When you say a fandom is dead, it’s a bit of a blow to people who are still producing and enjoying work for that fandom. You’re basically saying what they’re doing doesn’t matter, doesn’t count, which might discourage them from continuing to participate.

If one person is creating content, the fandom isn’t dead.

If one person is consuming content, the fandom isn’t dead.

If two friends are chatting on skype about their OTPs, that’s fandom.

If someone doodles drawings of their favorite characters on a napkin, that’s fandom.

Just because someone is producing content for one fandom doesn’t mean they have to leave another.

Not every fandom can be the big, new, shiny and popular thing.

Not every fandom *should* be the big, new, shiny, and popular thing.

It’s okay to have small, tight-knit fandoms. They can be just as fulfilling and entertaining as the big ones.

Robron Positive Squad.

Reblog, if your blog is gonna remain positive as you can about this whole, thing, and truly believe that no matter what, they will find a way through this at the end of the day (and maybe even end up stronger for it) so people, know who to follow for the positivity train. I know @reformedcharacter is with me!

If antis ever start to get to you, remember this.

If shippers disappeared, antis would have no cause, no community. They have nothing left to fight for, nothing else to feel morally superior about, nowhere to go from there. Sure, they still have their fandoms, but some of the spark in the fandoms would be lost without some of the most passionate members.

If antis disappeared, us shippers still have a community full of brilliant writers, talented artists, and people who are really passionate about their fandoms. We would still be around to support each other, because we are a community, unconditionally. We don’t exclude someone for having the wrong pairing between fictional characters.

Without us, they’re nothing. Without them, we’re happy. We’re stronger than them.

Fourth Season:
fuck, okay, I love you. There. I said it. Wait.. oh shit. I love you.

little things I love about the fma fandom:

  • fan art for EVERYONE even though the cast is fucking massive. You want are of Catherine Armstrong? You bet! Frank Archer, who was literally invented solely for the purpose of being a twat 03? Tons! The dude from the background in Briggs with cool hair? You bet your ass Briggs Cool Hair Guy has art.
  • stupid short jokes we’re allowed to make since we’re all taller than our protagonist
  • “tiny miniskirts” could easily be the worst Annoying Fandom Catchphrase ever (and I’ll admit it probably was in the years following fma03) but these days I just see it used as an excuse to draw Roy Mustang in revealing clothing and who doesn’t love that?
  • those three weeks or so where there were flower crown edits everywhere, that was a good time
  • the general consensus that the correct term for Greed and Ling’s relationship is “roommates
    • the numerous AUs that accordingly write them as actual roommates
  • just the general fact that we’re still a thing?? like how the heck have we held so strong, by fandom standards we are elderly but we’re still kicking!
  • Olivier Mira Armstrong could beat up pretty much anyone in the fandom and we all know we’d thank her
    • but then there’s also a few people who are Extra in love with her, usually also along with the rest of Briggs. Bless them
  • here come the kimble
  • seriously, bless badlydrawnanime
  • royai shippers just fucking revelling in having the best dang straight ship anyone could dream of
  • still SO bitter about characters’ deaths (some of which happened more than a decade ago if you measure by the manga’s publication!) and probably more hypersensitive to jokes about them than any other fandom I’ve been in, yet also way, way more likely to make those infuriating jokes. We straight-up can’t help ourselves.
    • like I literally own a shirt that makes an “arm and a leg” joke it’s the most infuriating item of clothing I own any I love it
    • we basically wrote the book on Dead Anime Mom jokes, get on our level aaron jägerbomb
    • maes hughes. full stop.
  • the truest unifying constant through the years of our incredible, indelible loathing for Shou Tucker
  • Greed fans in general. Just… why are we like this. Help.
  • pretty chill as fandoms go? Not a whole lot of drama? thank god??
    • and as far as I’ve seen no drama specifically between 03 fans and manga/brohood fans like OH MY GOD can you imagine how annoying we’d be if that was a thing?
  • jaclcfrost posts
  • sassy alphonse
  • snap snap spark spark

I LOVE HOW THE SNS FANDOM TREATS ITSELF LIKE A FAMILY

NOT JUST A FANDOM

BUT A FAMILY

We’ve been through ups and downs but we’ve endured. I love how we’ve stood up for each other and supported each other.

I love how we never get all these negativities defeat us.

I LOVE HOW WE TURNED A TINY SPARK INTO A BIG FLAME.

IT FEELS LIKE WE ARE THE GREAT BIG PARALLEL OF THE SASU AND NARU LOVE WHICH NEVER DIED EVEN IF WE ARE AGAINST THE ODDS

I LOVE YOU GUYS.

THAT’S ALL.

ARMY, our fandom, thank you very much. You know we still cannot believe that we’re standing here on this stage at the Billboard Music Awards, oh my gosh. And it is so great to see all of the artists we admire and feel on it to be in this category with such great artists,  you know, like right in front of us, we’re just really honored and most importantly, this award belongs to the every people all around the world that shine the love and light on us by the millions and make BTS proud, really everyone. Please ARMY remember what we say “love myself”, “love yourself.” We really love you, thank you. We will become a cooler BTS. Thank you Billboard for supporting us, thank you!

Can I just take a moment to appreciate the Sterek fandom?

Round of applause to you all because you guys are amazing.

I just can’t believe how far we’ve actually come. Seriously. We started out so little, barely any shippers, barely any Sterek dedicated blogs, accounts, etc. (well, at least in the first few episodes because this fandom grew pretty fast). We had little fics, little arts. Can you honestly believe that there was once a day where Sterek only had 100 fics, a handful of art and a couple hundred shippers? Because I fucking cannot. 6 years later and there’s 46k+ fics, thousands of gorgeous arts, fanmixes, many dedicated blogs and accounts, thousands and thousands of stans and events guys, so many Sterek events that only help broadcast even more of what this fandom has to offer.

Guys, we’ve expanded so much throughout the years. Our fandom has grown rapidly and we just keep building up.

And don’t even get me started on how much we’ve been through. Because we have been through so much together. We’ve been slammed for wanting to see these characters together, we’ve constantly been told that “Sterek is non-existent” and “Sterek will never happen,” yet we’re still here.

We’ve been used by Jeff and tossed out by the network and the show. We’ve seriously been through more than any other fandom ever associated with Teen Wolf, but you know what’s beautiful? We only kept going.

We literally gave a bunch of “fuck you"s to everyone who’s ever spoken down on us by continuing to progress the way we are. We’ve been so successful in creating something that we never even dreamed of becoming this big.

Hell, people who don’t even watch the show ship Sterek! That’s how amazing this fandom is. That’s how talented and dedicated we are.

And no one can even argue against the dedicated part, because regardless of all the constant hate we’ve received, we continued on and progressed. Guys, we’re so dedicated that we made our. own. fandom! We made our own fandom guys! How insane is that?

And in all honesty, I know it may suck sometimes, thinking about how we were baited and all, but don’t let that be a bother. We still got something great from all of it, many things actually. And also, the joke is all on Jeff because when his show is done, we’ll still be here!

We really are victorious, honestly. And no one can ever make me think differently.

This fandom is filled with so many strong, talented and absolutely amazing people. And yes, like every other fandom and ship, this one has its issues, but we always make things work and I think that’s truly beautiful.

We are still this massive group of people who have yet to falter in our constant expansion. We are still this group of people who are incredibly devoted and we are still this group of people who still have yet to come to a dead end in all we do.

I honestly couldn’t have asked to be part of a better fandom. I know it sounds like all talk, but I’m serious guys.

We may not have gotten canon, but I think we still got more than a lot of other fandoms. Friendships flourished, some talents were discovered and some talents were strengthened, creativity continues to blossom throughout this entire fandom, support is a constant thing, we’ve got people to lean on. We’ve got each other and we’ve got these two beautiful characters with all this potential that we used and created into what it is today.

There aren’t enough words to describe how much I love this fandom!

And from here on, we’ll just keep growing. So thank you all so much, thank you for all of it. And special thanks to the first person in this fandom who ever brought up Sterek because I’m pretty certain that is a major factor in the growth of our fandom.

You guys are astonishing, and I appreciate all of you so much.

This fandom, to me, is pretty God damn iconic. And every single person in it has been a part of what makes Sterek and the fandom itself as astounding as they are.

So round of applause to us all!
