This is the first deep sky photo I’ve taken with my Canon 6D. The camera is unmodified, and I’m impressed with its performance. Exposure: 53x300s, 15x60s, 20x20s second exposures at ISO 1600 Camera: Canon EOS 6D (Unmodified) Filter: Unfiltered Telescope: Orion ED80 with .85x Focal Reducer Mount: Losmandy G-11 Guider: Orion SSAG through ST80 Date: 11/27/2016 Exposures shot RAW in BYEOS, stacked in Deep Sky Stacker, and processed in Photoshop

This is an interesting area often overlooked because it’s right between bigger and brighter M16 Eagle and M8 Lagoon nebulae. I quite like the 2 little blue reflection nebula bottom right of the Ha emission nebula.

NGC7293 - Helix Nebula by Jason Jennings
Via Flickr:
NGC7293, the Helix Nebula resides in the constellation Aquarius and is dubbed the “Eye of God”. It is one of the closest of all planetary nebula at a distance of approximately 450 light years and is about half the size of a full moon. Despite its size, the light is spread over a large area making it a difficult object for visual observation. The nebula displays different ionisation levels of ejected matter from the dying central star. The inner blue hue indicates the presence of excited oxygen atoms, while the vibrant red outer structure consists of hydrogen and nitrogen atoms. Image is a [HA+L][HA+R]GB composite with an OIII overlay clipping mask.
