A Prayer That Will Be Answered

Lord let me suffer a lot

and then let me die

Allow me to walk through silence

Let nothing not even fear linger after me

Make the world go on as it always has

let the sea continue to kiss the shore

Let grass still remain green

so a little frog could find shelter in it

and someone could bury his face

and weep his heart out

Make a day dawn so bright

it seems there is no more suffering

And let my poem be transparent as a windowpane

against which a straying bee hits its head.

Star Wars’ Carrie Fisher dies at the age of 60

Carrie Fisher, best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, has died following a sudden heart attack; she was 60 years old.

Fisher suffered a massive heart attack on Friday during a flight from London to Los Angeles. “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” read a statement from family spokesperson Simon Halls. “She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”

Actress Anna Akana, who was also on the flight, noted that Fisher wasn’t breathing for “10 minutes or so” after the attack. Once the plane landed in Los Angeles, paramedics performed CPR on Fisher for 15 minutes before getting a pulse. They then rushed her to nearby UCLA Medical Center, where she was placed on a ventilator. Hours later, Fisher was moved from the emergency room to the Intensive Care Unit, her brother, Todd Fisher, told our sister site Variety.

Fisher shot to international fame as Princess Leia in the 1977 blockbuster Star Wars and reprised the role in 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back and 1983’s Return of the Jedi. She returned to the franchise as Leia in last year’s The Force Awakens.

Prayer Request 6/30/15

My older sister Anna went to the ER last night with some stinging in her chest, dizziness, and numbness. Today she’s getting an MRI to rule out MS. She’s been worried about these symptoms for a while, but this was the first time a doctor actually said he suspected MS. So please pray for her. She’s under a lot of stress and facing a lot of changes as it is. Pray for the results of the MRI to come quickly and for wisdom and peace moving forward.

St. Lidwina of Schiedam, Mary our Mother, St. Joseph, St. Jude, Guardian Angels, please intercede for Anna and ask Our Lord to bring her healing and peace in this.

Thank you very much, and God bless!

i love life. i love it. i love love, i love rage, i love anger and sadness and despair and hope and joy and ecstasy. i love how finite we are, how finite our emotions are, how little our lives really are. i love the concept of leaving your body so fast, at any second we could be onto the next dimension and that blows my mind and i love it. i love the things we all share in common, i love how everybody in the world will feel love and heartbreak and hope so strongly in their lives at least once. i love how people become joined throughout their lives at least once either through love, marriage, relations, friendship, or horror and death. i love how we all know the other’s pain one way or another. i love that we irrevocably leave marks on everything. no one’s life is unimportant; you were human. and that’s so great to be. i love how death is just another journey to go on and deal with. i love heart and soul, i love love, i love being human, everything about us amazes me. how we become and how we leave never stops blowing my mind. i love it so much sometimes i can’t even breathe, it’s insane what we are and where we’re all going in the end, and at any minute. i love it.
i consider myself a transhuman/posthuman advocative and i’m insane over the concept of that, too….but to be human, nothing but flesh and bone and heart and soul, to be nothing but organs and hope and prayers and sorrow, that’s wonderful. we’re art. i’d be okay if the movement never picked up because what we are now is a masterpiece to behold. i love you.
