Author’s notes: Anyone want some fake relationship fluff? I got u, fam. I hope you are feeling much better, anon!! I really wanted a fluff fic done by Valentine’s pero candy is half off today so I mean, technically the 15th is better than Valentine’s Day.

Reconnaissance missions suck.

You run on a gamble of either getting what you need or leaving the planet empty handed. The mission called for gathering intel on the possible Imperial occupation of an Outer Rim planet.

“In and out,” Cassian tells you once you enter the city.

“Whatever you say, captain,” you snort.

The Future/(is now)

I can’t believe this is something I saw with my own two eyeballs, because apparently all that’s happened so far wasn’t coincidence, or carelessness - apparently Dabb watched Season 8 and made a deliberate bet with someone - he’d make it gayer, or else. And so here it is, (almost) out of the subtext (Sorry, Dean and You can’t just go dark like that. We didn’t know what happened to you. We were worried. That’s not okay and I needed to come back here with a win for you and We’re just better together and I’d like that and THE TAAAAAAAPE). Honest to God, I think I read twenty versions of that fight yesterday as people scrambled to write pre-codas out of nerves and excitement, and they were all magnificent and yet, somehow, less shippy and less obvious and less romantic than what actually happened on the show, wtf? And Dean sulking in his room, Cas knocking at his door, hesitating, coming in?

I swear to God - when Dean called him back, when he started telling Cas all those things - for a second, I actually believed he would yank on Cas’ tie and kiss him, because that’s always, always what happens in that scenario. Or, you know, Dean gets overwhelmed by his own feelings, by how much he’s just showed his hand here, and walks away. That’s also textbook fanfiction, and yeah, so it’s fluff instead of angst, but, come on - this is Supernatural - did anyone doubt it’d be angsty? Let’s just hope in a happy ending, because that Kelly voiceover (I love you. But we won’t ever be together. There is no happy ending for either of us.) gave me the creeps.

And what about the mind control, someone might argue. Mind control, schmind control. That’s like, the number one Prove that you love me forever and ever trope, and even if we’ve seen it before (if simply because Destiel has been built with every single love trope in the book, and, in this case, they used it over and over and over again), we’ve never seen its final form. During the crypt scene, Cas deflected instead of admitting the obvious (let’s be generous: maybe he didn’t know himself), and in the Bunker, Dean just barely managed not to kill Cas, and had to walk away before the Mark overpowered him, so no, that was not a good time either. So this thing we’ve been promised for a while - this My love for you is stronger than time or tide or evil curse - is yet to come, and with the way things are going, I’m feeling pretty optimistic.

Also: however Dean will read this when he wakes up, Cas is choosing love, and he’s choosing free will. He went to Heaven hoping they’d have a way out of this mess so that Sam and Dean would be safe, he stole the Colt so they couldn’t face Dagon and be hurt (which is text, by the way, not subtext), he went against orders because he felt that was the right thing to do (a human feeling, because angels are created for a mission), he stayed away from Sam and Dean to protect them - all of that is unangelic behaviour, and man, Dean and Cas are going to get into so many fights, aren’t they, because Cas learned how to love from Dean, and that means he’s got that same kind of stubborn, maternal, overbearing way to love Dean has, which means lots of I didn’t tell you because I love you and I walked away because I love you and I booped you to sleep because I love you and I really hope Sam’s going to stay out of the way, because there will be a lot of storming through corridors and huffing and outrage and Can you believe that bastard and it will be absolutely glorious.

As for the rest of it - though, to be perfectly honest, I barely noticed a ‘rest of it’ because my eyeballs were glued to the unbelievable Gay Feelfest unfolding in front of me - I’m really happy with it. I’m happy we’re finally talking Big Things again - Could either of you kill an innocent, do our parents determine our destiny, is there such a thing as innate character, and so on - and I’m happy with the insight we were given both in Kelly’s and in Dagon’s minds, and why they do what they do. I loved every scene Cas and Kelly had together, that kind of, We’re not heroes, and we may be worthless, but we’re what’s left vibe, and Cas’ smile when the baby was kicking, and I like where they’re going, how they’ll try to get this pregnancy to term. Sure, this baby’s got a lot against him - he’s Lucifer’s kid (although, we still don’t know who and what Lucifer was before he was forced to carry the Mark), and one of his temper tantrums could possibly destroy the Earth, but, then again, so could a lot of other things - he’s not special (to quote a famous tumblr post). And if we’re going with free will and self-determination of our own destiny, then we should have the courage not to nitpick: everyone should be able to decide for themselves, and this baby is no exception.

(I mean, think about it. He’s clearly able to give anyone extraordinary powers - he gave Cas enough ammo to take down a bloody Prince of Hell - so he could have chosen anyone as his protector. He could have picked Dagon, he could have stuck with Kelly, he could have chosen any lesser demon or angel or random doctor they’ve been in contact with over the last few weeks - and yet he chose Cas, and Cas - as we’ve known for a while - is the curiosity, the abomination, the miracle: the angel who can love. No, I want to believe we’re headed towards good things here - narratively or otherwise.)

Final point: again, I know it’s not ideal to carry around a nuclear warhead in your belly, but the beginning of this episode gave me heavy The Handmaiden’s flashbacks (superb show, by the way, go watch it), so the fact they’re giving Kelly some kind of choice - that’s uplifting. Because yeah, maybe she’s slightly brainwashed, but this isn’t like any kind of brainwash I’ve ever seen on the show, because both Kelly and Cas are also lucid, completely themselves. They resemble most closely what Dean was like when he lost his memories, and I think now I’m going to go and cry forever at the implications. But hey, at least Cas’ got his own room at the Bunker and Yes, dumbass - we

The Backbone of 12x19

There were a lot of things to love about this episode—first and foremost: Castiel coming back, while also finding out that he wasn’t actually getting played by heaven again was awesome. Also seeing how Kelly found faith, and how Dean and Sam found ways around killing was a refreshing twist that I didn’t expect.

My favorite thing of all though was finding out just how deep Dean and Castiel’s relationship really is. Although, it was frustrating at times—how Castiel and Dean bickered and tried to go around one another’s wishes … their tactics in doing so proved the completeness in which they know each other. From how Castiel apparently “played” Dean into giving up the colt, to the ways Dean went about talking Castiel into going with him and Sam—it showed so much trust, and so much history that it just made every moment they spent across from each other, electric.

Also, to find that Dean made Castiel a tape to play in his truck—tape that Castiel obviously listened to? That moment was never shown to us when it first happened, but now that we know about it, we can deduce that there are many moments between Dean and Cas that never graced our screens—moments that prove that Dean wants to share more than just “missions” with the angel. He wants to share the music that he loves, he wants to have long talks, he wants to know where his angel is and that he’s safe—he doesn’t want Cas to ever “go dark” on him. He wants him around.

Then, when Dean thought that Castiel was on the brink of death, he reached out to him and screamed “no!” His pain and hopelessness in that moment was apparent in his voice, because at that moment, someone who he cares about very deeply was about to be lost to him. Yes, he cried out for the loss of the colt too, but that was a cry of anger while he watched the thing melt to pieces. He cried out in pain before Castiel was about to be taken away. One was gone and that was upsetting—but just the idea of his angel being taken away was going to wreck Dean, and he couldn’t bear to see it.

Dean and Castiel’s relationship was the absolute backbone that kept this episode upright. Their worries, their cares, their compassion was all highlighted through one another, and that was just the most beautiful thing I could have ever hoped to see.

Catholic Tumblr statement

A long time ago, I published a Tumblr mission statement for Catholics. I have completely reworked that old Mission Statement and have now published a new statement. If you, my fellow Catholics, find the statement to be in agreement with your confession of faith, I invite you to either like or reblog it.

This will give new Catholics joining Tumblr a sense of where certain bloggers stand, in matters of their faith. It is not meant to be a “liberal” or “traditional” statement, but simply Catholic, without qualifiers and conditions using political terms.

I hope it gives expression for those of us who blog on Tumblr and want a clear expression of how we see things, even if our blog is not a specifically “Catholic blog.” Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, enfold all of you in their love and keep you on the road to Heaven–Father Angel Sotelo

1)      I believe it is essential to the Catholic name, and identity, to give religious assent to those doctrines, and liturgical forms of worship, which have been proposed by the Magisterium of the Pope, or the Magisterium of the college of bishops, in union with the pope.

2)      Even those teachings of the pope and bishops which have not been defined as dogma, but are part of their ordinary teaching office as Shepherds of the Church, should be shown public respect. If a Catholic cannot presently give assent to certain teachings, they should pray, study, and seek understanding from faithful guides.

3)      Since dissension is the cause of much division and anger among Catholic disciples, a Catholic should not publicly and on social networks, sow the seeds of dissent against Church teaching and approved liturgy, nor ridicule other Catholics for maintaining faith with the Teaching Church.

4)      I believe in reaching out to fellow Catholics who struggle with Church doctrines and moral teachings. Insofar as such Catholics maintain union with the Teaching Church, and accept the Magisterium of the Church as the final arbiter and authority in doctrine, I can have communication and accept that I am dealing with a fellow Catholic.

5)      The social teachings and pastoral applications of doctrine do not bind the Catholic conscience, as much as dogma, in the hierarchy of Gospel truths. These social teachings express prudential judgments, specific options, and methods of response, by the Shepherds, to those who are hurting, oppressed, and marginalized.

6)      Nonetheless, while good Catholics can disagree on how justice is to be obtained for the hurting, the oppressed, and the marginalized, it is also essential to the Catholic name and identity that we all be gravely concerned for battling injustices, and not merely seek to teach doctrine and liturgy.

7)    I will strive to focus discussion and emotions around ideas, either truthful or mistaken, instead of what attacks a person, a fellow blogger, especially with direct cussing and vulgarities.

8)    I believe that my mission, as a Catholic on Tumblr, is to build up fellow Catholics into the Communion of Saints, which is the Church, to form friendships, to help heal, to pray for, and help call other Catholics to accountability for their Christian witness on a social network. Supported by the Body of Christ, I hope to show truth, humor, and courage before all people that I meet on Tumblr.

9)    Finally, I will encourage frequent confession, the holy reception of Communion at Sunday Mass, Holy Hours of Adoration, recitation of the Rosary, devotion to the angels and saints, the purity of body and soul and perseverance in our Holy Faith until the coming in glory of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Somewhere between Heaven and Hell

Title: Somewhere between Heaven and Hell

Author: @spn-imagines-nation ; Gwen

Pairing & characters: Archangel!reader, Lucifer, Gabriel, Raphael, Michael, Chuck/God

Word Count: 830

Warnings: none

A/N: Requested by Anonymous (a lot of anonymous), @wholita, @moonyxo

“you said request anything so could i have something like the reader being an archangel and chuck protecting her and the other four please? sorry for bothering you, i imagine you are busy. i love your blog!”

As you all know the request really reminded me of my SPN archangel OC. So I took inspiration in some of her back story to write something about Y/N. Enjoy :)

Summary: Chuck and Lucifer talking about their lost Y/N, an archangel that fell with Lucifer and got lost in her way.

Feedback is always appreciated! ❤ English isn’t our first language, sorry for all the mistakes, be indulgent!

«She was the bringer of light, said Lucifer facing his father, his eyes full of pain. You said that I was your favorite, that I was the purest, but did you ever looked at her? She was the most magnificent of us all.
- You loved her
- We all loved her, maybe even more than you.»

A silence grew between the father of all and the fallen. Y/N was a taboo since Lucifer and her collapsed. She was probably the brightest archangel the Lord could ever make, so bright that God himself struggled to see her light. She was the peace bringer of Heaven, a real fighter too. She always defended the abode of God as if she had nothing to lose, and that strength has been a great help during the war against the Darkness.

«She should have been the one taking the Mark of Cain, she would have resisted it. But you wanted to protect her, every one wanted to protect her. I accepted it. You protected her. And so did I.
- I -
- I don’t even know what happened to her once she fell. That’s why you left, seeing two of your child falling was too much for you, but it’s all your fault.
- I couldn’t face my mistakes.»

Lucifer’s bitter laugh echoed in the room, he was mad, mad at his father. He was also mad at Heaven and all those angels who did nothing but watch while their peace was falling with him into the pit. Her disappearance was a stagnant pain in his heart. He remembered this day too well, the pain was still the same. And he remembered how she stood for him asking Heaven for forgiveness, helping him to escape the death sentence. Instead, he was condemned to banishment which was still too much for Y/N.
«- He’s not the problem, the Mark is! We can’t banish him. It’s not his fault! Come on, do something, say something !»
He remembered her desperate voice. When God pronounced his banishment, she grabbed him with all her strength hoping he wouldn’t fall but he did, and so did she. They both were frightened and they were grabbing each other to find some kind of comfort. Until he lost her and in a scream he could see her brilliance fading as he got closer to his prison.

«She would have fight for you.
- She would have fight for me and for all of us. »

They both knew that she would have fight to keep her brother in the light of God and they both knew that Michael and Raphael would have never agreed with that. Even now Y/N was still missing and Heaven never searched for her. Only one did, Gabriel. In the confusion he escaped to find earth and searched for the lost archangel.

«You’re a failure as a father and as a God.
- I know.»

Chuck knew his only mistake, and he knew Y/N was still alive, that she was one of the rare angels that never forgot her mission and was bringing peace to whom who needed it, in a cruel world where peace was missing. Her wings were still healing from the hard fall, she never really took the time to heal herself, she had no plan of returning to her home either. Her pain was her own, the one of loneliness and peace and she was the best at handling it. Loving and strong she was a treasure to earth and to humankind. She was beautiful, the brightest angel of the universe, and her light was so strong that she blinded all heaven so no one could ever see her again. But he was unable to tell it, to fill in the hole she left, nor to pronounce her name. The secret must be kept, just like Gabriel did when he found her, alive, after hundreds of years of research. A few of her words convinced him, this never have to be spoken.

«How can you even smile? She is-
- Happy…
- What?
- Nothing.»

Chuck had a vision the day of the fall, one of blood and feathers. If She had fought for him the way she fought the Darkness, no Heaven would have remained. She loved her brothers so much that she could have killed them to protect them, even from themselves. But he couldn’t allow that. And the only way to stop them from killing each other was to separate them. He may have failed as a father and as a God, but like all father in the world he did what he had to do to protect his children. It seemed like the best choice to do, and even if the results were not what he hoped for. The Kingdom of the Lord remained and he knew that one day Y/N will rise again to make Heaven a better place, one that he never could have done alone.

Two angels

The American poet Longfellow refers to the Angel of Life and the Angel of Death in the poem “The two Angels”.

Their name is unknown, but these two angels have a mission to watch over human from birth to death.

Both of them are wearing white clothes, one was crowned “crown of Amaranth like flame” and the other is “crown of Asphodels like flakes of light”.

anonymous asked:

Do you think the show will follow the path of one sided love from Cas to Dean? After Dean carried the Mark there had been no narration from Dean's POV on his relationship with Cas and this makes me worried.

Hey, Nonnie! I think that somehow the show’s subtext during the Carver era has already given us one-sided love from both Dean and Cas at different points.

In season 8, it seemed that Dean was the one having feelings while Cas couldn’t care less. We saw Dean mourning Cas when he thought he was still in Purgatory; Dean praying to Cas even when he knew there was something wrong with him after Cas was back; Dean making the difference between the “We need you” (as in Sam and Dean) and the “I need you” (to emphasize Dean was the one who needed Cas the most; Dean not warding places against angels because he was hoping Castiel would return to him (as Naomi told him); Dean looking like this when Naomi told him that and that she wished Castiel “felt the same way”.

We also got Dean giving Cas the cold shoulder to show him he was mad because he left and didn’t trust him;

Dean looking like this when he finally reproached Cas for not trusting HIM;

Dean listening to his brother say that he should give Cas a free pass just because it was Cas;

And of course, Dean going with Cas to help him close the gates of Heaven while he left Sam alone to deal with Crowley.

In fact, in season 9 we still saw all of Dean’s feelings before he got the Mark of Cain. We saw Dean praying to Cas; Dean begging Cas to –for once- look after himself; Dean worried about human!Cas and rushing to save him; Dean looking at Cas from afar, sorry he had sent him away; Dean trying to motivate Cas to help, saying it didn’t matter that Cas had no powers anymore; Dean sort of flirting with Cas while saying that not every hookup’s perfect;

Dean apologizing to Cas for kicking him out of the Bunker and not telling him about what was happening to Sam. All of this is canon. But while all this happened, Cas was either in Purgatory, or being brainwashed, or running away with the angel tablet, or with a mission ahead, or human, confused and unable to listen to Dean’s prayers, or worried about Sam.

In 10x23, we learned Cas can tell who a person loves. Thanks to that information, two things finally made sense to me. The first line of the song in Spanish playing in the Laundromat scene in 9x01 goes like this: “Dime si tú me quieres, si tú me adoras como yo pienso”. In English that is, “Tell me if you love me, if you adore me like I think”. The whole song is about someone the person singing loves. This someone is keeping secrets from them, but the person singing loves them that much they are willing to give up everything for them. The first line implies the person singing THINKS the “someone” loves them back.

I think that Castiel thought Dean loved him. He probably felt it when he touched Dean, when he heard his prayers, when he felt his longing. But then, Cas was human and Dean kicked him out and human!Cas said this in 9x06:

“Nobody told you. Nobody explained. You’re just … shoved out kicking and screaming into this human life, without any idea why any of it feels the way it feels, or why this confusion, which feels like it’s … a hair’s breadth from terror or pain. You know, just when you think you do understand, it’ll turn out you’re wrong. You didn’t understand anything at all.”

Cas was supposed to be a “jilted lover” in this episode, right? In fact, all the victims in 9x06 were in great pain, but the pain wasn’t physical. It was emotional because a romantic relationship they had was over. Cas was to be a victim too because he was suffering. Ephraim was following Cas before Cas knew Nora just wanted him as a babysitter. So…. Cas was having emotional romantic pain that had nothing to do with Nora, but everything to do with the confusion he had. When he thought he did understand, it turned out he was wrong. He didn’t understand anything at all. Dean didn’t love him! In fact, by the end of the episode, Dean left him again.

I think Cas’ words indicate two things: 1) he was starting to realize HIS feelings for Dean were romantic (without any idea why any of it feels the way it feels), and 2) he realized Dean didn’t love him back (you didn’t understand anything at all).

A lot of season 9 and 10 showed Cas’ feelings for Dean but not Dean’s (at least not after Dean got the Mark of Cain). But we cannot ignore that season 8 and half of season 9 showed us Dean’s feelings, too. The thing is that Dean doesn’t know a lot of things about Cas. He doesn’t know that Cas was brainwashed into killing HIM; that Cas went shopping for all the things Dean likes, including pie; that Cas was suffering for HIM, and that’s why Ephraim wanted to kill him; that Metatron told Cas everything he did was for Dean; that Castiel was wasting away in bed, missing him while Dean was a demon; that Castiel defended Dean to Claire.

The same goes for Cas. He didn’t know or didn’t understand everything Dean went through in seasons 8 and the first half of season 9 (or he thought he got it wrong!). He didn’t see Naomi tantalizing Dean for expecting Cas to feel the same way. He didn’t hear Dean’s prayer when he told him he didn’t care about the angels falling, that they would figure it out, and that Dean needed him. He didn’t see Dean telling Metatron that taking Cas’ grace was number 1 on the list of things he blamed him for. He didn’t see Dean saying Cas’ name before Sam’s when he was talking to his subconscious (Benny). He also didn’t see Dean defending Castiel to Claire. In fact, we, the audience, hardly ever see inside Dean’s head because he’s always pretending. We have very little scenes where he’s honest and lets us see what he truly thinks or feels.

By the end of season 10, both Dean and Cas know that they love each other. BUT they both have gotten it wrong! They both think that they care about each other, but that beyond that they can offer each other nothing but friendship. That’s why we got Dean’s confession of wanting to experience people and feelings differently for the first time in the same episode where we got Isabella and Piero’s story of unrequited love. Btw, Dean confessed that while bearing the Mark of Cain, so nope… his feelings haven’t changed. It’s just that when you have a crush on someone and you think that someone doesn’t love you back, there’s a moment when you kind of resign yourself to be near that person just as friends. You get to understand that nothing beyond that is gonna happen. Something like that happened to me with my ex-husband (nowadays, still best friend). We were friends for 6 years before we started dating. I had a crush on him for 5 years (and I even dated other people just to try to get over him. Spoiler alert: It didn’t work!) I knew that he cared about me, that he loved me, but I thought he saw me only as a friend or a little sister. It took him 6 years to finally tell me that he had feelings for me. I almost got married twice (with somebody else) in those 6 years. He never told me before because he was afraid of losing my friendship and because he thought I didn’t love him that way. He thought my dating other people was proof that I didn’t have romantic feelings for him. We were just a couple of emotionally constipated idiots! Sounds familiar?

I totally believe the subtext in the Carver era has put both Dean and Cas at the far ends of a story of unrequited love. Or at least that’s what these two idjits think! Their love is not one-sided AT ALL. The audience has seen proof of how much they love each other, but Dean and Cas haven’t. What they’ve seen proves they care about each other, but that doesn’t mean they romantically love each other. How are they going to realize that their love is NOT unrequited? I have no idea! One of them has to finally say it at one point. So, let’s hope season 11 gives us a will-they/won’t-they dynamic worthy of our patience.

We burn that bridge when we come to it.

Yeah, Dean used that line regarding Lily, and their plan to ask her nicely not to kill any more angels. The way he phrased it also reminds me a little bit of that scene in 5.03, the way Cas wanted to just walk into that police station and matter-of-factly tell the officers that they witnessed an archangel, and politely ask where the archangel is now.

I already discussed that scene relative to Ishim’s comment about humans lying, because that’s just what they do, so this second reference back to that scene makes the parallel even stronger here. From 5.03:

CASTIEL: A deputy sheriff laid eyes on the archangel.
DEAN: And he still has eyes? All right, what’s the plan?
CASTIEL: We’ll…tell the officer that he witnessed an angel of the Lord, and the officer will tell us where the angel is.
DEAN: Seriously? You’re going to walk in there and tell him the truth?
CASTIEL: Why not?
DEAN: Because we’re humans. And when humans want something really, really bad, we lie.
DEAN: Because that’s how you become President.

(sue me, I couldn’t resist copying the bit about the lying either, because that’s relevant here too)

And in 12.10:

SAM: So what’s the plan?
DEAN: We knock on her door, ask her nicely not to kill any more angels.
SAM: And if she says no?
DEAN: Then we burn that bridge when we come to it.

This is essentially the first half of Dean and Cas’s conversation there from 5.03. The second half comes from Ishim after we learn the truth from Lily (the human), and learn that Ishim (not a human) has been the one lying all along.

So how does this tie back into burned bridges? Because I’ve been trying to work my head around Ishim’s line about “cutting out his humanity.”

ISHIM: I used to envy you, Castiel. Did you know that? You survived Hell, you were chosen by God. Now look at you. You’re sad, and pathetically weak. So now I’m gonna help you. I’m gonna cure you of your human weakness, the same way I cured my own. By cutting it out. [Ishim walks over to Dean with his angel blade ready, intent on killing Dean]

This was wonderful, because it pinned the label of “Castiel’s Human Weakness” to Dean Winchester’s forehead, but… if the parallel is supposed to tie Dean to Lily… it sort of breaks down there a bit because Ishim DIDN’T kill Lily, he killed HER INNOCENT HUMAN DAUGHTER.

So, why THIS particular parallel then?

Burned bridges.

Ishim loved Lily with everything he had. Obsessively, completely, and irreparably. BUT LILY DID NOT LOVE HIM IN RETURN.

Nothing he did could force Lily to love him back. She initially admired him, was in awe of him, but she never loved him in a particularly human way that he wanted her to. She’d originally been the one to summon HIM, but when he wanted more from her, she summoned another angel to protect her from Ishim. Akobel respected Lily and cared for her and defended her, and in the end gave his life to protect her from Ishim, all the while Ishim was lying to the rest of his flight about the reality of Lily’s situation.

Ishim abused the power of Heaven and his position of authority over other angels (Cas included) to carry out his own revenge mission against a woman who refused to love him.

If he couldn’t have her the way he wanted to, he was determined to burn that bridge to the ground. He destroyed everything SHE loved in turn. First he killed her defender Akobel, and then he killed the one being Lily truly loved, her daughter.

Ishim had thought her powerless, and his only recourse was to punish her as much as he believed she was trying to punish him. He was taking away her last bit of power (or so he thought).

And that’s why he attacked Dean. Not because he was powerless, BUT BECAUSE DEAN WAS TO CAS EVERYTHING HE WANTED LILY TO BE TO HIM.

For all his venom and anit-human rhetoric, Ishim was only bitter that the one human he wanted to love him completely had rejected him. He thought he could use force, or his position, or his magic to make Lily love him, but rejection stung him hard.

Yet here’s Dean Winchester, sauntering in to that diner with less than zero patience, sliding in next to Cas, defending Cas, standing at his side, standing up for him, clearly CARING about Cas, clearly VERY CLOSE to Cas emotionally in a way that Ishim would’ve been over the moon if Lily had been toward him.

So Ishim drives the nail in every chance he gets, bringing up Castiel’s most painful memories (Balthazar, Uriel, the angels who died at his hands…).

*sorry I lost my train of thought here for a second because my CAT IS SNORING and it’s freaking adorable okay…*

So Ishim is deliberately provoking Dean and Cas both here, and it doesn’t take him very long to see the dynamic between the two of them (even as it differs from the dynamic between Sam and Cas), and singling out Dean as his prime target for “curing Cas of his humanity.”

Because Ishim isn’t trying to destroy Dean for not loving Cas, the way he tried to destroy Lily for not loving him. Ishim’s trying to destroy CAS. Because, in Dean, Ishim believes that Cas got something he was denied. Because unlike Lily, Dean loves Cas back.

Ishim was all about burning bridges.

It also reminds me just a shade of Dean’s line to Kevin in 7.21. He was a little bit wrong here, but he was a heck of a lot right:

“'Cause the angels – they don’t care. I think maybe they just don’t have the equipment to care. Seems like when they try, it just… breaks them apart.”

NCT Comeback Theory

Ok guys so, I’ve heard that NCT’s Comeback Stage will be on the 15th so I did my research. 15th June, would be 156, and I found out that 156 is an angel number.
This is the article I found:

Number 156 is a combination of the attributes of number 1, the vibrations of number 5 and the energies of number 6. Number 1 resonates with creation and new beginnings, striving towards achieving goals, trying new things, self-reliance and determination, intuition and initiative. Number 1 tells us that we create our own realities with our actions, thoughts and beliefs.

Wasn’t that what “The 7th sense” was about? They were talking about their dreames, achievements and a lot of other stuff that could be linked to this.

Number 5 brings important life changes, creativity and new beginnings, auspicious new opportunities, making life choices and decisions, learning life lessons through experience, resourcefulness, adaptability and versatility.

“Without You”, was about a break up, and what does a break up have in common with this? A break up will teach you lessons. It’ll build you and it will also be a new start for a new life.

Number 6 adds its attributes of the material aspects of life, home, family and domesticity, compromise, service to others and selflessness, responsibility and reliability, and providing for the self and others. Number 6 also resonates with personal willpower and overcoming obstacles.

Wasn’t “Limitless” about willpower? About how everyone is ‘Limitless’?

Angel Number 156 is a message from your angels that your material needs will be supplied as you start to make the necessary changes that you are prompted and guided
to make. Keep your thoughts positive and light, as your focus and attitude manifests and determines the realities of your life. The changes you need to make involve how you pursue, live and serve your life purpose and soul mission. Angel Number 156 is a message that your determination to positively change your life (eg. career, home, finances etc) is being Divinely guided, so listen to your intuition and the guidance from the angels and pursue the course of action that takes you closer to living your personal truths. Your intuition is your link to the angels. Always be aware of angelic love as it is unconditional and always available.

NCT’s name means “Neo Culture Technology”. “Neo” stand for new, so it could also mean “New Culture Technology”. Let’s take Technology out of the name, and we are left with Neo/New Culture. In my opinion NCT is different from other groups, their concepts are to speak to us, the “Neo Culture”. They talk a lot about how they want the world to know about them. All of their songs are about chasing dreams and goals, right?

Angel Number 156 may indicate that a very happy change and/or addition is coming to your home and family. This change or addition will bring love and happy times.

This was what made me write this. A “new addition”. First, Johnny and Doyoung were added, does that mean someone else (maybe Hansol) will be added now?

Number 156 relates to number 3 (1+5+6=12, 1+2=3) and Angel Number 3.

Also this one, Angel number three. For now, we only have 3 sub units of NCT. Notice how the article put “1+2” together?
Maybe it was NCT U + NCT 127 = NCT Dream?
Or is it maybe the Rookies? Yukhei, Kun and Jungwoo since they’re only 3?

You know how there is an entire genre of supernatural American history fan fiction? Like “lol Abraham Lincoln was a vampire hunter, can you imagine?” Listen - why isn’t there a series about Nat Turner where he is a time traveling white supremacist hunter? Like Nat Turner gets assigned missions from the angel of justice where he has to go kill racists. I’d actually read that. Give me pulp fiction of Nat Turner killing Richard Spencer.

Why do you think cas should become/choose to be human? Wouldn't it make more sense if he stayed an angel but accepted the fact that he is different from the other angels but that doesn't mean he doesn't belong any less? Idk I just feel like his angelic side is such a huge part of him that he won't necessarily give it us but just accept that he's a little different and that's ok? (Sry if this comes off as rude I rly love ur blog and just wanted to see ur take on this)

It’s not rude at all :) This is a touchy subject right now though so I’ve put this under a cut because I understand this is a personal issue for some whereas I am coming at it as a meta POV. I’m not personally invested per se as I don’t identify with the character, I just enjoy the story immensely as a whole and he is key to it, I love Cas’ character but I don’t project myself into him. I understand for some this is deeply personal so please take what I say here as a narrative reasoning and not a personal attack on anyone.

Basically for me it boils down to the underlying theme in these stories of self discovery and acceptance that it’s about who you are not what you are:

Which is a hugely important part of a story based around Free Will and choices.

I personally do not see any part of canon that tells us that Cas’ grace / Angelic side has anything to do with his personality or who he is, it only is relevant to what he is, or was, anyway, at the start of the story because he pretty swiftly tells us that he has doubts, that he loves humanity and falls, within just one season ending up human for the first time. Grace is not a true part of his personality, his desires, wants, needs. For me it’s not who he is and who he wants to be and therefore who he will be in the end after his journey.

Happy Birthday to the absolutely incredible @alullabytoleaveby.  I am late, but it’s not less filled with love for that.  For your birthday I give you, two dorks in love being domestic as hell.

Cas reads the cereal boxes.  The backs of them.  The long, indecipherable lists of the ingredients, and the percent daily calcium intake, and the weird little blurbs on the front with weird cartoon characters; Cas reads them all.  He reads them all painstakingly.   Dean knows this because he has been standing in the cereal aisle, watching Cas read the cereal boxes painstakingly for, he looks down and consults his watch, thirteen minutes and forty-three seconds.  It was cute for two minutes.  Cas had that little furrow between his brows and he was squinting as he read.  There was something just fucking…fucking endearing as shit about Cas giving that much attention to fucking breakfast food.  But Christ, it’s been fucking, Dean looks at his watch again, fourteen and a half minutes, and how long can the guy keep critiquing Tony the goddamn Tiger.

“Casssssss,” Dean whines, “just pick one already, c’mon.”

Almost in slow motion, Cas lifts his head, looks at Dean, and raises one perfect eyebrow as if to say, “excuse you, foolish mortal.”

Dean blinks, for a moment struck dumb by Cas’ cocked eyebrow and challenging expression, before collecting his thoughts and forcing out an eye roll.

“We’ve been here for fifteen minutes,” he points out, “just grab a box and let’s go.  We don’t have all day.”

Cas’ eye brow ticks a centimeter higher because, no, actually, Dean, we do have all day. He’s gracious enough to not point that out.  Instead, he spreads his arms, Frosted Mini Wheats in one hand, Cocoa Pebbles in the other.  He looks vaguely lordly, loose fitting grey sweater, dark washed jeans, five o’clock shadow, and all.

“Dean,” he begins, “You may not have noticed, but we are standing in an aisle devoted to nothing but cereals—”

Oh shit, Dean thinks, here we go.
