at the end of the performance

i just had an either genius or stupid idea for a variety show

so two kpop groups are chosen and one member of each group has to switch with the other for a certain period of time, probably a week

so say it was mina from twice and johnny from nct: mina would move into the nct dorm, johnny into the twice dorm. they would learn each other’s choreography (signal and cherry bomb) and would act as if they were always a part of the group. at the end of the week they would perform with their “new” groups on a music show (inkigayo, music core, etc)

idk this is what happens when i daydream while working on summer assignments ok

I was not expecting NU’EST W to break down and cry the way they did

Everything seemed fine, then as soon as they were about to sing Hello 2017 ver, Baekho mentioned their hardships and all the “incidents” (for him of course, the rumours about him, and the tragic sudden passing of his father, Rest in Peace), and this is when the other members lost it seeing Baekho cry, and they started crying themselves.

I thought they were just nervous because they haven’t done a proper performance in over a year and were scared to cover Minhyun’s parts. But it seems they were holding a lot more inside, a lot of pain, and suddenly let it all out in the end.

Jonghyun said how hard the past almost 6 years have been, they all did. They thanked their fans over and over again, they still think they are living in a dream. Ren even posted in the fan cafe today saying that at times all the members wanted to quit and run away, but Loves made them fight through it.

I really wasn’t prepared for them to cry like this, I haven’t seen all of them (Minus Minhyun) cry like this since JR’s letter in 2014 to the members. Baekho’s pain was enough to make the other members unable to control themselves, they are so deeply close it’s like their reactions are connected.

JR and Ren crying I wasn’t as shocked about, but to see Aron as well as Baekho… I’m still in shock.

When they performed Hello 2017, they did so while crying, JR’s rap and Baekho’s vocals gave me chills. He put his whole body and soul into his rap, I felt all four of their emotions so deeply- this was the most emotional performance they have EVER done

I felt their pain of being apart from Minhyun, Baekho’s personal struggles and everything they have been through for so many years, all compiled into one hell of an emotionally overbearing performance.

Today marks a special day in history for NU’EST, not only a complete music chart reversal. But today feel’s like closure. It feels like they let all their pain and emotion out today, in order to be stronger tomorrow. They reminded us they are 5 members today as well.

I think I am finally able to accept Minhyun is in Wanna One because the NU’EST W members have accepted it.

I cried a lot today. From now on together with NU’EST, we can be stronger tomorrow, and fight even harder for their dreams to come true.

One thousand nights ago, you might have been listening to Taylor Swift’s 1989 for the first time. You might have blasting “Blank Space,” learning how to sing along to “Style” and gearing up to dance along to “Shake It Off” on the inevitable 1989 tour. October 27, 2014 seems like a long time ago now — as of Sunday (July 23), it was 1000 days ago — and since the release of Swift’s fifth album, the pop superstar has stayed extremely busy.

Could we talk about her charity work, the Kanye West-Kim Kardashian West drama, the AT&T deal, the Tom Hiddleston? Of course. But let’s focus, as Taylor often does herself, on the music. As fans await Taylor Swift’s post-1989 full-length follow-up, let’s review the songs that she’s given us (or performed, or co-signed) since her last opus.

By the end of 2016, it had become clear that Taylor Swift was not going to continue her streak of releasing a full-length album every other year, as she had done from 2006 up to 1989 in 2014. Yet three weeks before the end of last year, Swift returned with her first post-1989 song: “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” a duet with Zayn that was part of the Fifty Shades Darker original soundtrack. Produced by Taylor’s pal Jack Antonoff and following in the success of Fifty Shades soundtrack songs like The Weeknd’s “Earned It” and Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do,” “Forever” became Swift’s second soundtrack hit (following “Safe and Sound” from The Hunger Games) and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song’s video, released last January, has a whopping 361 million YouTube views.

Swift has also spent the downtime between albums to collect a few songwriting credits: “Better Man,” Little Big Town’s latest country hit, was written by Swift… although it wasn’t revealed that the pop superstar had penned it until a few weeks after its October 2016 release. “Better Man” topped the Hot Country Songs chart, and has been performed by Swift exactly once (more on that later).

Meanwhile, Swift also sneakily co-wrote “This Is What You Came For,” Calvin Harris’ hit from last year featuring Rihanna, under the pseudonym “Nils Sjöberg.” She was eventually outed as having a hand in her ex’s Top 10 smash, and the song’s official credits now include Swift’s name. She has performed it exactly twice (more on that later).

Aside from those three songs, the big music news of Swift’s post-1989 run has been where her previous output has been available. After famously locking herself in a stalemate against Spotify and agreeing to have only Apple Music serve as her streaming host, Swift unleashed her catalog upon all streaming services — Spotify, Tidal and Amazon included — on June 9, 2017, the same day that Katy Perry just so happened to release her new album, Witness. Four of Swift’s albums, including 1989, returned to the Billboard 200 albums chart following the streaming free-for-all.

The entirety of the 1989 world tour was contained in 2015, and the 85 shows became that year’s biggest tour, taking in more than $200 million worldwide, per Billboard Boxscore. The big difference between 1989 and Swift’s previous tours, of course, was that she graduated to stadiums from arenas on her latest live run, and she’ll likely continue in that format whenever she goes back on the road. The tour was also captured in The 1989 World Tour Live, a concert film shot in Sydney and released in partnership with Apple Music in December 2015.

Ten months after her 1989 tour wrapped up, Swift decided to put on a one-off show last October at the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in Austin – her only performance of 2016, and the first time she played “This Is What You Came For” herself (in a solo piano version, no less!). “As a songwriter, the most rewarding feeling in the world is writing something and then having the crowd sing it back to you because they know the words,” Swift said during the show.

Swift played the track again at a pre-Super Bowl performance in Houston earlier this year, in an event dubbed the AT&T Presents DIRECTV NOW Super Saturday Night. She also played “Better Man” and “This Is What You Came For” at the show, which has been Swift’s only performance of 2017… so far.

By now, we’ve all seen the seven music videos that came from the 1989 era. Some fun stats about them: the three biggest videos (“Shake It Off,” “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood”) have become Swift’s first to cross the 1 billion mark on YouTube, while the controversial “Wildest Dreams” clip is one of Swift’s five most-viewed videos ever at this point (“You Belong With Me,” from Fearless, rounds out that top tier). The live video for “New Romantics” was unveiled as an Apple Music exclusive, and has 66 million YouTube views to date. Joseph Kahn directed four of the videos, including “Out of the Woods,” which was filmed in New Zealand.

Essentially, Swift released 1989 in October 2014 and the accolades started pouring in almost immediately after. She was named Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2014, and “Shake It Off” was nominated for record of the year and song of the year at the 2015 Grammys. The song didn’t take home either prize, but Swift nabbed the big one the following year, when 1989 won album of the year at the Grammys in 2016. After previously winning the award for Fearless, Swift became the first female solo performer to win multiple AOTYs at the Grammys.

The Grammy win (along with two others in 2016) was simply the crown jewel in a long list of major achievements in the past 1000 days. Swift also won Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs in 2015 for “Bad Blood,” was given the 50th Anniversary Milestone Award at the ACM Awards that year, and 1989 became only the fifth album ever to spend its entire first year in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart. All told, 1989 has sold 6.1 million copies one thousand days into its existence, according to Nielsen Music, and in June, the RIAA certified Swift for having moved 100 million song units, second only to Rihanna among all artists in their rankings.

It’s worth noting that, while never commercially released, the sound of Swift rapping along to Drake and Future’s “Jumpman” does exist in this fair world. In a popular Apple Music ad, Swift rhymes along with the song on a treadmill before face-planting in epic fashion; she also toasted Jimmy Eat World’s “The Middle” and The Darkness’ “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” in separate Apple ads. Consider the homages a subtle co-sign of not just the songs in question, but of Apple’s playlist curation.

The cornerstone of Swift’s post-1989 music activity may very well be the role of “hypewoman” — that is, building up her pals and supporting their music online. She’s got mad love for squad members Lorde, Haim and Selena Gomez, and former tour mate Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” might have very well gotten a mini-bump due to an Instagram post in its favor. The biggest revelation for casual Swifies: Taylor’s still an enormous Kings of Leon fan! “I’ve been waiting for this album for SO LONG and it’s insane, you need it in your life,” she wrote of the rock band’s WALLS. Same with the 1989 follow-up, Taylor.

Hi! This might sound like a weird question, but do you enjoy performing surgery? As a layperson, I have never operated on someone, but I imagine it to be very satisfying somehow (most of the time). Like, you're going in to fix a problem, and by the end, you've probably accomplished it? I imagine it's challenging every time, but also leaves you with a good sense of achievement. Or perhaps I'm totally wrong and after a certain point it becomes tiresome? Thank you for the blog btw <3

I enjoy performing surgery that I’m trained for and is within my skill level. Surgery is challenging, but you’re right in that sometimes it gives you an opportunity to actually ‘cure’ or ‘fix’ the problem. Compare this to medical cases where the problem might get better, but even in a best case scenario we’re constantly watching and waiting for it to reoccur.

Basically, medical cases go on for the entirety of the animal’s life. Surgeons go ‘job done’ and walk away after a few months, at most.

It doesn’t really become tiresome. I mean, I’ve castrated so many dogs, it’s absolutely routine, but it’s still satisfying each time. Big dog spays are a bit more stressful, but there’s still something fun around uninstalling kitten factories.

I can tell you right here and now why Hogwarts don’t use pencils and instead use freaking quills (the worst writing implement I’ve ever held in my hand) and it’s all because of this British school bullroar called “brand image”

The reason we have uniform, out side of trying to avoid class privelage, is that we use our students as human billboards advertising our schools.

But schools don’t just sell an image. They also sell a mythology. Schools put loads of effort into cultivating a history for themselves. You end up with things like photos of trees framed on the wall. Trees! Sometimes as students you’re collectively required to do things which make no sense. I remember in primary school the ENTIRE school had to learn and perform an entire song and dance, and then perform it, in front of nobody. But that event can then be part of the school mythology and used to sell the brand image.

Hogwarts is a school of witcraft and wizardry. And God damn it, the teachers will force you to LARP as witches and wizards to the maximum if it will reinforce their brand image and make sure wizarding families dont start getting thoughts about Durmstrang.

things to appreciate in 2x17

since all I see is malec gifs from the 2x18 promo and people dragging Alec, here’s a few other things to focus on instead:
(sorry it ended up very long)

  • Izzy and Alec being protective of Max especially if you know City of Glass
  • Maia opening up to Simon
  • Izzy’s “stop talking
  • Will’s acting
  • Luke being the voice of rationality
  • Valentine’s tenacity after all this time he still thinks he can take over the world
  • Will Tudor’s incredible performance
  • Alec and Jace’s reaction to the possibility of raising the Angel like are you really surprised? what did you expect??
  • Clary and Jace’s different thinking when it comes to Jonathan and what it might mean (raised as a mundane/raised by Valentine)
  • Clary’s reaction to shirtless Jace because same
  • Will’s portrayal of Sebastian
  • Izzy’s struggle coming to terms with his little brother growing up, and having to let him become the soldier all Nephilim are meant to be, again, especially if you know City of Glass
  • Simon singing
  • they kept the incest storyline with Seb kissing Clary, which I don’t mind, because as someone pointed out, Seb is desperately trying to find some type of love, and this shows that perfectly
  • also just Seb/Jonathan during the whole episode, how he’s trying to get his family back
  • I kinda wanted to, but I can’t avoid mentioning malec, because even though I think Magnus wasn’t fair, their fight was actually good, it showed that they are more than just two men in love, they are also important leaders who have to make hard decisions to protect their people and prevent a war
  • Izzy closing the window (and probably the doors too) when dragging Alec about letting Max go on field she went there to totally destroy his big bro and he did just that (kinda)
  • shirtless Jace
  • just Isabelle Sophia Lightwood in general
  • Dot and how her and Clary’s friendship suddenly became important again
  • let’s all be grateful that the Mortal Mirror is not that little make-up mirror they first showed because boy, that would have been disappointing
  • definitely not on this list is Max not being able to stay out of things he has nothing to do with just track that damn egg back to the mother bird instead of Clary’s half-demon evil brother
  • Magnus crashing things when angry
  • honestly I’m happy Izzy is wearing high heels almost all the time
  • Cleophas calling out Valentine on his bullshit
  • Simon planned a date for Maia!!!
  • Maia and Izzy talking about jaia
  • it took 17 episodes to them to realise not to trust anyone outside the inner circle
  • Simon’s references and nobody understanding them
  • Dot not taking any of the Clave’s bullshit
  • sizzy
  • I’m glad Alec stood up for himself and stood by his decision of not telling Magnus about the Sword. he made the decision that was best for himself and his people, he did what he had to do to prevent an uprising, and he (and we all) know that under other circumstances, Magnus would have understood it
  • the Seelie Queen causing trouble even when she’s not in the episode you gotta admit that’s impressive
  • did I mention Will Tudor because that guy deserves an Oscar

I was just happy that their team decided to let them do something other than those dance moves an acoustic version of down was an innovative idea

I mean I don’t think it was innovative, they use to do it all the time during the Reflection era - it was always the five of them singing standing up with minimum choreography which to me is the best thing for them to really showcase their voices. Over the years the choreographies got harder and harder and let’s not forget that at the end of the day the girls are vocalists, not dancers, except for Mani. Singing and dancing at the same time is fucking hard and I think it’s really a disadvantage for them to be doing it so much. I know it gives people a show and I get that for big awards shows they need some staging, but to do it all the time is really not helping the girls - I hope they’ll get more performances like the Fallon one, because we really got to hear their voices.

Want you back

Cheryl x reader

Request: Hi, I was wondering if I could request a Cheryl Blossom imagine with male reader where they are about to perform and in the locker room, she hears the others talking about her ex and they are sad that he’s taken again but he’s super cute and like she hears he has a new girlfriend, she’s sad and jealous as she sees him and his new girlfriend at her performance and they get back together at the end? Thanks.

Cheryl breaking up with you took everyone by surprise.

People always thought you were the perfect couple but after the events of the summer she needed space.

So you gave it to her.

Months later you started seeing a new girl, it wasn’t serious but word always traveled fast in Riverdale.

Cheryl however didn’t hear the news until she and the rest of the Vixens were getting ready in the locker room before a pep rally.

“I can’t believe Y/N is off the market again,” Cheryl heard one of her teammates complain from the sinks as they were doing their makeup. .

“I know right, she’s not even that pretty, he’s so out of her league,” another Vixen spoke.

Cheryl rolled her eyes at their remarks and went back to stretching.

She missed you but she wouldn’t admit that.

During the performance she tried to keep her mind off of you, she had to focus on the routine.

Everything was fine until she saw you and the girl sitting in the stands.

You had your arm around her waist and she was resting her head on your shoulder as you watched the performance.

This broke Cheryl, she couldn’t tell if she was angry, jealous, upset or what.

All she knew was that she wanted you back.

A few days later she walked into the nearly empty student lounge after school to find you sitting alone on the couch working on homework.

“Hey Cheryl,” you greeted her not looking up from your book, but you could tell those cherry red heels standing in front of you anywhere.

“Y/N,” she said, “so… I hear you’re seeing someone again.”

“Oh yeah… it’s not really serious though, we’ve only been on a few dates,” you clarified still writing out notes on the paper in front of you, “you know how people in this town like to make something out of nothing.”

Cheryl didn’t speak but you knew she was there for a reason.

“I can practically hear you thinking Cheryl,” you joked finally looking up at her, “if you have something to say just say it.”

“I hate that you’re dating someone that’s not me,” she blurted out.

“Cheryl Blossom, are you jealous?” you smiled standing up from the couch.

Suddenly Cheryl was grabbing a fistful of your jacket and bringing you in for a rough kiss.

“What does that tell you,” she said smugly when she pulled away.

“That you miss me as much as I miss you,” you grinned.

This time you were the one to fervently initiate the kiss.

Getting ready for this, I wondered about a lot of things. I wonder what it would be like to perform for 70,000 people. I wonder what it would look like if they were all lit up and just dancing around like no one was watching them. I wonder what would happen if I invited the most amazing artists in the world to come out with me and perform on my stage. Would they do it? I wonder what it would be like to get so lost in it every night and never want it to end. It would be like this. This is the 1989 world tour.

anonymous asked:

so did you manage to watch the ririka/jurina mc? bc i still don't understand why ririka all of a sudden started calling j an idiot (baka) and i'd like for you to explain it to me if it's not too much trouble.

Yeah, I watched it.

Ririka refers to Jurina as one of shounen jump’s heroes, like Goku from Dragon Ball or Luffy from One Piece. She’s the impulsive, straight forward, “positive” like character. She makes this kinda “metaphor” to explain to fans, but especially to antis who are from NMB’s side, why Jurina ended up writing what she wrote months ago in her twitter, when she talked about the kurokami shoujo performance she and the SKE girls did compared to the NMB one (I can’t even remember properly what she wrote, however I remember that it was misunderstood for being kind of a dissing/miscrediting NMB’s original performance or something like that). Ririka keeps on calling Jurina “pure”. She repeats that five, six, ten times. She then makes the shonen jump/Dragon Ball & One Piece heroes metaphor, and then she calls her an idiot. Why? Because Goku and Luffy from those animes are kind of idiots, too. Because they’re impulsive and they never think twice when they wanna do something. Jurina herself says that she’s never able to properly express with words what she wants to say. She says she was so excited about the fact that she and the other SKE girls were able to perform that NMB song that she couldn’t even properly convey that excitement in words and she ended up to mess things up. To which Ririka, amazingly, replies: “Yeah, exactly” - like: “exactly, you idiot”. But I don’t think she does that to be mean. She’s like: “Y’all gotta understand that Jurina is pure, very pure; unlike me, she doesn’t have a cunning character”, she even throws shit at herself in order to make Jurina look “better” or “under a better light”. And that’s tipical of her, to be quite honest. That’s what Suto does. She uses sarcasm and her poker face to kinda call people out on their bullshit, or address certain situations (like pointing out that NMB and SKE don’t really get along) but I don’t think she ever means it in a disrespectful way. She’s clever, though, ‘cause she does it under a sarcastic tone, so that if people take it in the wrong way and start insulting her she can always say that she was kidding or joking.

I read a comment about Harry performing two ghosts at the VMAS in front of Taylor and she running toward him at the end of the song lots of hugs and kisses and boom together again .. ugh 😑

what kind of heterosexual nonsense is this

So if ep. 4 is Helwater could maybe explain DG telling Sam in one of their interviews I forgot which, she thought his performance at the end of the episode broke her heart. Nothing about that storyline broke my heart except having to read it. Think she may have been referring to Jamie and the rosary and William. Am I evil for not caring? I actually think ep.5 will be Jamie free similar to the search. Ending with her going through the stones at the end. Ep.6 starts off with her waking up etc.,

Jamie leaving Willie will be a sad scene. That might fit if they want to establish how Jamie was still lost without Claire after Hellwater. He didn’t belong at Lallybroch and certainly didn’t belong with Laoghaire.

I just watched ep 7 of Murdoch Mysteries “Body Double” and a woman’s husband was murdered out of jealousy, kept upstairs, and they buried a different persons body. They owned a theatre where they performed of course Macbeth, what else, and Murdoch uses the suspects abilities as actors to restage what happened during the murder and knew they were lying because everything they said felt rehearsed and acted. Then murdoch at the end gives the “life’s but a walking shadow” speech. idk if mofftiss is kin with this show but I am kin with this show and I am kin with them so

I just walked the people in my fancy absinthe bar through how to create a “Spice Girls” shirt knot twice, but I only wear dresses and had to recruit a bystanding volunteer who in the end wanted to discuss technique without actually performing.  I am not sure if I am the best or worst bar patron, frankly.
