By providing an unfiltered glance of all forms that identify as feminine, the artists represent subjects as their most raw and true self.

LOOKING FOR LGBTQ & P.O.C CREATIVES who will create thought provoking work that expresses their own thoughts, experiences, on femininity!!!! How do you identify/challenge the idea of feminity?

Art School | Nathan Bell (Los Angeles, CA)

As one of the shows featured in our April First Thursdays, Los Angeles-based artist Nathan Bell’s upcoming solo show ‘Mixed Feelings’ will featured 400 works using materials such as french paper, coroplast, and mixed media.  Self described “introverted over thinker with a design background,” Bell expresses himself through the painted word, or rather words –a whole lot of them. Through experimenting with “language, typography and aesthetic,” Bell’s work focuses on thoughts, ideas, wordplays, inside jokes, reflections, all of which he has been creating for the last two years!

We’re excited to feature him on Art School where we find out more about his works and words! From working with new materials to his process to what we should expect in his solo show ‘Mixed Feelings,’ which opens Saturday, April 22nd at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles.

Last Thursday, I participated in my first art showcase EVER.  I’m officially a RAW artist, and can now participate in any of their upcoming shows in any city.

This show meant so much to me on professional level as well as a personal level.  It was amazing seeing how well received my work was to complete strangers.  I was greeted with so many encouraging words, and lots of sales.  It’s great motivation to know that my work has an audience and that it can do well with my perseverance behind it.

I’ve never spoken to people about my work before, because I have always been insecure about it in the past.  This year has been an amazing, and challenging growing experience for me.  I have grown so much artistically, creatively, and spiritually.  This is only the beginning for even better experiences and more challenges! But I will achieve everything I set my mind to, it is all tangible.

Holy fuck I love Meli. She just invited me to showcase my photography at her art show in August. Apparently I’m going to showcase and maybe sell my photographs. I am honored beyond words. I can’t believe it. Thank You God. Today is an amazing day. I keep getting surprised. I feel blessed y'all :’) if any of you guys are from LA or gonna be in LA in August message me for the info and come join the party!
