Just in time for #toonsday! It’s a blast from the far-flung past, and a 4-and-a-half for one update special. All the way from La Brea, CA….

The Fossil Fools!

The boys (Arnie, Ronnie, and Stevie) were gas jockeys/auto-mechanics. They would get into various (mis)adventures as a result of their bumbling. Vickie would often distract them during work or in need of a rescue from the boys’ egregious auto service. Rocky was Ronnie’s pet rock. He’s surprisingly mobile!

They had a short, but mildly-successful run back in the 20s! Wonder where they are now…?

Re: Bucky of the MCU and the character he was based on

Surprisingly, not the original Bucky Barnes from the comics. Bucky in the films is an amalgamation of comics sidekick Bucky and Steve Rogers’ best friend and protector, Arnie Roth, who was essentially what film Bucky was: he beat up bullies who harassed Steve, was gorgeous and popular with the ladies, etc

He also happened to be gay, possibly a little in love with Steve from back in the day, but in a committed relationship with a man in his later years, as shown when Steve reconnects with him.

With all the love for film Bucky I hope you guys don’t forget the gay man and best friend of Captain America that he was based on.

Now we know where Didi gets it from, it’s genetic to be weird. The Schneider clan really loves hot dogs, especially the ones Arnie cooks up (which in fairness are actually gourmet sausages…), but I didn’t think Dori loved them THIS much. Seems like a waste of a month’s profits… unless Arnie’s into this or something.

Happy National Hot Dog Day. Have a slightly inappropriate comic with a socially awkward mother and daughter.
