at least the file sizes are really small

Song: The Thrill (Porter Robinson Edit) by Nero

A lot of my editing style is inspired by Porter Robinson to be honest so I tried to make something to match his music and visuals in his sets. Nothing to special but I felt like sharing. Sorry the quality isn’t as good as my other videos, had to sacrifice it in order to get the file size small enough to upload here.

Hello! You answered some ask about canvas sizes on Paint Tool Sai, but I'm a beginner when it comes to programs like that, so if you could tell me about what width, height and resolution you use? I'm a big fan of your work and you've inspired me to try digital art myself. Sorry to bother you!

Hi there!

that’s no problem! Thank you for asking! Though I don’t use it much anymore, Paint Tool SAI is an excellent program that I love - and it’s really user-friendly imo.

Normally, I work at at least a small print size, like postcard (so, either 4 x 6, or 5 x 7) if I’m sketching. I used to be really bad for (especially using SAI) for not bothering to change the canvas size on a new file and finding out that it was at a high resolution… but was at like… 1 x 2 inches :P

So, either 4 x 6, 5 x 7, or if I know I’m going to be finishing it/posting it somewhere/printing it, 8.5 x 11 at about 300 DPI.

One this I have noticed is that it REALLY doesn’t like working big at that resolution, for example if you try and create a file that’s 11 x 17 at 300 DPI it will actually open a file that’s less than that size without telling you - so be careful of that if you work larger than 8.5 x 11.

I hope this helps! Honestly I’m happy to answer anything - it’s no bother, and I feel so honoured that I could inspire you to make your own art! I wish you all of the luck, and if you ever feel comfortable posting it, please show me some day. :)
