Interesting shot from La Dolce Vita, in my opinion that is. I read in it a sense of the father ahead of the son. Just like the cycle of life. The older man in front, awaiting for the inevitable and guiding the younger man behind, his son. The father looks out the window, to his life and his past, with a resigned body posture of someone who knows it is difficult, what’s done can’t be altered and most of what was left to do is lost. His son doesn’t have a clue, though, for it is yet out of sight, but he will get there.
