A robbery? Ridiculous! There are too many safeguards. During the day, two guards protect the painting, and at night I personally review Art, for Monkees’ Sake.
Peter is tricked into forging a valuable oil painting.
Because I’m writing these reviews in alphabetical order, Art, for Monkees’ Sake comes right after Alias Micky Dolenz, and everything that I didn’t like about that earlier episode is made right. All four Monkees are present and heavily involved throughout the plot. The bad guys’ criminal scheme is high-concept and low-violence, and the band’s solution manages to be clever and wacky at the same time. The episode sparkles with snappy dialogue, delightful hijinks and sly social commentary.
