This is a great book that has really been capturing my feelings lately. It’s important for me (and everyone struggling with depression — suicidal or not) to remember that feeling SOMETHING is better than feeling nothing. So yes, I may be angry or frustrated or sad or crying but at least it’s better than feeling dead inside.
"Pessimism may seem out of place well over half-way up the scale. But it makes sense when you look at it closely. Despite their sour expectations, pessimists are trying to get something done, and that’s better than not trying at all.
And what about anger? I think anger is a whole lot more positive a feeling than depression. I feel a lot healthier when I’m angry than when I’m paralyzed in a deep funk.”
