It’s been such a long while since I was last in America enjoying a road trip across any of the great States … I think it’ll be many more years until we can afford to go again! lol (I laugh but I’m gutted. Trust me!!)

So, I thought I’d have a quick look through my old pics from when I just pointed+clicked!! Wow…so many bad pics taken. Ha! …..but, here’s one I hope I rescued a little? It was taken in a brilliant small town called Llano on one of the final days of our trip. Typical that you find somewhere ultra cool when you’re running outta time!!!

Taken back in 09 and yes I do wish I could go back now with my SLR and get some decent snaps off! Llano is a wonderful small town Americana… I’d love to go back someday. I could walk those streets today with my camera and easily fill up the memory card! :-)

I enjoyed reliving the memories and processing this……………
I think I’ll have another look through my old road trip pics again!

Another pic from Terlingua, Texas - 2009.

I wanted to go inside here and grab a bite / see what it was like /etc.. I had previously heard lots of glowing reviews on the web. Sadly it was never open when we was in this part of town - and we never got to go at nighttime due to having little Katie with us (bedtime ’n all..!!). Well, I got to visit just about everywhere else in this brilliant place and it’s definitely on my To-Do List (again lol). Lots more olde pics to come!

Oh - sorry about some idiot parking his car in the way of the shot there… ahem…!! (saying nothing)

As you can see from the hefty crop, I’ve not got a macro lens but I still like the end result. It’s quite a creepy little spidery thing!  I added in the sun light and flare afterwards to make up for the dull background…..

After taking this, I ran away like a scary girl. Screaming, I was… Quite pathetic! ;^)

shap abbey on Flickr.

A wonderful old & historic abbey set in the Cumbrian countryside. Absolutely a must visit place if you’re nearby & free too!

Post processing done in :

  • Apple Aperture for basic tweaks.
  • Then I obviously used Snap Art as this produces some amazing painterly fx.

I think this fx works well here and adds to the country feel that is so beautiful here in northern England. I’ve many more trips now planned for a ton of places here in Lancashire next….. lets get winter out the way first!

Thanks for viewing ;)
