driver. It’s a beautiful village, and everything around it is just the same. We actually were lucky to go this way.

Snow capped mountains!

Our driver is quiet, and I catch him almost nodding off. He puts on music, sings along and snaps his fingers. At some point I offer him Pringles.

We arrive in Cusco and drive through downtown. It is not like anything I have ever seen before. I see a young boy, maybe 12ish making tin roofing, families in their stores, a huge market of cages selling puppies and dogs…I wish I could have walked around there.

We get to the airport. Time for Lima.

Herb and I got to sit at the emergency exit and were instructed that if we didnt know what to do if shit went down to move seats. I quickly read to booklet, and was like aaaaaaaaahhhhhh yeah I got this!

We fly over all the mountains and roadways we had taken to get there. In just over an hour we land.

IDEO samo-riadiacie jednotky

Taktiež by mohli poskytnúť pracovníkom dostatočné denné svetlo a zelene.
