Art nouveau ladies’ hand mirror designed by Georges de Fuere, silver, enamel and glass, circa 1900.

De Fuere (1868-1943) is most well known for his theatre designs and posters for Le Chat Noir Cabaret in Montmartre. For his contribution to French design he was decorated as a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in 1901, but died in poverty during the Nazi occupation of Paris.
