April 26, 2012

Today, from the very start I was unsure. Unsure of what I wanted, where I was going, what I was going to do. Slowly moving was the day, giving me much too much time to think. Leaving myself alone with my thoughts, that is always mistake number one.

When school finally ended I stuck around for a while, wandering. Seeing what all there is to see in the place that I see so often. The hallways look different when nobody is in them. As is it always so strange, so surreal, seeing teachers after school hours. The transition from ‘professional’ to 'one of us’. Well, whoever 'us’ is..

However, you see, all of that is irrelevant. My day truly did not start until a quarter til four, when phil called. I answered with a Hello; a cold 'telephone voice’ hello. His hello was one formed as a question, later telling me it did not sound like myself. Silence was most of the car ride to Wall. Still being so unsure of everything.

Then, we were alone. All of the world and all that it seemed today, was nothing as it was then; as we sat close, fingers tangled. He asked me what was wrong. I am not one to stumble over much words, but much rather think too deeply about what it is that I am feeling.

Somewhere, between holding conversions of such depth and re-equating ourselves under the sheets; I found confidence, in us, in myself, in all of the world around us. Only he can make me feel such a way.

On Thursday, I remember walking home from school very vividly. As I was about to pass by a liquor store, a lady that looks 40, comes up to me and just bursts, “Hey, sweety, are you related to Bruce Lee?”

I’m not sure if she was kidding, or she really meant it. I replied with a “no”. I walked faster. After a few feet of walking, she says, “Oh, you look just like him. Asian and all.”

You have no idea how much I wanted to punch her.
