The Nona Tapes

Release date: December 12th, 1995.

Recorded: 1995.

Length: 25 minutes and 03 seconds.

Label: Columbia Records.

Produced by: Toby “Flobee” Wright and Alice in Chains.

The Nona Tapes is a mockumentary by Alice in Chains. It is no longer for sale so it’s considered a rarity. There’s parts of it all over youtube in case you want to watch it. According to Jerry, it was Layne who came up with the idea of making it happen.

The context follows aspiring journalist Nona Weisbaum (which is played by Jerry Cantrell) on her quest to find some “Seattle rock stars” for a breakthrough story. Throughout the video, Weisbaum scours the streets of Seattle and eventually finds & interviews the members of Alice in Chains (besides Jerry Cantrell’s because of obvious reasons). Entwined between Nona’s segments are interviews revealing the lives of the band members, and interview of footage regarding the self-titled album.

The video is really odd/strange but still funny. Nona approaches with Sean Kinney, whom in his spare time spends it working as a clown, Mike Inez, saying that he attends a Hot-Dogs stand called “Hot Dogs” and Layne Staley who ends up smoking on a pile of garbage bags and drinking juice. Everything completely ironic.

With all of this; it shows a little not so known for everyone. Their sense bizarre and acid sense of humor.

It also includes the videoclip for “Grind” and and outtake footage overdubbed with “Heaven Beside You”

That stupid, sheltered, silver-spoon sucking sorry sack of shitbread—

I am going to kill Adrien… I just have  to think of a way to dispose of the body…

  • Lye?no, there’s only one bathroom in my house, and the twins would totally rat me out to mom.
  • The Dupain-Cheng Ovens?Sabine would probably be down for it, but Mari might get upset…
  • The Seine?nah, too cliché.
  • Pigeons?poetic justice, but there’s a law against feeding them. Plus, too public.
  • Chat Noir’s Cataclysm? …hmmm. I wonder if he reads the Ladyblog…?

Agreste is a dead man if he ever makes Mari cry like that again. Period.

…dammit, that pun was unintentional.

Kit Walker // Worth it.

I walked through the common room staring at the insane people. Some rocking back and forth, some staring into space and some talking gibberish to themselves. All apart from Kit. Kit was thrown into the asylum after being framed for the bloody face murders and I, an aspiring journalist, was put in here for trying to expose some of Briarcliff Manor’s deepest secrets.

Kit had told me his story, and I genuinely believed he was not bloody face. He was a sweetheart, not at all capable of those hideous murders. Over the course of a month, Kit and I had become close, and I knew I had probably caught feelings for him.We were best friends, so when a random guy squeezed my ass in the common room, he was anything but happy.

I felt a sharp pain on my behind and I let out a small squeak. I figured it was probably Kit so I turned around and laughed. My face dropped. “Errm” I said, my throat getting dry. It wasn’t Kit. This guy was huge and I really didn’t wanna confront him.

“Hey sugar.” He said smirking, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. I backed up. “Don’t be shy.” He said, stepping closer.

“Leave me alone.” I managed.

“What?” He said, a look of disbelief on his face.

“Leave her alone.” I turned around to see Kit, anger evident with the look he was wearing. “She said leave her alone.”

I stepped behind Kit, relieved he had been there. “Or what?” He said, squaring up to Kit. “ I could fuck her brains out and you wouldn’t be able to do nothin’”

Kit swung at the guy, easily breaking his nose. The guy punched Kit in the stomach. Kit swung again. Even with the guy’s height and obvious strength, Kit had the upper hand. The man was lying on the ground, half conscious with Kit still beating the living daylights out of him.

Sister Jude’s whistle blew and he stopped. It took everything in him to not kill that wretched man. Sister Jude stared at Kit in disgust.

“He started it.” Kit said, wiping blood from his top lip, and with that, Sister Jude dragged him away.

*Later that night*

Kid trudged into the common room after the earlier events, clearly in some pain. He sat beside me and winced.

“Are you ok? What happened?” I asked, concerned for him.

“60 lashes” He replied.

“Im so sorry, Kit, I really a-”

He cut me off “Relax Y/N, it’s not your fault everyone wants a piece of you.”

“Your gorgeous Y/N, I can understand why people want you. Maybe if I wasn’t so jealous I would’ve let that one go.”

“I wouldn’t have gone for that guy anyway.” I said, easing him into my confession.

“Which other nut-job would you have picked then?” He laughed.

He laughed, “Thanks for that self esteem boost but no one woul-”

My lips were on his in an instant. His lips tasted like blood from the fight, but I couldn’t care less. It was as if it was my first kiss all over again, sloppy, unpractised, yet still tender and loving. We pulled away and I buried my head into the crook of his neck.

“That 60 lashes was so worth it.” He laughed.

What happens next?

[…] After four years of related abductions across the county, an entire family disappears without a trace. With local authorities doing little to solve the case, it falls to two high school wannabe-detectives to bring their friend home: Louis Tomlinson, a dauntless city boy thrown headlong into the suburbs, and Zayn Malik, an aspiring journalist with a feel for dirty secrets. There’s also the matter of the Styles next door, who raise more questions than they answer.

What do you do when your best friend asks you and your (now) ex to be the best men at his destination wedding? You can either tell him the truth, tell him you’re not together anymore, and deal with the consequences, or you can pretend you’re still together and roll with it, just pray you don’t spiral. Fake it ‘til you make it. You know, for the sake of the wedding.
Harry and Louis choose the latter.

my favorite and least favorite part about the craig blog: craig is such a private guy that without a third party (stan and kyle) to post about his life nothing gets shown if he doesnt want it said it wont be until its shown in a story post for context
its a really interesting but really frustrating character element that i wish i had the skill to surpass without being transparent
but there will be updates more often soon when he goes to visit his mom and itll be more like a blog scenario (craig being an aspiring journalist/photographer having something to do with that) and craig will blog actively about a whole developing thing over the summer mostly
but for now he stays in his dorm parties on the weekends and is normally so tired he forgets to update his own dang blog so we get to deal with that until about may or thereabouts

()- There had been many questions swimming in her mind just now upon seeing her friend’s somber expression. She knew her friend had been having issues with her mother lately and wondered if it was the only thing troubling her. Usually, it had been the other way around where her friend had been comforting her when things were tough with her parents regarding her sister Polly.

❛ Hey Ronnie, everything okay? Talking about it might help.

()- Betty was happy to see her friend’s usual smile and energy come to life as they hung out. Both of them had been going through tough times with their family stuff that being out of that environment was a good thing. The ideal and usual hangout at Pop’s was just what they needed to relax and have fun. She was interested in talking about more positive things to bring the mood up.

❛ Ronnie aside the reasons you and Kev went clubbing with Josie and Reggie. You had fun, right? I know Riverdale is nothing like New York but it has its moments. I heard bits and pieces from Kev but I’d rather hear the details from you.

Supergirl aesthetics - SuperCat Highschool AU

When Cat Grant, aspiring journalist at a local newspaper, has to write an article about the track race at her school she has to do a short interview with the winner, Kara Danvers.

And she recognizes this girl, always sitting in the library at the same time as herself when she writes her articles, and the best thing is, Kara recognizes her, too.

“Maybe I could sit with you next time? I always learn better when there’s someone next to me working, too.”

“Bring coffee, and it’s a date.”

As prom approaches Kara is set on asking Cat, even though they’re not really dating - although in Alex’s opinion they totally are - but Cat always said that just asking wouldn’t do it.

And this is how Kara sings “Can I Have This Dance” to Cat in the auditorium during their usual writing session.

“You have to stop watching all those Disney musicals.”

“Is that a yes?”

“Of course, you idiot.”

()-  Betty was surprised to find the notorious Queen Bee of Riverdale High had sought her out of all people. Usually, she was usually with her two best friends that liked to gossip about everyone. It made her wonder if this had something to do with her brother or Polly. A lot had been happening lately which now tied their families together. Lately, she’s come to find Cheryl acting differently than usual.

❛ Are you just going to stare at me all day without saying something or are you going to tell me what’s on your mind? I know something is up because you’re not with your usual friends.

I’d just say to aspiring journalists or writers—who I meet a lot of—do it now. Don’t wait for permission to make something that’s interesting or amusing to you. Just do it now. Don’t wait. Find a story idea, start making it, give yourself a deadline, show it to people who’ll give you notes to make it better. Don’t wait till you’re older, or in some better job than you have now. Don’t wait for anything. Don’t wait till some magical story idea drops into your lap. That’s not where ideas come from. Go looking for an idea and it’ll show up. Begin now. Be a fucking soldier about it and be tough.

As an aspiring journalist and someone who loves doing research(that’s what I got my degree in), I decided to be my own person and not let the show dictate my opinions, which is how it should be when following reality tv.(Thankfully I don’t have to do so with The Little Couple love that show).

Let’s start from the beginning. Season 4 nationals was filmed on the fifth(5th) of July. That’s verified by Christi Lukasiak’s deleted tweet(photo #1). On the 10th of July, Abby posted two tweets, both accompanied by a picture and a hashtag aimed towards Chloe and then Christi(photo #2). Two days later, Jill Vertes tweeted a photo with Melissa Gisoni and Holly Frazier with the same hashtag that Abby used as a dig to Christi(also photo 2). And photo #3 shows a comment Abby made on Chloe’s Instagram photo, possibly in August. The gang’s all here? That doesn’t sound like uncertainty to me. Who’s missing? Again, five days after Nationals every member, at least the adults, KNEW the Lukasiaks weren’t returning. How could you say “gang’s all here” if a member of the Mom Squad wasn’t there?

Picture #4 let’s us know when filming of season five began; October 11th. I believe that was the day they filmed the first competition, so technically, if we go by the schedule the girls say they have, then they actually started filming on October 8, 2014. That was one day after the season 4 finale. Picture #5 is a tweet from Jill Vertes saying she and her daughter would miss Chloe and Christi. Hmmm? Wasn’t that the day before, but the very next day before pyramid you were unsure if they were going to return?

Let’s go back to the second paragraph. Jill is quoted in the first episode of season 5 saying “To use social media to hurt other people is wrong.” Okay, but three months prior Abby was doing just that and she blindly followed along by using “#gangsallhere”. Then when Kira arrives she reads the tweet that is picture #6, which had nothing to do with the girls and was in no way negative, but uplifting to her daughter, victims of bullying and a promo for Chloe’s newest project at the time. Did she live tweet during the finale? Yes, just as all the moms on the show do. Is she sometimes brash and loud? Absolutely, but not without reason. But for Lifetime to try and make it seem like she’s trying to destroy Abby and the girls is a downright shame. And for those who are saying she should just move on, I believe she will once the show stops using her and her daughter as a storyline and she doesn’t have to defend her daughter’s public and professional reputation.

I Asked an Expert What Would Happen if I Just Stopped Paying My Student Loans

Yesterday morning I got an email from a young aspiring journalist who wanted to know if a master’s degree was worth it. His plight was pretty familiar: Go deeper into debt in a gamble to give your career a push, or keep on the same path, working a job while trying to cobble together a real-world education equivalent to an advanced degree.

I gave him the usual spiel I trot out when I get emails like that: Go back to school, take a chance! Then, as soon as I’d finished patting myself on the back for taking time out of my day to dole out life advice to a stranger, I was hiding in the back of the office, whispering to a representative from FedLoan Servicing through my cell. My payments had just inexplicably increased from $70 to $1,100 a month, and I was only able to talk them down to $186—an amount I still can’t really afford considering the insane cost ofliving in New York City, where you basically have to pay for every breath you take.

I usually try to forget that I’m almost $100,000 in debt as a result of my education (which is difficult when you have to dodge calls from creditors), but in truth, I don’t have any regrets. If I hadn’t gone to school, I’d still be an Office Depot employee living at her parents’ house in Central Florida. Sure, I’d be financially solvent, but at what cost? Access to higher education might be criminally expensive in America, but if you’re a kid from redneck country with blue-collar parents and no trust fund, Freddie Mac offers a path to a new city and a life outside of what you were born into.
