Burial Ground, St-John-at-Hampstead
Across the road from the church and its original churchyard is the extended burial ground. Less moody and irregular, but still nicely overgrown, with a wider variety of foliage and flora. It’s a place I love to go because it’s where Anton Walbrook is buried, (something I still find almost miraculous). But a trip to Hampstead is a lovely way to spend an afternoon - there’s a host of lovely houses, it’s blue plaque central, and a fine array of coffee shops and pubs. But I do love a churchyard.
