While King George III did considerably very little to oppose slavery ACTIVELY, however the King would do everything he could to oppose it PASSIVELY, persuading his family to do the same. One of the things he did was have no sugar with his tea, and try his best to completely eliminate it from his family’s diet. While Queen Charlotte followed what George was doing, his daughters obeyed this rule most of the time, unless they went to visit their brothers. The only two sons that didn’t use sugar in their tea after leaving Windsor were Adolphus and Augustus.
