Ostraka (pottery fragments) used in the ancient Athenian practice of ostracism, in which a citizen who had been deemed too powerful or dangerous to the democratic system was exiled for ten years. Athenians would write names (in this case, Megakles, son of Hippokrates, ostracized in 486 BCE. the practice continued until 417 BCE, a year in which a man named Hyperbolos was ostracized as part of a cynical political fight with another faction.

My favorite thing about Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, besides Kassandra, is that I could literally show up in an area, completely destabilize it, and then roll up 2 minutes later to defend it from encroaching forces.

Like of course I’m not the same person that pillaged your nation chest yesterday. Why in the world would I show my face here?

Please pray for us here in Greece.

Three different places near Athens were destroyed by massive forest fires.

180+ people are severely injured and burnt.

50 people and counting were found dead on the streets, in their cars or houses, including families that were found hugging each other.

100+ are missing.

This is a national tragedy. So many were lost because of ARROGANT PEOPLE.

Spreading awareness. There’s no need for such things to happen, so many lives were destroyed for no reason.

This was what was happening the previous days at some regions of Attikis at Greece. Almost 88 humans lost their lives when they were trying to save themselves, their kids, their relatives and neighbors. There are almost 187 humans injured and a lot of people are missing. Families have been lost as they were trying to run away from the flames. Many of them jumped in the sea and they made it but some others didn’t. More than 1000 houses burned. People have been forced to swim for more than 4 hours to survive. This was a terrible event and it happened so fast because of the wind. No one would want to happen this at them. This was and this is a fight for life for people who lived and live there. There were so heartbreaking events, people burned alive, parents died with their children holding them at their hug. We are all sad here in Greece, contrite, our hearts hurt. It is a national tragedy. Please, pray for us. Pray for Attiki. Pray for Greece.

You want to know how bad the fires are?

The fire got so fast to the coast people had to jump to the sea to get away. Some drowned some survived. Near the coast theres a cliff people there either died from the flames or died from jumping off the cliff.

Raise awareness people. Wether it is no to pollution and those goddamn lit cigarettes thrown out. Or even the plastic that will burn from the sun.

Pray or not. Pass this around to wake some people up.

Deadly wildfires ravage coastal region near Athens, killing dozens

Wildfires sweeping through a Greek resort town killed at least 60 people, officials said, including families with children found clasped in a last embrace as they tried to flee the flames.

The inferno was by far Greece’s worst since fires devastated the southern Peloponnese peninsula in August 2007, killing dozens. It broke out in Mati, east of Athens, late Monday afternoon and was still burning in some areas on Tuesday. (Reuters)
