atrocities against humankind

i get what you mean abt reframing old horror stories thru a new lens. tbh i get really critical of the application of tech, like how convoluted ‘white bear’ is to torment one person. or white christmas, where a perf copy of your consciousness is tortured and broken just so you can have a good cup of coffee. joke’s on me tho b/c i keep watching it!

DUUUUUDE I’VE WANTED AN EPISODE ABOUT SIMULATION ETHICS FOR EVERRRRR, IF THEY EXPLORE THAT I’M GONNA PEE MYSELF.

This entire season especially, I was like, where is the UN on this. Where is this universe’s next Asimov. Black Mirror society is in the process of committing the next round of atrocities against humankind, and I wanna really see what a simulations’ rights movement looks like. Do people retweet philosophical musings on what it means to be alive to the choir. Do protest rallies chant COGITO ERGO SUM.

Also: think of the love triangles– or even love squared to the nth degrees– you can create when you can copy a consciousness and they go down different paths. Think of how fucking awkward it would be to bump into your ex and the version of you that became a doctor at a restaurant where you’re the waiter.
