A beautiful 11x14 inch art print of the Michael Maier “miraculous abilities of nature” design from his Viatorium, published in Oppenheim, 1618.
The design is of a seven pointed star with its points surrounded with the planet and chemical symbols, which are in turn surrounded by the four elements and the signs of the zodiac. The Viatorium and this emblem has been published and republished many times in the collected works produced by other alchemists.

Count Michael Maier (1568-1622) was a well studied physician, philosopher and alchemist who practiced medicine in many royal courts and was well respected by many, including emperor Rudolf II who made him his imperial counselor. He dedicated the last part of his life to researching the secrets of nature, however many of his writings still remain unpublished.
