Convention (AU)

18.  “i literally took a bullet for you and now you owe me big time”

(Murphy x Reader)

There was a really cool convention going on this weekend and you really wanted to go. The only problem was that you didn’t have a car. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem, since you could just ask your parents but they would be on a trip this weekend, so that wasn’t an option. The only other person you knew who had a car was Murphy. But he was an asshole. You’d asked him already and he told you that, ‘No way in hell would he lend you his car for something like this or anything really.’

Everyone was hanging out at Murphy’s today so you figured, you’d just try again.

“Pleeease Murphy, I promise I’ll bring your car back safe and sound.” You plead with him, as the two of you walk through the hallway.

“Nope, you’ll probably crash it into the next tree.”

“God you are so sexist, just because I’m a girl doesn’t mean I can’t drive a damn car.”

“I wonder about that…the answer is still no.”

“Come on Murphy don’t be a jerk.”

“That’s what I’m best at.” He smirks, “Besides what do I get out of this deal?”

“I don’t know, can’t you just for once be a nice decent person?”

You hear Jasper and Monty running your way. They’re playing football in the house and when you see them they promptly smash a vase standing next to you.  You jump in front of Murphy out of sheer reflex and press him to the wall with you. The shattering sound had startled you, you had never been good with sudden, loud noises.

“Guys, my mum doesn’t really like it when you trash the house everytime you’re here.” Murphy yells at them.

“Sorry!” They say but keep on running around anyway.

Murphy raises an eybrow at you, a little smile playing on his lips, “I didn’t know you were so protective of me.”

“So tell me how long have you been in love with me?” He asks in a smug voice.

“Would you shut up, I literally took a bullet for you and now you owe me big time…so you’ll give me your car right?” You look up at him with puppy eyes.

“That look is unfair and you know it.”

“So it’s a yes?” You smile brightly at him.

“Fine you won, take it.” He says grumpily.

“You could always come with me if you don’t want me to drive.”

“Finally I thought you’d never ask me on a date.”

“It’s not a date you jerk.” You say cranky.

“Don’t be mad now that you finally had the guts to ask me out.” He grins and puts his arm around your shoulder, “Anyway, I don’t have to wear a cosplay or something like that?”

“Oh I don’t know, you’d look good as princess leia.”

“Yeah I’d totally rock that look.”

Murphy looks at you, all serious before turning his head away, “So uhm…after that, would you maybe go on a real date with me?”

If we can get away from boobs. >.> Do you often wear coloured contacts? For some reason I imagine them to be less comfortable than regular contacts.

(THANK YOU HAHA;;;) And yeah I usually wear contacts for all my cosplays. I need a prescription anyway and it’s always useful to see the people you want to avoid by maintaining your eyesight at a con without wearing glasses >_>.;;;

The comfort level all depends on what type of coloured contacts you get. I personally can’t wear PinkyParadise and other cheaper brands. They cause my eyes to hurt right away, but many of my friends can wear them comfortably. I usually stick to Splash of Color brand, Acuvue, or Wrlens.
