The Apple Logo: Tribute to Alan Turing

Alan Turing, the hero who broke the enigma code to win World War II and the inventor of computers, was prosecuted in 1952 for being gay and then was chemically castrated. Later he committed suicide by eating an apple that contained cyanide poisoning. He loved Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and his favorite scene in the movie was when the witch made a poison apple.

The Apple logo is a tribute to Alan Turing, the father of computers.

  • ‘Wasteland’ ring a bell to anyone? Hopefully it does, since it was a huge contributor to the book of what we see in popular post-nuke games! It even got a sequel through Kickstarter a couple years back, and before that it spawned a spiritual sequel that you may have heard of: Fallout!
