antheraeapolyphemus

found a beautiful large female #polyphemus moth hanging out at dawn … hoping she’s already laid her eggs because her big chubby burrito body is likely not going to last long in the light of day with lots of native birds. Left her under the cover of a host plant. Antheraea polyphemus lay eggs and are hosted primarily on oak (Quercus), willow (Salix), maple (Acer), and birch (Betula). #antheraeapolyphemus #moth (at Bald Eagle State Park)
