Today, as I was coming home on the subway, I had the misfortune of encountering Emily Goldstein’s piece on Thought Catalog, “Yes, Diversity Is About Getting Rid Of White People (And That’s A Good Thing)”. Existing at the nexus of Medium and 4chan, this hopelessly edgy piece starts right at the bottom, condescendingly declaring the point of diversity to be “getting rid of white people”.
Not content with insulting an entire genre of cultural, social and business policy, Ms. Troll-stein prefaces her rant by self-identifying as white, and then proceeds to call even her own existence unjustified:
White people do not have a right to exist. Period. That may sound like a bold statement, but it’s entirely true. Any white person with even the faintest knowledge of history should curse themselves every single day for being white.
Ms. Goldstein goes on a tirade about what we all know - that people of European descent have committed endless historical atrocities and genocides against most other ethnic groups on the planet. And rightfully points out that “whiteness” in America - the concept of a “pure” race that does not “sully” itself by mixing with others, and that “purity” should therefore be defended with laws and segregation - is itself racism.
These are the only points with any shred of validity in this bigoted dialectic flatulence. And she takes any validity away from the whiteness point by conflating it with terrorism against hundreds of millions of people (herself included):
Why, then, should whites now be allowed to live in peace when whites have historically been the world’s #1 source of conflict and oppression? Whiteness is racism. Period. Whiteness is the source of all oppression in the world. Whiteness is racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and heteropatriarchal capitalism. Eliminate whiteness and you eliminate every single form of oppression that the world currently faces. No white people means no oppression. White people are like a cancer and oppression is a symptom of the cancer.
I can think of a few hundred thousand people in Rwanda who definitely felt oppression at the hands of non-whites. Or in Sri Lanka. Or in Central African Republic. Or anywhere controlled by ISIS. But this is beside the point - to conflate the concept of whiteness with the lives of millions of white people in an actual call for genocide is nothing that needs to be part of our discourse in America. This is best left to the trolling forums of the world, and is certainly below ThoughtCatalog.
I have dedicated my life to fighting racism, and I have determined – based on all available evidence – that the only way to really eliminate racism is to eliminate whiteness.
A “life” of “fighting racism” - and the only conclusion she can come to is to “eliminate” white people via low birthrates, assimilation and systematic oppression? Also, it should be unconscionable for anyone to refer to “descendants of Holocaust survivors” (especially with the last name Goldstein!) being able to “personally attest to the evil that white people are capable of” - while calling for the extinction of logarithmically more human beings.
The only way to eliminate white privilege, white oppression, white racism, and the oppressive white power structure is to eliminate white people altogether.
So, yes, white supremacists: diversity is indeed white genocide. And white genocide is exactly what the world needs more than anything else.
I would call this article an evil that a white person was capable of. This type of filth never needs a platform. And of course, as if on cue, white supremacist websites (from MISSOURI, no less) were reposting this not even 3 hours later, looking to dox her and being riled up into a frenzy. There is no way she did not see this coming – especially as an educator, whose language, one would hope, should reflect a maturity level higher than her students’. Working to dismantle racism by making sure that no white people exist?
I sincerely hope that, when the white power structure finally comes crashing down, whites will receive no mercy from the minority groups that whites have spent centuries oppressing. We certainly don’t deserve any mercy or kindness, as we have given nothing of the sort to others.
Hundreds of words with one disgusting topic. Anti-white racism is racism, as much as any “whiteness” this woman claims to despise. Ms. Goldstein’s “life of fighting racism” – has apparently made her nothing but a racist.
