Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can’t help falling in love with you
Shall I stay, would it be a sin
If I can’t help falling in love with you
Falling in love during an apocalypse wasn’t ideally how you had planned it, but it happened. You had met Glenn when the breakout of the walkers started. Your aunt Lori, was the one to introduce you when you had got into the group and from then on you were hooked.
It started out as an innocent flirtatious actions around one another, but quickly moved to an actual relationship. Glenn brought life to the now dead world. You knew you two were meant to be, you just didn’t know it was under these circumstances.
Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes some things aren’t meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can’t help falling in love with you
The small camp that you had called home for a little while was eventually invaded and you had to move on. While moving, Carl had gotten shot, which brought everyone to stay on the Greene family farm. It was there that Glenn met Maggie. She was a fresh face and you were afraid. Not afraid of or hurting you or anyone, but afraid that she would snatch Glenn right out of your hands and you couldn’t have that.
Glenn had noticed you backing off and he knew why. He knew that he had to prove his love to you and he knew how.
One day Glenn had told you he was going on a run with the others and you thought nothing of it until the day started to get later. Sure Glenn has been on runs before, but not for this long.
Just as you were about to worry even more, you saw the car pull up. You let out a long breath that has felt like you were holding it in the whole time he was gone. You thought of how ridiculous it was to worry so much, but you just couldn’t help it.
Glenn has walked up to you and you were confused to see that he had a guitar in his hands, but before you could ask any questions, he hurriedly pulled you away from the porch to the tree that sat in front of the farm house.
You were still so confused by the guitar, but he stopped you from asking any questions, making you wait even longer.
“(Y/N), I’ve noticed you backing off. I know why and I’m not dumb, but you need to understand that I love you. I-I’ve never felt this way, but I know this love is real. I would do anything to jeopardize it.” Glenn couldn’t help but stumble over his words when speaking to you - you always made him nervous.
Glenn started to strum some cords on the acoustic guitar. At first you couldn’t tell what the cords were from, but as he kept playing, you couldn’t help but smile big. He started to play your favorite song, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Glenn has told you once that he couldn’t sing, but you didn’t know how how well and you were stunned and how angelic his voice was.
When he was finished performing is when you felt the small tears roll down your cheek. You didn’t know how much he loved you once Maggie came around, but after seeing and hear him play for you, you knew he loved you more than words could ever describe.
The song he played fit perfectly, because you couldn’t help but to fall in love with the pizza delivery boy.
