another stolen relic

My Loki references make my family insane
  • Mom: Honey, you asked me to buy that cereal, now eat it!
  • Me: I never wanted the cereal. All I ever wanted, was to be his equal! *points at brother*
  • Mom: You are your brother's equal-
  • Me: He's not my brother! He never was!
  • Mom: Alright then, you're adopted! Just enough with the Loki references-
  • Me: Does this mean I am no more than another stolen relic, locked up, here until you might have use of me?
  • Mom: Seriously, enough-
  • Mom: Enough! This is insane!
  • Me: Is it madness? Is it? IS IT?
  • Mom: Just eat your cereal-
  • Me: I DO WHAT I WANT *dramatic hair flip* *walks to brother* The burden of the cereal has fallen to you now. Farewell.

”So I am no more than another stolen relic, locked up here until you might have use for me?”

See, there’s a lot that we can’t really be sure of.

We don’t know if Loki had actually been abandoned. He was found in the temple, so there’s a chance that he had been put there only temporarily. Perhaps it is a Jotun thing done to all of their children, for ritual purposes — to be exposed to the environment, for their bodies to accept the cold. Perhaps Odin really did steal Loki, though he thought that he was rescuing him.

And on that note, how did Odin know that Loki was Laufey’s son? And how did he know that Loki was small for a Frost Giant baby? Had he seen many Frost Giant children in the past?

Happy Fanfic Author Appreciation Day!

There are so many amazing fanfic writers I have known through the years, and so many I love and adore now who I consider great friends. You uys are the best, and I wish you all much creativity through the next year!

I thought I would do something to show some of my favorite fanfics (that I haven’t already reblogged) and highlight the stuff I love so much I bookmarked it on AO3. These are my “personal faves not written by me” fics, so to speak. I’m pretty sure I have everyone here on Tumblr’s correct username, but if not, let me know!

One-Shot: No Matter Who You Are

Could u do a one-shot taking place in the first Thor movie? While u follow Loki to the vault room out of concern y he’s been so quiet, u overhear him confront Odin about his heritage. Shortly after when he’s alone in the vault room, u come out of ur hiding spot and try to comfort him, telling him wether Frost Giant or Asgardian he’s beautiful no matter what. U love him for who he is, not what he is. And have this connect from the request of fighting him after catching him sending the Destroyer. [Read here]  -Requested by @anhartcuteneon

  • Loki: The Casket wasn't the only thing you took from Jotunheim that day, was it?
  • Odin: No. In the aftermath of the battle I went into the temple and I found a baby. Small for a Giant's offspring, abandoned, suffering, left to die. It was you. You were Laufey's son. By birth, anyway.
  • Loki: Laufeyson?
  • Odin: No - "Laufey'**S** Son". And only technically. You're actually *MY* son. I raised you!
  • Loki: Why? You were knee-deep in Jotun blood. Why would you take me?
  • Odin: You were an innocent child. Plus, you were so cute when you grabbed my finger and tried to freeze it.
  • Odin: *(chuckles)*
  • Loki: No. You took me for a purpose. What was it?... TELL ME!!!
  • Odin: Well, this was more of a bonus to having another son, but I did think we could unite our kingdoms one day. Bring about an alliance, bring about permanent peace... through you. Because of you. Isn't that an unprecedented, amazing feat? That's something no other being could have done!
  • Loki: What...?
  • Odin: But those plans no longer matter. Because your idiot brother fucked everything up.
  • Loki: So I am no more than another stolen relic, locked up here until you might have use of me?
  • Odin: No! Don't be silly. We'll find something for you to do.
  • Loki: You could have told me what I was from the beginning! Why didn't you?
  • Odin: You're my son... I wanted only to protect you. I was waiting for the right time to tell you.
  • Loki: What, because I... I... I am the monster parents tell their children about at night?
  • Odin: *(withering)* No! Of course not!
  • Loki: You know, it all makes sense NOW, why you favored Thor all these years, because no matter how much you claim to love me, you could never have a Frost Giant sitting on the throne of Asgard!
  • Odin: *(steadies himself)*
  • Odin:
  • Loki: Oh, no! Are you Odinsleeping?
  • Odin:
  • Odin: *(belches majestically)*
  • Odin: Oof; shouldn't have had that second boar burger. Do you want to talk about this some more?
  • Loki: Really?
  • Odin: Verily! Now's as good a time as any.

  • Loki: So, I'm no more than another stolen relic, locked up here until you might have use of me...?!
  • Odin: You're not locked up. You are free to come and go as you please. In fact, while you're out, can you pick up some of that balsamic fig glaze that your Mother likes?
  • Loki:
  • Odin: Sorry...
  • Loki:
  • Odin: ...I mean, that *Frigga* likes?

Author’s notes: Okay, so I have this problem where I have ideas but I physically do not want to write. I don’t want to write them out at all. There’s no motivation for me. Tired and bored of my shitty attitude, I sat myself down and wrote this out in hopes of finding my love for writing again. Tell me what you think please! I’m going to need it. And also, forgive me if it’s shit.
