I’m looking for someone who’d like to talk with me about music, art and life in general. I don’t really care what kind of music you like (I’m into some rock/punk, pop and folk (I guess)) as long as you’re passionated about it. I’m a bit of a pessimist and introverted and not very good at talking to people, so I’m sorry if that turns you off.
I’m also interested in history, animals (mainly horses), movies, fantasy, politics etc.
If you speak english fluently that’d be great (because I’d really like to improve my own English). If you speak French that’s a plus (but not a requirement!!!) because I would like to get better it.
At first I’d like to write via e-mail, but later on I’m very interested in sending ordinary letters!

Preferences: Someone who’s around 15-20

According to Wikipedia, “Strange Magic is a 2015 American computer-animated musical fantasy romantic comedy film directed by Gary Rydstrom, produced by Lucasfilm, with feature animation by Lucasfilm Animation and Industrial Light & Magic. The film’s screenplay was written by Rydstrom, David Berenbaum, and Irene Mecchi, from a story by George Lucas inspired by William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.“

I just saw this clip, and then watched the entire movie, assuring myself that despite having nothing thematically to do with my animation, it was still research.

Despite low critical reception, I think it had a very strong story- subverted a few tropes, played to other tropes really well, and had fantastic use of lighting and shadow (though the character’s faces looked… really off sometimes, though that’s down to appeal/stylistic preference,  i suppose)

The characters body language in this scene, is really fantastic. Lots of back and forth (and really good swordplay)- shows an understanding of what makes a character look alive; both Marianne and the Bog King have to wind up for their attacks- which mostly seem to have great weight and physicality behind them.

Also as a side note- the way in which the wings snap from rigid to soft and flowing will never cease to fascinate.

Your natural state is enlightening. Everything else you’ve ever been told about yourself is a lie. We are trying to wake ourselves up, because we come from source energy and we are ALL one. We have to realize that our brothers and sisters that we are seeing in the dream, are mere reflections of our inner self. Yin and yang, love and hate. People that we dislike, are mere reflections of our own character defects. People that we like and love are true successful manifestations of our deepest most inner self. We are beings of light. Our mission, is to be creation, and create positive energy on spaceship Earth.

Do you have a list of recommended web comics?

oh no, i don’t! but now that you mention it, now’s a great time to make one, and i’ll do it RIGHT HERE!

Mondo’s Favorite Webcomics List 2k14

now, there’s not a lot of recs from me, but these are my favorites! not in any particular order! i’ll also try to give the best miniature summary i can make (or find)!

Genre : Sci-fi, Fantasy
Updates : Monday & Thursday
About : A small girl named Ava has lived a life she had never wanted all because a certain demon ruined it for her. It turns out that the demon wanted to make a pact with her, and in doing so, can grant her any wish in return. But, what the demon wanted her to do was so much harder than what she expected …

i remember when Michelle drew HS fanart back then! hoooly heck, her art style is probably one of the most beautiful ones i’ve ever seen, she’s a big inspiration! THIS WEBCOMIC HAS THE MOST DETAILED AND PRETTIEST PAINTING STYLE I’VE EVER SEEN. amazing art style, ‘storybook’-like, and of course, there’s video animations and amazingly fantasy-like music! each character is very unique and different!

Genre : Fantasy, Action
Updates : Monday, Wednesday & Friday
About : This comic takes into the account of a lot of different individuals, but starts out with the story of a boy named Max. After filling out a 'pop-up ad form’, he is immediately entered into a competition called 'Olympus Overdrive’, a contest in which mortals are assigned (Greek) Gods to battle against each other and overcome different tasks.

Oskar is another one of my inspirational artists!! his art style is also one of my favorites, and the vibrant different colors of the comic, as well as the major style shift are really amazing! O.O is styled in comic format, and comes with flash interactions, animations, and IM styled panels! if you love Greek Mythology, shiny CG, and a very modern setting, you’ll love this!

Genre : Fantasy
Updates : ? ? ? (Depends) (Usually every week or so – for animations, every 2-ish weeks?)
About : A much more different story of how Dorothy arrived in the Land of Oz. Dorothy wakes up in the Yellow Country with no recollection of her past. Curious of where she is, she sets out on a journey with a cat named Toothy to find. A much different kind of Wizard of Oz, with a semi-darker and mysterious setting, as well as many different wonders and characters more than the 4 mains that you all know about.

oh my god. OH MY GOD. I WILL FIGHT YOU TO THE DEATH ABOUT THIS WEBCOMIC. i have been an EXTREMELY MAJOR FAN of Xamag’s works ever since i joined the HS fandom years ago! Xamag has actually worked with Hussie on his webcomic, having drawn several characters in the HS flashes. SHE IS A BIG INSPIRATIONAL ART IDOL TO ME. her art style is my absolute favorite, and i REAAAALLLY love her works. AAAAAAAA. but putting that aside, BBR is a webcomic with a very unique setting and design of a cute cartoony-western style. It’s a bit darker, BUT BEAUTIFUL. SO BEAUTIFUL. not to mention The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite stories! Xamag’s webcomic is in webcomic format with some flash interaction games and accompanying fantasy audio. If you like The Wizard of Oz, cutesy art style, and flashes, you might like BBR!

Genre : Fantasy
Updates : Tuesdays & Thursdays
About : Once upon a time, there was a girl. She was young and kind and innocent, and lived with the fairies in the great forest. She was alone, but she didn’t mind.

i just recently started reading this! it intrigued my mind the further i read! the art style is beautifully cute, and the story itself has interested my mind. As quoted from the about page of Blindsprings, “The comic should appeal to anyone who loves Ghibli or Disney animated movies!”. In comic format!
