You were able to reach within everybody’s souls with every song you write and every melody you create. And although you have a way with words that makes it seem like every song you write is a story that everyone has personally been through even if they haven’t., the creative combination of notes and elements you create even without the words is enough to make a person emotional and I think that’s why I truly believe that you’re meant to be where you are right now.  But you know what makes people—your members, your colleagues, your fans and even non-fans—regard you with respect shining in their eyes? It’s the blatant truth you say, the unfiltered thoughts that slip past your lips, and even the reality in jokes you spout.. It’s quite endearing and refreshing to see someone like you—an idol. a celebrity—so, so relatable that unknowingly, in a way, you blur the line between you and us, your fans. Honestly, I could go on and on and on that I’d even rap on the spot about how precious you are to me and to everyone else. *clears throat and bobs head to the imaginary beat* Uhuh. Yeah. Okay. Let’s go. This is a rap. I am rapping now.  About Min Yoongi. And his gummy smile. And his—OKAYYYYY I think that was enough. But just know that I’d do it….. lol.

Never stop showing the same burning passion you have for music (and your dream to become a rock) because that’s how you’ve inspired people in different parts of the world. Never stop letting people believe to keep dreaming and dreaming and dreaming. Never stop saying the truth as it is. And I hope you continue to share parts of yourself in every music you create. Suga. Agust D. Min Yoongi. Min Yoonji. I love you so much. You deserve the world and nothing lesser than the world. The universe even. Happy Birthday, my grumps! #HappySugaDay

a word on dark fuck archie

so i’ve had this theory brewing in my head for a while re: riverdale - a show i am not watching, btw. i’m trying to figure out why, in 2017, a teen soap opera on the cw which is inarguably going for the queer teen demographic like a heat-seeking missile is utterly failing to deliver anything resembling real representation.

like, if you can air betty and veronica kissing, surely you can portray one or both as openly gay or bi? if you can explicitly depict jughead as asexual in the comics - have him say the word, even - what’s stopping him from being asexual on the show? if you’re going to insist your show isn’t “fanfiction,” why pad your show wall-to-wall with queer UST and beg fans to write fic about it?

so i’ve been puzzling all of this out, right, and up until now i’d just dismissed the show as pretty flagrant textbook queerbait.

but then today i saw a post that was like, discussing a storyline in which ms. grindy fucks archie - like, yes, in this show, the matronly senior citizen english teacher is a thirty-something predator who goes after her teenage students? - and the OP of the post was like, “do NOT blame archie andrews for this, blame the writers.” blame the writers. which struck me as an odd choice of phrasing. because we’re three weeks into this show. and the writers have apparently done nothing but make batshit, morally objectionable decisions. and because nobody watching or talking about this show appears to actually enjoy it?

and then it hit me: riverdale isn’t queerbait. oh, no. no, no, no. this is something we’ve never seen before, at least not on this scale.

it’s discourse bait.

there is no reason to believe that every single element of riverdale was not concocted in a corporate laboratory to bait teenagers into arguing about it online. first, lure social justice-minded kids in: diverse casting - polynesian archie, latina veronica, an all-black josie and the pussycats! hint at queer representation - betty and veronica kissing, kevin keller existing, barb from stranger things making an appearance and maybe being a lesbian?

so do all of that, promote the shit out of it, get your fanbase in order before the show’s even aired - and then blow it all to pieces from episode one.

why bother writing a plot when you could write the basis for a million furious micdotcom thinkpieces? why bother writing representation when hinting at representation and then ripping it away generates so much more twitter traffic? no such thing as bad publicity, right? a kid hate-watching the show is still watching the show and running up the ratings. every person who blogs about how shitty this show is inevitably inspires a few more people to go witness the trainwreck firsthand.

it’s like. a breathtakingly clever trap. and thousands and thousands of well-meaning young people have walked right into it. this show literally exists for no other purpose than to generate controversy in an age where teenagers who watch the CW also read bell hooks and foucault. fucking wild.

There are a lot of things that seem like the end of the world. Like when the person you like stops talking to you once you sleep together. Or when you have to watch a person you’re supposed to be over date someone else and you realize that sharp pain in your chest probably means you’re not actually over them.

But what’s even harder is losing someone without getting to say goodbye and not having anyone to talk to about it. Or having to hurt someone you care about because you know what’s best for them and it’s not you.

There are so many times in our lives that our hearts will break. And the bad news is, one of those times will be worse than all the others. But the good news is, it’s probably not what you’re going through right now.

Castiel is staring again.

It happens every time they’re apart for more than just a couple of hours and, actually, it’s kind of comforting when you get used to it. A routine of sorts - a look that Dean understands to mean Let me check if you’re not injured, enveloped with a squint if he even dares to claim that he’s fine before Cas’s examination is over.

Nowadays, Dean just sits in front of the TV in his room and doesn’t complain about the pair of eyes fixed on his face. It’s not like Sam is there to see and tease them about it. As it is, he doesn’t mind.

“You’ve met another angel today,” Cas says then, out of the blue. That has never happened.

Dean frowns. What? “How do you—”

“The osculation residual.”

“The what?”

Castiel lets out a huff and squints harder. “They left a kiss on you.”

“Nobody kissed me.”

“I don’t mean your kind of kiss. The angel’s feather must have stroked over your skin. It left a mark on you.”

Dean rubs at his cheek but stops when Cas shakes his head. “What now?”

“It’s not something you can remove,” he explains, pausing to search for the right words. “I believe you call them ‘freckles’.”

No way.

“How can you tell, though? I have so many of them, I’d never notice a new one.”

Castiel simply looks at him and tilts his head. “This one’s not mine,” he says like it’s completely obvious—like Dean himself should have known this all along.

He hasn’t. And now he does. And he does not know what to do about it.

If you had told Dex even a week ago that he would willingly be sharing a blanket with Derek Nurse on the floor of the Haus living room all afternoon, pressed together so close they’re practically in each other’s laps, he would’ve laughed in your face.

Now, he just bangs a fist against the side of the old space heater in front of them and subtly pulls Nursey a little closer into his side. Not that there’s all that much closer to pull him.

“I told them,” he mutters. “Draft fucking central.”

He not so much sees as senses Nursey roll his eyes. “Rans and Holtzy not letting you replace all the windowpanes last year is not why the heating went out, yo.”

Intellectually, Dex know this. But it’s easier to blame their former captains for their current predicament than it is to blame the fact that he’s let routine Haus maintenance slide so much this semester that they’ve ended up here. Because if Dex doesn’t keep a close eye on things like the barely functioning water heater, or the garbage disposal that’s missing two blades and is about to fall out of the sink entirely, who will?

Except, well, he’s been distracted this year. From the moment he got back from summer break and moved into the attic with Nursey, he’s been… distracted.

Nursey is distracting.

I give you my word. But in order to do that you need to trust my judgement for a little while while yours is reeling.

PLEASE READ IF YOU’RE STRUGGLING.

I’d like to start off by telling you that you’re not alone. And I know, that’s the oldest line in the book, but I mean it, I really do. Because so many people are going through very similar experiences like yours right now and I know that this is hard, I know that you’re in a dark place, and I know that you’re struggling more than you can even put into words. But please believe me when I say there are lot’s of people who understand your pain. Maybe it’s not the people who you wish would understand, but I can promise you, there are people who get it. You can get through this. You are strong and this is just an obstacle that you will overcome. I have so much faith in you, and you are strong enough to make it through these tough times.

It was like nothing you had experienced before. Bucky kissed you like you were the only woman he would ever kiss again. He held you close, his hands spreading across your back, arms warm around your frame. He swiped his tongue between your lips and you let him in without hesitation, feeling pleasure run through your body as he began to explore your mouth.

As I’ve mentioned before, I was raised in a strict Christian household. It was full of love, but it was also a house that didn’t like Ellen DeGeneres or Rosie O'Donnell simply because they were gay. A house that would turn off the tv when the lesbian episodes of Friends were on (while I ran to the tv in my room and pressed “mute” to see it). One that would roll their eyes at the idea of gay marriage. Parents that meant well and just went by what they were taught, wanting us to grow up with something to believe. I remember sobbing in high school, thinking they would absolutely kill me. Things slowly started changing when I was 16+.

My Mom was the one who asked if I was gay. She was my biggest supporter, my secret keeper, and the one I told everything to. My Dad? He went from not wanting me to come out, to protect me, to telling everyone he knows if they ask if I’m “dating any new guys” - because that’s simply who I am. In his words “why hide it? Who cares?”. My Mom came to me about Carol on her own, wanting to watch it to see the love story. When gay marriage was legalized, I called my Mom sobbing. She was sobbing with me, after yelling “YES! THANK GOD” in front of all of her friends.

After being raised to hate who I was, not even allowing it to be an option - to now, my Mother texting me just now saying “Do you have any more Human Rights Campaign stickers like you have on your car? I want one on mine”

Change is a beautiful thing. Believe in it and believe in people.

THAT’S parenting.

Jungkook Soulmate AU

Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four | Part Five

Summary: Jungkook can feel when your entire world falls apart, and his shatters into a million more pieces.

JUNGKOOK’S POV

An immobilizing sense of panic shot through Jungkook, causing him to freeze. He could feel his heart racing in his chest, and his vision became unfocused in his state of unadulterated fear. Immediately, Jungkook sensed that the sudden emotion was being transmitted through your soulmate bond, and soon fear wasn’t the only feeling Jungkook was contending with.

“Y/N? What’s going on?” Jungkook thought helplessly. He moved through the crowd, leaving behind whichever girl he had been talking to, and tried to escape the confines of the party. The sense of panic he had been feeling had suddenly ceased, which was even more worrying. “Talk to me–are you alright? Fuck! Y/N!

By the time Jungkook reached the front door, he was covered in a sheen layer of sweat–in part from the heat of the party, and mostly because of his increasing worry. He burst through the door, lurching into the cool, night air.

“Y/N!” he bellowed, head swinging side to side as he searched for you. Cursing, Jungkook realized he had no idea where to even look. He couldn’t hear your thoughts, so relying on luck, he turned to his right and ran.

Jungkook sprinted down the empty road, his footsteps falling heavily and echoing through the silence. His lungs burned and his muscles ached, but the cold grip of fear around his heart kept him running.

In his mind, he could feel your presence slipping away. Even if you were silent, there was always a warm, comforting feeling of your presence. But now, it was being replaced with cold nothingness.

He prayed that you were safe–he knew that he had caused whatever had made you so panicked. Jungkook wished he could go back in time, stop you from leaving. Maybe even go back further, and stop you from hurting at all.

But he knew that it was useless to hope.

As Jungkook turned a corner, he was blinded by bright, flashing blue, red, and white lights. An ambulance was stalled in the middle of the road alongside a single car. Jungkook’s feet skidded to a stop as he stared at the scene unfolding before him.

“No,” he whispered, his voice breaking. Staggering forward, Jungkook’s eyes began to water with unshed tears. A man stood in his path, so Jungkook grabbed him roughly by the shoulders and spun him around. The man stared up at Jungkook, his eyes wide and his face pale. “What happened!?”

“T-there was an accident,” the man explained, his voice shaking. His eye’s darted to the right, so Jungkook’s followed.

On the ground, a girl lay sprawled on the cement in front of the parked car. Two paramedics were kneeling beside her, assessing her injuries as they prepared her body for the stretcher.

Jungkook knew immediately that it was you. His body moved forward on its own accord as Jungkook’s mind screamed.

“No,” he repeated, his voice becoming louder. It cracked as he spoke. The paramedics turned around, alarmed at the sight of the distressed boy.

“Sir, please stand back,” one of them said, standing up with his hands in front of him placatingly. “We need you to stay out of the way so we can get to the hospital.”

“She’s my soulmate!” Jungkook cried, surging forward to get closer to you. The paramedic sprung up, grabbing Jungkook by the shoulders and holding him back. “Let me see her! Is she alive? Oh god–tell me she’s alive!”

Jungkook’s hoarse cries filled the quiet night, his words becoming mangled together until they were indecipherable. Another pair of hands grabbed Jungkook and stopped him from struggling–he was pretty sure they belonged to the man who had hit you.

And god, Jungkook wanted to be angry with that man. He wanted to be furious. But Jungkook knew that everything was his fault. If you died, it would be because of Jungkook. The fight left him, and Jungkook crumpled to the ground.

Silent sobs wracked his frame as he kneeled, watching your lifeless body being whisked away on a stretcher into the ambulance. Sirens began wailing as the ambulance lurched to life, but to Jungkook, the sound seemed far away. He could only stare as the ambulance–as his soulmate–sped away into the night, disappearing into obscurity.

Jungkook’s mind was blank. He felt numb everywhere, he couldn’t even feel his own body. It was like he had slipped away and was watching himself from someplace else, wishing that what had happened wasn’t real.

He wondered if this was all just an elaborate nightmare. If, at any moment, he would wake up never having met you. That way, he had a chance to undo all the mistakes he had made. Jungkook wished that were true, but he knew better than to wish.

“Come on, I’ll take you to the hospital,” the man from before spoke, his tired voice lined with guilt. “Don’t worry son, I’m sure she’ll be alright.”

Jungkook felt himself being lifted, and he stood up shakily. The man led Jungkook into his car, struggling to get the large boy into the vehicle. They rode in silence to the nearest hospital, and by the time they arrived, Jungkook wasn’t sure how much time had passed.

-

Since he had arrived at the hospital, Jungkook had done nothing but stare at the walls in the hallway in front of him, waiting for you to exit the emergency room. After a few hours, your body was whisked away to an intensive care unit. Jungkook followed the line of doctors and nurses that wheeled you away, met by looks of pity.

The doctors tried to explain the extend of your injuries to Jungkook, but their words fell on deaf ears. All he could do was stare at you. You had been moved to a hospital bed, looking impossible small underneath thin, white sheets. There were cuts and bruises all across one side of your face. Like before, you were unresponsive.

Eventually, the room emptied out, and only you and Jungkook remained. He dragged a chair across the room, its legs squeaking against the cleanly polished tiles. Jungkook sat down beside your bed and did nothing but stare.

White walls and the scent of antiseptic surrounded Jungkook. His dark clothing was a stark contrast against all the white and pale grey around him. He hated everything about hospitals–they brought up so many terrible memories.

But for once, he was able to find comfort. The steady beeping of your heart monitor ignited a spark of hope within Jungkook.

From the night into the morning, nurses drifted in and out of the unit to check on you. They cast worried looks at Jungkook, who had not moved in several hours. One even tried to bring to bring him food, only to return an hour later and see it untouched.

People tried speaking to Jungkook again. He couldn’t bring himself to listen properly, but a few words lingered, like “serious head trauma” and “potential brain damage.” Those words echoed around in the background of Jungkook’s mind ceaselessly.

In the time Jungkook had spent watching you, he also had time to think. He tried to recall every one of your thoughts he had heard. Every conversation you had shared. It was impossible to reestablish them all–he had been listening to you for as long as he could remember.

In his life that had been filled with so many horrors and so much sadness, you were the one bright light in the darkness that surrounded Jungkook. And how, that light was so close to being extinguished. With nothing better to do, Jungkook whispered quiet confessions, hoping that even in your unconscious state, you would hear them.

“I’m so sorry, Y/N,” Jungkook whispered, his voice rough after everything he had put it through. “I’m sorry for everything–everything I’ve done, everything I’ve said. I never wanted to hurt you, never. You mean the world to me.”

He could feel his eyes begin to water, but in the sanctity of the empty room, Jungkook did not stop talking.

“I never thought we would meet so soon,” Jungkook confessed, tears slipping down his cheeks. He reached out for your hand, holding it carefully in his larger ones. “I wasn’t ready. Right now, I’m not…I’m not a good person. I wanted to change–become someone you could be proud of. But in the end, you already knew exactly who I was. I wasn’t ready to face you, and I pushed you away. I’m sorry.”

Jungkook kept talking, pouring his heart out to your unhearing ears. He spoke until his voice faltered and he had no more words to say. But even then, he knew it wasn’t enough. He would do anything to make you understand. He wasn’t sure if you could live not knowing if you would every forgive him.

Suddenly, in his clammy palms, Jungkook felt your hand twitch. His eyes widened and jumped to your face. Your eyelids were twitching as you roused slowly. Jungkook leapt to his feet and searched for the assistance button.

“Nurse!” he yelled, his voice cracking. He jammed the button frantically, unsure of what to do as you began to wake.

Jungkook watched in awe as your eyes opened slowly. You squinted into the bright light, your eyes darting around the room as you tried to make sense of what was happening.

“What happened?” you croaked, your voice hoarse after almost a day of misuse. Your eyes moved to Jungkook who was standing beside you. “Why am I here?”

“You were in a car accident,” Jungkook explained softly, a sense of relief flooding through him. His soulmate was alive–everything was going to be alright. “You have a few injuries, but you’re going to be fine.”

“Oh…okay,” you replied slowly, still not understanding. “But why are you here? Where’s Jieun? Who are you?”

Jungkook’s heart stopped in his chest. Did you forget?

“Would you mind telling me the date?” Jungkook asked, sounding much calmer than he felt.

“It’s August 6th, I think,” you said after a moment. Jungkook stared, wide-eyed. You had completely forgotten the past three months. “But that doesn’t answer my question.”

“My name’s Jungkook,” he spoke finally, trying to keep his voice steady. “Y-you may have forgotten me, because of your injuries. But I’m your soulmate.”

“Really? My soulmate?” you repeating, squinting in disbelief. “But you go to my university. Why haven’t you said anything before?”

“We didn’t find out until recently,” Jungkook supplied with a small smile. A nurse burst into the room, gasping when she saw that you were conscious. She called for a doctor, but neither of you paid her entrance any mind.

“Wow,” you breathed, a huge smile lighting up your face. “I can’t believe I finally met you. And that I forgot everything. Will my memories come back?”

“Probably,” Jungkook said, although he wasn’t sure if he wanted that to be true. “We haven’t spent a lot of time together, so you’re not forgetting much.”

“Hey, how do I know you’re not lying?” you suddenly demanded, pointing an accusing finger at Jungkook. It almost made him laugh, and it definitely made him smile. “What’s something only my soulmate would know?”

“When we were younger, we used to think of love songs,” Jungkook remembered suddenly. “You thought of Taylor Swift a lot. I sang ‘Marry Me,’ mostly.”

“Right, we did that,” you confirmed quietly, blushing at the memory. You looked up at Jungkook, your eyes wide and vulnerable. “So, we’re really soulmates. Wow. Do you…do you love me?”

“Yes,” was Jungkook’s immediate response. He realized, in all the times that he had actually spoken to you, that was the first time he had never lied.

Eventually, a doctor entered the room and began asking you questions. Jungkook stared from the sidelines as the examination progressed. The entire time, your eyes kept jumping to Jungkook’s, a bright blush on your face. Every time, Jungkook indulged you with a smile, but he could only wonder when this wonderful illusion would fall apart.

You were eighteen years old when Jimin’s name showed up on your hand.

The day is fresh and clear in your memory: early December, the winds stronger than ever as they threatened to pierce through the windows of your room, hints of snowflake dancing in the air as the first snowfall augured an even sharper winter. There was a smile on your face that didn’t match the unrelenting coldness of the month, and even though the night was falling and the air felt icy on the tips of your fingers, there was only warmth in your chest as you went through the pictures of your phone.

Pictures of you and Jimin drinking hot chocolate, of clumsy iceskating, of funny faces that made you laugh out loud in the quietness of your bedroom. The feeling sparking in your chest could be considered somewhat dangerous— after all, you were just a girl that didn’t have any marks on her skin, a girl whose fate was yet to be decided. Something as enigmatic as love could be a treacherous thing, too risky for someone that couldn’t decide their destiny on their own.

carrie fisher isn’t just princess leia. carrie fisher isn’t just an actress we all admire from a famous series of movies made a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. carrie fisher isn’t just another name on the list of shitty things 2016 has done to people i admire.

carrie fisher is a woman who struggled with addiction and mental illness and never sugar coated it - she spoke honestly, openly, about every ugly truth, and made me so much less ashamed of the things i struggle with in my daily life.

carrie fisher is a woman who fought back against body shaming and misogyny, against agesim, who looked at critics and said “yes, i am a woman who has aged, and had children, and struggled with depression and addiction and my body has changed, so you can just shut the fuck up and deal with it”, and it was absolutely beautiful.

carrie fisher is a woman who was placed in the role of “princess” but didn’t conform to the typical hollywood idea of what a princess should be. she’s loud, brash, crass, and unapologetic for being so.

she’s an idol and an inspiration and she’s a woman who saved my life many times just by being who she was and never shying away from it or feeling the need to say sorry. carrie fisher is so much and more and i cannot begin to stomach the thought of 2016 taking her away from me, from her family, from the rest of the world and those of us who love her so dearly.

i love you, space momma. we all do. keep fighting the good fight.

there’s that little smile on even’s lips when he wakes up in the morning and he stretches out his limbs, an arm landing on isak’s chest, his leg lying on top of his. isak mumbles “ugh, you’re crushing me” and even replies “nuh uh, i’m as light as a feather”. isak’s eyes are still closed and he shakes his head and lets out a small laugh. now there’s a smile on his face, too

there’s that peaceful smile on even’s face after he’s had a conversation on the phone with his mom. he tells isak she wants him to come have diner at his place this weekend, and isak says “of course i’ll come”, and even’s smile becomes bigger

there’s that slightly incredulous smile on even’s face when eskild decides to show him some of the poses he learned that morning in his yoga class, and he tells himself there’s no way that’s how you actually do this, but he goes along with it anyway. there’s also the smile that accompanies his nervous laughter when eskild tells him he should totally join the class, adding that “it’s very good for the spirit.” “sure, eskild, i’ll think about it”

there’s that huge grin on even’s face as he can’t stop laughing when isak tries to make pancakes for the first time, and he put way too much milk in the batter, and there’s basically just a puddle of white liquid in the pan that starts to bubble up. even fixes the batter by adding more flour to it, and isak looks slightly confused and says “i’m usually really good at cooking, i don’t know what happened there”. and when even simply laughs some more and replies “i’m sure you are”, isak punches him lightly on the shoulder and says “i am!”

there’s that toothy smile when he sees magnus for the first time in two weeks, and magnus exclaims “eveeeen!” before wrapping him up in a tight hug, swaying with him a little as he asks “how have you been my friend?”

there’s that fond smile on even’s face when he and sana are sitting at the café next to school, and they discuss religion and politics and today’s youth and the last movie they watched, because her wisdom never ceases to amaze him, and he’s so glad to be able to call her his friend

there’s that big smile, the one that makes even’s eyes become surrounded by crinkles, the one that lights up his whole face when isak paces around his room, scratching his head and asks him if he’s seen his blue adidas jacket, and even tells him that he’s wearing it right now and isak stops to look down at himself and says “oh”

there’s that unique smile on even’s face that only isak is able to bring out, the smile that barely lifts the corner of his lips, the smile that’s mostly in his eyes, a mixture of affection and gratitude and admiration, one of the many ways he says i love you without words, and when isak catches his gaze, he smiles back at him with a similar smile. i love you too
