After getting a great portfolio review at SDCC from Disney animation, I wanted to practice being looser with my storyboards. I’d like to flesh these out a little, but for now, here’s the first pass of a scene from Toothiana: Queen of the Tooth Fairy Armies by William Joyce.

Back in the spring I had the opportunity to do a storyboard test for DreamWorks! Even though I ended up not getting the position, I’m still pretty proud of how it came out!

Note that this isn’t based on any DreamWorks property, it was just a story I came up with on the fly.

Hi Tumblr! It’s been a while! I’ve been busy lately because I’ve been working as a storyboard revisionist on the revival of The Powerpuff Girls! I’m so happy to have the opportunity to work on a show so near and dear to my heart.

Right now I’m a freelancer, so I’m only at the studio a couple times a week to pick up and drop off work, but it’s great so far <3

Anyway, here’s my little interpretation. Hopefully I’ll have time to post more often soon!

Last month I got the opportunity to take a storyboard test for Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Which was very exciting for me as a long time fan.

Unfortunately I did not get the job, but I had a lot of fun with this and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! This is part 1 of 2. Enjoy!

(P.S. I got permission from the folks at Nick to upload this!)

To brush up on my storyboarding skills, I’m going to work on a scene from the book Toothiana, Queen of the Tooth Fairy Armies by William Joyce, but I had to re-imagine Toothiana the way she appeared in the book, and think about what her mortal enemy the Monkey King looked like. I’ll be uploading some boards soon!
