This basic ‘make do and mend ’ bamboo sheath was made from recycled flower arranging mats left over from a Church ladies flower arranging class.
I thought the Asian inspired sheath went well with the primitive forged blade which is actually a hand forged stick tang knife wrapped in kangaroo leather latigo lace and copper wire .
The sheath is glued down one side to form a welt that secures the live edge, it was then dyed with leather dye and rubbed back with wire wool .
The sinew over wraps are also dyed with leather dye and help to bind the sheath together .
