not to play devil's advocate, but while i agree with algorithm is shit, i do believe them when they say they don't single out lgbt+ content - it's just that a lot of people within the lgbt+ community use the option to flag themselves as nsfw to better hide from potentially malicious people (reddit raids, anyone?) so while it is bs... it is explainable, especially since atm the only thing that triggers the photo flagging is the amount of skin (or skin color) perceived.
Agree to disagree, anon. I don’t have any proof, and maybe I’m cynical, but it happens often enough to be a concern. There are a lot of people–self included–citing specific posts they’ve made that have been flagged by tumblr, not by themselves, merely for incorporating lgbtqia+ in some way.
As for the flagging triggers, I think tags are part of it, just from checking which of my own posts have been flagged.
