and yes this includes me

truly and honestly: who gives a shit

you can very easily discuss the importance of kinetic stims without trying to tear down visual and audio stims and the people making passive aggressive posts about how they hate, like, stimboards and shit because it makes ~stimming look like an aesthetic~ aren’t helping either

honestly??? it would be great if common visual stims enter the social consciousness as “things that make people feel good”. it’s actually, in fact, pretty cool that now I can say “oh man yeah, I love kinetic sand, it’s so satisfying watching videos of it being cut” and people around me - including, yes, neurotypicals! - will get what I meant

does work need to be done to help physical stims reach a similar level so that stuff like hand flapping is acceptable??? obviously; but trying to be condescending because young neuroatypical people are like, making gifs of slime or whatever is pointless

stimming IS pretty. stimming IS fun. you don’t need to act like it isn’t

italeteller replied to your post:I think it’s worth pointing out that Nabokov…

why he is like this?!?

yes Jackson you are a lot of people bias

and many loves you including me

don’t say things like this …

My dear lgbt+ children,

If you’re too scared to come out, i understand.

If you wanted to come out but now changed your mind, i understand.

If you are afraid to speak about lgbt+ rights now, i understand.

If you can’t volunteer or donate to or even just speak about lgbt+ causes because your lgbt+-phobic environment would get angry, i understand.

There are many posts going around telling you to be loud now, to speak up and fight now, including posts by me. And yes, it’s certainly true - but please never never never think you need to risk your own safety.

Your safety and wellbeing is always priority number one. You are doing a wonderful, badass, brave hero thing for the lgbt+ community: You’re keeping one of us safe - yourself! And i’m so proud of you for that.

Better times will come, my dear.

With all my love,

Your Tumblr Mom

I’m very proud of myself today, okay? Hear me out.

I’m a Teacher of English as Second/Foreign Language. I’m currently working at a Language Institute, and every Halloween we host a party for the younger students. They wear costumes, we play games, eat candies, the whole enchilada. This year, however, I’m teaching teenagers. The thing is, we’ve given up asking them to take part in the party because well, they’re teenagers, and they feel they’re over the whole dress-up and playing games thing, they find it silly or something. I know…

But since they still have to come to class while the party is going on, I prepared a special lesson for one of my classes. I told them they could bring food and drinks and we would watch a video. So I brought Hush, and I made a video watching worksheet to analyze the plot, themes, and characters. Anyway, at first they weren’t very into it. But as we continued watching, they were hooked.

Btw, this was me watching them as they watched the episode…

…especially as we got to this part…

(and yes, they were fucking scared, two of the girls jumped on their seats… the same happened when the Gentlemen get to the dorms and the student opens the door to find them there…)

Anyway, since we don’t watch the whole thing through (we watch a few scenes, then stop, talk about what happened, they write down notes, then continue watching), we had to stop just when the episode was about to finish. And this happened:

ME: Okay, guys, we’ll finish watching the episode next class.

STUDENT 1: I want to watch it.

STUDENT 2: Me, too.

ME: You mean you want to finish watching the episode? You liked it? (I was already excited at this!)

STUDENT 1: No, I mean I want to watch the whole show.

STUDENT 2: So do I!

STUDENT 3: You said it’s on Netflix, right?

ME: Yes, it’s on Netflix!

STUDENT 1: Have you watched the whole show?

ME: Yes, I have watched the whole show over a dozen times. It’s my favorite show. (I really had to keep the fangirl in me in check at this point…)

STUDENT 3: When school’s over, I’m going to watch it!

STUDENT 2: Yes, I’m going to watch it over the summer!

trying to learn to love my huge lips

“I have an announcement to make, everyone.”

“All of the amethysts are my girlfriends. I’m dating all of them now. All of them.”

Googling ( insert voice actors names ) + BLCD , just to hear them moaning while imagining them as those straight characters you ship in that straight anime.

Just because they did a BL DRAMA CD … You sinner …

I’ll never understand… this weird ass mentality where these up and coming young fandom people think adults being in fandom is weird and gross? Like?? Fandom was….. CREATED by adults. That includes all the nasty porn, too. Created, by adults, for other adults.

No, kids don’t get to come in here and push adults out. Sorry. This isn’t “your” space, it never WAS. I got into fandom when I was a wee 11 year old, as did many of us, including people even older than me. Yes, fandom has 20 year olds. It has 30 year olds. And 40,50, even 60 year olds. It always has and it always will, and that won’t change. Surround yourself with people in fandom that make you comfortable and leave it there.

If you want to push adults out of fandom, go ahead and try. Just be aware if it ever DID happen (it won’t), you won’t have conventions, good art, good fic, get togethers, etc. Aka, you won’t have much of a fandom, just a bunch of little kids crying.

Heights Cool Musical Too

I think a lot of you weren’t around for this? but you need it in your life and I need consoling for being present at this Ham4Ham show but not being able to see anything, so here are some highlights of my favorite thing that @linmanuel’s ever done. and yes that includes all the things that changed my life. JUDGE ME.

No, not everyone’s a racist, but yes, everyone has at least a drop of prejudice in them, including me. It demands honest self-confrontation.

i’ve realised that one of my (many) favourite things about the original series of star trek is that bones spends the majority of his time giving spock a hard time and trying to get him to show emotion, but the second someone else does the same bones is right there defending the fuck out of spock. and vice versa, spock spends the majority of his time insulting bones and his medical skills but as soon as bones is hurt or in trouble spock is right there ready to help whilst looking like a kicked puppy.
