John Singer Sargent (aka the best watercolor artist that ever lived) produced more than 2,000 similar works in his lifetime. None of his watercolor illustrations were considered finished works at the time, and most were painted quickly on location.

Here we can see a mastery of detail and lighting, showing that Sargent truly knew how to manipulate the mediums he worked in.

This lecture gives a pretty good overview of Roman beliefs (an immanent, surrounding Divine represented by various Gods), household rites and sacrifice, as well as the mysteries of Isis and Sabazius, based on archaeological findings from the preserved city of Pompeii.

Burj Khalifa- Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Last, but certainly not least, is the towering and beautiful, glass-clad Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. In a city of archetectural feats od creastion, this building stands as a mighty sentinel overlooking the city, desert, and the Persian Gulf. I remember as a kid, i would check online every few days just to see the progress of the building as it slowly rose into the sky from the ground below. Towering at almost a kilometer tall, it is one of, if not the most, impressive buildings in the world.

Dubai is one of my dream cities. A bustling metropolis filled with towering skyscrapers and some of the most amazing architectural marvels of the modern age. The Burj Khalifa represents a modern day form of competition and manifest destiny to the sky itself. Its sheer height is imcomprehendable to me, over twice the height of the Empire State Building. I cannot wait until the day that I can stand on the observation deck of this beautiful tower and be the tallest man on Earth  assuming nobody else in the observation deck is taller than my 5′10 stature).
