“Philip Pullman is an atheist whose critical views of religion and theism make their way into his novels. Now that the first of a trilogy of works is coming to movie theaters, Christians in America are expressing great concern over the content. It’s OK for films to express pro-religion and pro-Christianity views, I guess, but if a film expresses any criticism of Christianity — even indirectly — that’s a problem!”
I was thinking about this the other day. Why is it okay for movies to be pro-christianity views, but like they said, if there is any sort of criticism to Christianity, it’s not? I’m not saying we should argue against pro-chistianty movies being shown, but I’m merely asking that people respect the views of those movies that are the opposite of their beliefs. I don’t care if we are a Christian dominated society, not everyone is Christian. I seriously won’t stand for this anymore. I’m sick of it. Even movies like Harry Potter were attacked because it’s “teaching children witchcraft!” Like seriously? HP and His Dark Materials are fantasy books! NOT REALISTIC FICTION! I’m so fed up with this! People need to accept that other people have ideas and they aren’t hurting your children, okay? Done with ranting for now. Please feel free to comment, I’m interested to hear what you all think about this. I’m just getting sick of this.
